On the way up Gorbea, we came across these enormous boulders. This picture was taken looking up a hill, so even though Wes was a wonderful scale ;), it doesn't really show exactly how big they are. They are enormous. And, they are near to the positions in which they fell originally, millions of years ago, when small pieces of the Gorbea platform collapsed and they rolled into the deep sea muck beside it. Honestly, I can't imagine a better education about carbonate platforms than having visited Gorbea.
