On the Lakers series
As I'm writing, we're just a few hours away from Game 2 of our series with the Lakers. The team's upbeat after Game 1. We don't have anything to be ashamed of, we just have a couple of areas that we have to improve on, and I think we'll do that tonight.
I had a little celebrity encounter during Game 1 of our series with the Lakers when I punched Sylvester Stallone. He was sitting down, so I could hit him and run. I wanted to meet him, but I didn't want to go up to him and say, "Hey, how are you doing." I was on the right side of him, so he couldn't hit me with the left. Not many people can say that they got a punch in on Rocky!
I like going to crowds where the fans are really into it. I think that makes me play better, and it makes it more fun. A lot of people get playful, and I like to play back with them. If a guy's being a jerk to me, then I just try and ignore him (although I have to admit that it's hard!) One crowd that I like playing in front of is San Antonio. Portland's good, too, and of course, New York is great. I met Spike Lee when I was in New York. That was real fun, since I'd always seen him on TV when I was watching games, and wishing that I could be there playing in front of him. Now that I am, it's kind of weird, but it feels good. Spike's a true fan, though. He'll ask you for your autograph. And he's the kind of guy that you can talk trash back with and then go and hang out after the game.
And yes, my dog Sweet Pea's doing good. I gave him an orange rawhide that he's bringing inside and dragging all over the white carpet. So he's happy.
I'm going to be happy if we take it to the Lakers. Keep checking back - I'll be writing again real soon.
