Sens Face-Off Against Bruins Tonight
The Senators will try for their 50th win of the season tonight as they play the 7th seeded Boston Bruins tonight at the Corel Centre. Patrick Lalime will start in goal tonight while Shaun Van Allen, Curtis Leschyshyn, Mike Fisher and Anton Volchenkov will not be playing. Ottawa is also trying to grab sole possesion of 1st place in the league as Dallas tied them last night for 107 points with a win over Buffalo. The Stars have 2 games remaining while the Sens have 3. Detroit is one point behind the two clubs with 106 points and 3 games remaining. New Jersey is still trying to catch Ottawa. With 4 games remaining and 103 points they have potential to catch the red-hot Sens. Philadelphia is also giving the Devils a run for their money, they have a 101 points and may overtake them for the division lead and title. If the Sens win tonight they will reach 50 wins, a feat not accomplished by this team. They are 27-10-3 at home, while the Bruins are 13-21-5 on the road.

Sens eliminate Habs from Playoffs
The Senators eliminated the Montreal Canadiens from the playoffs Saturday night, as they defeated them 3-1 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Bryan Smolinski, Brian Pothier and Jason Spezza all capitilized for the 1st place Sens. Spezza added an assist and Patrick Lalime made 23 saves for the win. With the defeat, Ottawa now has a league leading 107 points with 3 games remaining. Dallas is close behind with 105 points and Detroit trails with 104. Ottawa faces Boston on Tuesday, Washington on Thursday and rounds out the regular season Saturday at Toronto.

Sens and Avs Skate to Tie
Martin Havlat and Vaclav Varada each scored powerplay goals as the Sens skated to a 2-2 tie with the 5th place western rivals, the Colorado Avalanche Tuesday. Rob Blake and Alex Tanguay scored for the Avs. The Sens, now with 5 games remaining in the regular season, play Washington at home on Friday.

Sens defeat Cats 3-1
The Senators scored three unanswered goals in the 3rd period last night to defeat the 11th place Florida Panthers 3-1 in Sunrise, Florida. The Sens now have a 7 point lead over the second place New Jersey Devils for the Eastern Conference lead. Ottawa goal scorers include Marian Hossa, Magnus Arvedson, and Brain Smolinski. The Ottawa Senators clinched the Northeast Division with the win.
