Outing Report
By: Paul Berns

The 3rd outing of the year took place at Citywest Golf & Country Club on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning .Myself and the other committee members were very worried about whether anyone would turn up or not ,but we need not have worried because 30 members and visitors arrived bright and early-ready to do battle!!.

We set off in 3 balls and despite a bit of a slow start we were all under way before the allotted tee-time. I am delighted to say that I have played this course 5 times previous and put my 1st drive into the lake to the right of the 1st fairway but this time my drive soared high and straight. STRAIGHT INTO THE B****Y LAKE !!!!!!. Although looking through the score cards I wasn't the only one.

Citywest is a difficult course and mixed with the hot weather it made for a tough round of golf ,which explained the pretty low scoring. Having been last to tee off ,it meant that I was also last to finish. So it was an angry mob which met me on arrival back at the 19th hole, all wanting to hurry off to see the FA cup final . So as quickly as I could, (baring in mind I had no interest in watching two no hoper teams battling it out for a small silver cup !!!) I set about doing the scores .............

The Results Were As follows

Group 1
Pos Name
1st Willie Rogers
2nd Des O'Donnell
3rd Martin Downey

Well done to the winners and I look forward to chopping all your handicaps. The next outing is the big one ,Captains Day, on 7th July in Knockanally, and we would like to ask all members to try to bring along so prizes as our funds are getting pretty low.

Tee off is between 10 & 11.30 and green fees are £25.

So see you then ,
Paul B

PS...... Please get to Knockanally as early as possible.
