A Dark hero
"No don't do this to me now!" She growled as her Mazda gave one last cough and finally fell into dead silence. She turned the key but it made not a sound. Frustrated she opened her door and stepped out into the frigid Irish air. Born and raised here she usually found this small country peaceful and charming. But now, on this dank winter's night, it was nothing but haunting. She shivered in the icy breeze as she began down the deserted back road. Her brother's words echoed through her mind "Take the back roads! They're better for traveling." "Yeah right" she whispered outloud with a scowl. The night was only lit by the occasional break in clouds, allowing the full moon to shine down upon the old road. Skeletal trees hung into the lane like guardians of death. Then suddenly she felt them, eyes upon her back. She whipped around only to see the darkness of the inky night. She turned again and broke into a brisk jog. Her frightened breaths puffed out with incredible speed as her pulse quickened into maddening beats. She wanted to let out a scream when she heard the steps behind her. But she could only run blindly through the pitch. The gruff breaths drew closer and closer. Too afraid to glance back she forced herself into her fastest gait. Run, Run, Run. She repeated it like a chant to keep herself from slowing. But it didn't matter the things continued to gain. She chose a quick glance behind her to see not one, but a pack of wolves running at her heels. The moon shown down to sharpen their grins with its rays. Tears began to stream as muscles began to tear. She whipped her head back to see her way. But something was standing only feet from her! A monster! Absolutly massive with eyes glowing whiter than the moon. Lavender skin and great muscles only complimented the creatures huge size, wings and muscular tail. She could only scream as she collided directly with the creature's rock hard stomach. With huge forearms the creature grabbed hold of her and tossed her into the ditch like a rag doll. Then the being, with unimaginable agility, attacked the wolves . Tossing them from side to side as though their teeth meant nothing. The cries and deaths of wolves rained out. And then, silence. She stood from the ditch to see what the moon shown before her. What survived of the pack had scurried away bleeding with wounds that would mean their lives. And the creature, he stood their still, on two legs, strongly resembling human. His eyes now turned to her, "Are you hurt?" He asked tenderly. She could only tremble with cold and shock. He walked to her. What was she to do? Moving was impossible so she allowed him to wrap an arm around to warm her chilled shoulders. She looked up into his worried eyes and spoke the words that meant the beginning of a close friendship, "Thank you, for saving my life." She blinked up at his dark face as the moon turned his features to stone. He swept her into his massive grasp and carried her off into the night.
