2001 AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS -
MOOLOOLABA
You name it, and it's just about up for
grabs this weekend at the 2001 Australian Championships.
Nicole Hackett the current Australian
and World Champion heads a stellar Women's field this Sunday (29th
April), along with former World Champions Loretta Harrop, Joanne
King, Emma Carney and up-and-coming Oceania Champion Mel
Ashton.
This race is the main selection race
for this year's World Championships to be held in Edmonton, Canada in
July, as well as the Regional Oceania title, and the obvious
Australian title.
With Nicole being the reinging champion
it would be expected that most of the pressure would be on her, but
as she has previously said to have done, Nicole will just block out
the media/public expectations and and as usual give it her all in the
race.
In an article in this months
Triathlon and Multisport Magazine
Nicole, amongst other things, spoke of
how she has a changed her training as a result of re-assesing after
the 2000 Olympic Games as well as how she now has a different outlook
to races and goes out there with the idea of having fun.
A good article so make sure you buy it
and check it out.
l'll post links to articles/information
about this weekend's Big Race as I find it.
