I heard about 'Belle' through my sister. She had been talking to her friend on the phone. After she had hung up, she told me that her friend was taking her dog into the vet's the next day at 9:00 a.m. to be euthanized. I felt so sorry for the dog! I made my sis phone her friend back and ask her why the dog had to be put down. The friend just said that the dog was 'mean'. It played too rough with the other pup they had, and Belle would jump up on everyone, and would sometimes even 'bite'. I know this friend and I know that she can also exaggerate a bit. So I talked to her on the phone and asked her if she would be willing to give it away. She said sure, but it isn't a real nice dog. I didn't care - I had to see for myself what this dog did.
So with the permission of my parents, me and sis went to the friend's house. We saw two dogs infront of the house, and they looked adorable! Especially the black one - the other was brown and black and stocky. I fell inlove with the pup right away, and I think the friend and her family were surprised to see us take the dog home.
As it turns out, Tessa is a perfect angel. She doesn't even jump up on us anymore, after only a couple of scoldings. As of September 7, she's learned to 'sit', 'lay down' and 'shake a paw'. Right now I'm in the process of teaching her to 'stay', 'rollover' and 'speak'.
She loves tagging along on trail rides when we take the horses out. Though, she learned the hard way not to follow too closely behind a horse!
