Horse Show Season 2001
I didn't go in near as many horse shows as would have liked to. I only got to 2 this year. The first one was the anual show that the 4-H puts on. I rode Sultana as my English horse and Ace as my Western horse. Sultana didn't do too bad, considering it was the first show I've shown her in and the fact the the judge was crappy (pardon my language!). We got a second and a few 3rds and 4ths, though I didn't enter very many classes with her. With Ace I did alright too, considering that he doesn't go all that well western. We got a 3rd and a fourth.
The other show we went to was the Saskatoon 4-H horse show. I could only take one horse, so I took Salty. The classes were really big and of course the judge was what we Arabian horse people call a 'Quarter Horse Judge'. Which means that your horse had to be a Quarter horse and drag it's feet along with it's nose dragging in the dirt to win. Even though we didn't place all that often, we did really good in my opinion. I was really proud of Sultana. We did get one 5th place. But what really made my day was when me and my best friend, LeeAnne, got 1st place in the pairs riding class!!! We were so awesome!
