Thanks to the freedom of college, my trustee car, and friends the amount of quality shows I have been seeing has risen. This page will have my thoughts of these shows.

August 2003- 9:30 Club
Other Bands: Reggie and the Full Effect, Midtown, Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance

Last show before college. Writing this 6 months after the show. Sorry. Awesome show by Reggie. It looked like a circus with their customes. They really knew how to rock the crowd. The crowd was wild and the light show was amazing. They played the fan favorites from mostly "Promotional Copy" and the one that came out March of this year.
Midtown played their usual pop/punk line which was really good. A lot of girly fans but also a lot of 'girly-men'. Senses Fail and My Chemical Romance were good. They were the usual screamo bands that started becoming popular this year. Missed the first 10 minutes of My Senses Fail though. Here's a fun fact. All of the bands except Reggie and the Full Effect are from New Jersey.

July 30, 2003- Nissan Pavillion
Other Bands: Tons of the best bands!!

Same as last year but I was more prepared. It was awesome and I just had a blast. A lot of memories including the Less Than Jake set with the circle pit, The Ataris, Pennywise, Dropkick Murphys, Yellowcard, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Suicide Machines, Rancid, Andrew WK, and Mest. Other bands that I saw were Simple Plan, The Used, Tsunami Bomb, Brand New, Starting Line, and Face to Face. The saddest part though was One Man Army took Mad Caddies' set and got moved to the 3rd stage instead of the 2nd. What made it worse was when 3 awesome ska bands (Less Than Jake, Mad Caddies, and Big D and the Kid's Table) all played at the same time. But i did not know that Mad CAddies played at the same time as Less Than Jake's. Oh well. Tommy missed Dropkick.
The bands that I grew up listening to (well since 8th grade anyways) played their old songs and I got to appreciate them more! All of the bands were awesome. I did not like the people that tried to be cool and think they are all that. I did not like Diana's biotchy attitude (even now she annoys me) but what can I do, I just have to let people do what they want to do. Oh and same complaint I had during the Homegrown show, if you do not know the circumstances in the pit, either leave or don't go at all. You people will get others hurt by insitgating fights because you got pushed or what not, not helping out people on the ground, or just nor helping the surfers across. If you do not know the culture then don't act like you are all that.
Well I have to stop being bitter but happy instead. I had a great time and it was just awesome (once again)! Heh I picked out the bands' buses from where we just had our dinner (Arby's). I saw the buses and insisted on going there since I know bands are hungry and they would want to eat. We were the first ones there and got to see the Used upclose (well the singer anyways). Aby and Natalie talked to him for a long time like they are friends. They left when a group of giggly girls came up and just giggled to death. Nonetheless, that was great and next year, I sure do know where I am going to eat my dinner. heh
I hope next year is going to be as great as the past 2 years. Summer is winding down and I have to get ready for Idaho. Later.

February 24, 2003- 9:30 Club
Other Bands: All American Rejects, Riddlin' Kids, Wakefield

The show last night was ok. The bands were awesome (especially Homegrown). The only things that makes me say that this show was mediocre was because of the style of music, it was a radio show, and the audience were terrible. HFS and DC101's presence were really felt. The people came there to just hear Riddlin Kid and All American Reject's hit singles on the radio. The crowd population decreased when those two bands finished playing their sets. There were a lot of high school kids that think they're cool but once they were in the pit, they just want to leave because they didn't know what came up. They whine too much and SINGS along to the Simple Plan and Blink 182 songs that plays in between sets! The girls in the pit were whining and just pushing people back because they don't want to be touched and have people all over them. WELL JUST LEAVE IF YOU CANT HANDLE IT but stop pushing back the crowd because we cant do anything. Pssh, i even crossed my arms so they wouldnt think imgrabbing them or something. It was ridiculous. People from behind are pushing people to the front and i cant do anything (not grabbing, that's wrong people and retarded). Yeah and guys were gropping girl's while theyre crowd surfing! WHAT?! THE CROWD WAS DUMB! Oh yeah, the people upfront wont even HELP the people in the air. Just raise your hands and help out. DO you think im there to lift weights? no! Those same people that wont help out kept cussing because they kept getting hit in the head. OH MY, just LEAVE. Hah, this is the most hilarious part too. The girl infront of me kicking me and hitting me cause she thinks im all over her, she has a CAST in her arm! That crowd was inexperienced. They dont know what a show is. That wasnt even a punk show although they kept saying they were in a punk show. Ill put them in a NOFX, Guttermouth, Bad Religion, Rancid, Dropkick Murphy's show and see if they stay in the pit. Seriously, the bands' (except HG) style just got into my nerves. They were really good. Maybe I'm being biased because of the crowd.

OK now to Homegrown (the crowd were the same peeps). They just hit off with their first song from Act Your Age. I knew this show was going to be awesome! I was there for the band and not for the others! They played at least 10 songs from that album and 4 from the new one, Barbie Girl, and their first song from That's Business (first album). The people didn't even act crazy while playing the old stuff but were crazy on the new songs from the new album. There were some true HG fans there too, dont worry. It's ok not to know the song but at least just have fun and not act retarded by standing there and then get all crazy when the song they know starts playing. I dont understand it at all. Stupid people, Homegrown was awesome!

November 15, 2002- Kahler Hall
Other Bands: The Squints, Karmella's Band, Subsist,Aaron + Beyond Z, Township Rebellion (VA)

Wow, Mop Attack is finally done. Not entirely done but they won't be doing any shows in a while because of college. It's been a crazy 5 years (since 1998). I'm going to miss it. I have made a lot of friends and met soo many people. I've also made a lot of memories and it was just a lot of fun. I can't believe it's all over. It was really sad at the end when everybody from waaay back was there hugging and saying goodbyes to each other. Heh, I even got my usual hug with Veronica and Mandy! Howard shows to scary VFW shows, to shows with the HUNTINGTONS and Mustard Plug.

Tonight was pretty awesome. I saw EVERYBODY and it was just great. They had the same vigor. The place was packed but most of them were little freshmens and middle schoolers moshing relentlessly. Even in the slow parts such as Psycho and BUGS they were just acting stupid. Most of the people didn't know who Mop Attack is but it's good that they saw a legend in this B-More/DC/Va scene. The moshes were hard hitting. The people smelled as usual but I was more suprised when girls went in as well (hmm even one only in her bra). It was really good. I came in at 9:30PM because I was too busy playing Age of Empires so I missed Karmella's Band and the Squints. But Mandy is neighbors with my friends in Towson so it shouldn't be too hard to see their shows. Subsist was really good eventhough they didn't play their old songs (again from waay back). This other band played and had this old punk sound which I thought was cool. Mop Attack then played and just rocked.

Everybody seems to have their own thing going on now. I can't believe we used to be those short freshmens dancing without minding others. Time flies and like all good memories, I wish it would replay back. I'm definitely going to miss everybody that I have known and met in these shows. Heh even the new comers from Long Reach HS, it's still good fun. That is it, this is PageMastah NickC...THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT!
