By Anthony Schoettle
December 11, 2000

As I am sure you have already heard Alex Rodriguez was signed by the Texas Rangers for an unbelievable contract of 10 years and an average of $25.2 million per year. This is the largest contract in the history of sports. To get a closer look at just how much the Rangers will be paying Rodriguez we'll break it down by more than just the amount he will make per season. Below you will find how much Rodriguez will make per game, at bat, run and so on. Enjoy!

The following numbers are Alex Rodriguez's stats from last season. Let's see exactly how much he will be making with his new salary.

· 148 games = $170,270 per game
· 554 at bats = $45,487 per at bat
· 134 runs = $188,060 per run
· 175 hits = $144,000 per hit
· 41 home runs = $614,634 per home run
· 132 RBI's = $190,909 per RBI
· 15 stolen bases = $1,680,000 per stolen base
· 34 doubles = $741,176 per double
· 2 triples = $12,600,000 per triple
· 100 walks = $252,000 per walk

To take it one step further we will now figure out what Alex will be making per month, week, year and so on. We will again use Rodriguez's average yearly salary of $25.2 million.

· Per month = $2,100,000
· Per week = $525,000
· Per day = $75,000
· Per hour = $3,125
· Per minute = $52

While I may not be able to hit a home run out of a major league ball park and have trouble even pitching the ball as far as the mound these numbers make me question if I couldn't at least try my hand at baseball.
