You're making a film that has a grisly plane crash as its centerpiece. Is the mood... somber? Creepy? Guess again. "I've never laughed so much on a movie set," says Ali Larter (Varsity Blues), one of the stars of the new heartpounder Final Destination. "This cast is pretty much all jokers," agrees costar Kerr Smith (Dawson's Creek), who plays one of the six students on a class trip who disemback from Flight 180 before takeoff after Alex (Devon Sawa) has a premonition that the airplane will explode. It does, and the teens cheat death - temporarily anyway, until freak accidents kill them off in the order of their seat numbers. (Not surprisinglym durectir James Wong and producer Glen Morgan have both worked on TV's supernatural-obsessed The X-Files.) The highlight on the Vancouver location is an airplane set on hydraulics that bumps and shakes as if it were about to burst apart. "I don't think I'll ever feel the same about getting on a plane again," says Kerr. "It's scary."
