Glen Morgan (Producer/Screenwriter) & James Wong (Director/Screenwriter) Glen Morgan and James Wong's partnership began when the two became friends at El Cajon High School in San Diego. Today, Morgan and Wong serve as executive producers on "The Others," the new drama series from Dreamworks Television in association with NBC Studios.
Wong, whose family came to the United States from Hong Kong when he was 10 years old, met Morgan during their sophomore year and they soon discovered a mutual interest in movies, television and the performing arts. The pair joined a comedy improv group in La Jolla, California, performing alongside comics like Whoopi Goldberg, before entering the communication arts department at Loyola Marymount University. After graduating from Loyola Marymount in 1983, their partnership was firmly established when they co-wrote the hard-hitting feature film The Boys Next Door.
Morgan and Wong's work on the hit TV show "The X Files" earned them several Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe Award in 1996. In addition to working on "21 Jump Street" and "The Commish" for Stephan J. Cannell Productions, the team created the sci-fi series "Space: Above and Beyond" and served as executive producers on the drama "Millennium."
In August of 1999, Morgan and Wong signed a deal to develop and produce series for DreamWorks Television and NBC Studios, the companies behind "The Others." The team also co-wrote New Line Cinema's supernatural thriller, Flight 180, scheduled for release in March 2000. The film marks Wong's directorial debut.
Glen Morgan is married with two children. His birthday is July 12. Wong is married with three children (including twins). His birthday is January 12. Both live in Los Angeles.
Warren Zide (Producer) is both an accomplished producer and manager. In 1997 he partnered with Craig Perry to form Zide/Perry Films, a division of Zide/Perry Entertainment. Zide/Perry Films' most recent feature, American Pie, a teen comedy, was a critical and box office success. Upcoming projects include: Warner Bros. Like Cats & Dogs, a mix of live action, animatronics and CGI; MGM's Ain't Nobody Like the One I Got, an urban comedy; Replikate, a romantic comedy; and a sequel to American Pie; all scheduled for production later this year. Zide/Perry Films has a two-year, first-look production deal with Warner Bros. to develop and produce feature films.
Though Zide Management was formed a mere five years ago, Zide is now one of the leading literary managers in the business, having sold more than 69 spec scripts. Zide represents many young, rising screenwriters and directors including, Ben Ramsey, screenwriter of The Big Hit, Harris Goldberg, screenwriter of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and Jash Schwartz, screenwriter of Providence. He was selected for Fade-In Magazine's "One of the Top 100 People in Hollywood You Need To Know," The Hollywood Reporter's "Next Generation" and was the youngest manager to appear on Weekly Variety's "Top 10 Spec Salesman" list. Warren Zide began his career in the New Line mailroom and went on to develop his skills at Internation Creative Management (ICM).
Craig Perry (Producer) partnered with Warren Zide in 1997 to form Zide/Perry Entertainment and helped launch the company's feature film division, Zide/Perry Films. Previously, Perry served as Vice President of Development for Scott Rudin Productions, where he worked closely with many of the industry's top filmmakers. He was an Associate Producer on the box office smash, The First Wives Club and worked in developing such films as: A Simple Plan, The Truman Show, In & Out, Clueless and Lethal Weapon 3.
Perry launched his career in the New Line Cinema mailroom where he met Warren Zide. He then joined Silver Pictures as a story analyst and quickly ascended to Director of Development.
Robert McLachlan, C.S.C (Director of Photography) is an award-winning cinematographer who first crossed paths with Glen Morgan and Jim Wong on the series "The Commish," where he served as Director of Photography for two seasons. He then moved on to "Millennium," where he again worked with Morgan & Wong and won two ASC Nominations and two CSC Awards. McLachlan's other series television credits include: "Strange Luck," "MacGyver," "Sea Hunt," "Neon Rider," and "Beachcombers."
McLachlan's feature film credits include: Impolite, Abducted, The First Season, and Savior of The Soul. He served as cinematographer on the television movies: "Other Women's Children" and "Courting Justice" for ABC; "Murder At My Door" for FOX and "Suspect Behavior - Spin & Marty" for Disney/ABC.
John Willett (Production Designer) has a diverse list of credits spanning the last decade. He was Art Director on three Alan Parker films, The Road to Wellville, Come See The Paradise, and Mississippi Burning. His art direction credits also include the feature films: Billy Bathgate (Key Art Director). The Firm, Housekeeping, and Jennifer Eight. He was Production Designer on The Amazing Panda Adventure and the feature Mystery Date.
James Coblentz (Editor) is an award-winning editor who was nominated for an Emmy in '95 for his work on "The X-Files." In both '94 and '95 he won Monitor Awards for his work on that show. A longtime Morgan & Wong collaborator, Coblentz was also editor on "Millennium" and "Space: Above and Beyond." His other television credits include: "Quantum Leap," "Night Vision," a Wes Craven television for NBC; and "Bing Crosby: His Life and Legend," for which he also won an Emmy nomination. Coblentz's numerous feature film credits include: The People Under the Stairs, Foxes, Runaway, Cheech & Chong's Still Smoking, and Nuts (Additional Editing).
Jori Woodman (Costume Designer) as worked on numerous feature films, including: Mystery Date, The Guilty, Stay Tuned, Lake Placid, Wrongfully Accused, Mr. Magoo, and Bliss. She designed the costumes for the Emmy Award Nominated mini-series "Titanic." In '93, Woodman worked as Assistant Designer on two features, Exquisite Tenderness and Bad Company. Wodman's costume design credits for television include the television movies: "Season of Fear," "The Laurie Samuels Story," "The Substitute," "Lake Of The Woods," and "The Soul of Laura Fairchild."
Ariel Velasco Shaw (Visual Effects Supervisor/Producer) has received both and Academy Award Nomination for Visual Effects for A Nightmare Before Christmas and an Emmy Award Nomination for Visual Effects for "From The Earth To The Moon." Shaw worked with Warner Bros. Imaging Technology as Director of Digital Production on such films as Batman Forever, A Little Princess, Space Jam and Eraser. He continued his work with Warner Bros. As Visual Effects Supervisor on the feature films: My Fellow Americans, Vegas Vacation, Selena and Contact. Shaw's numerous other credits as Visual Effects Supervisor include: Lethal Weapon 4, Armageddon, Blast From the Past and Soldier. Shaw began his career at Disney as Digital Filmprint and Optical Supervisor on such classics as: The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast and Rescuers Down Under.
Terry Sonderhoff (SPFX Coordinator) has numerous credit as a SPFX Coordinator, including the feature films: Medusa's Child, Car Pool, Streetfighter, Intersection and The Yellow Dog. He was the SPFX Pyro Supervisor on the television series "M.A.N.T.I.S." and the Universal Pictures feature Maximum Risk. He was the SPFX Coordinator on the series "Viper," and "Poltergeist." As a SPFX Assistant, Sonderhoff worked on numerous features including: Alive, Stake Out, Jennifer 8 and Legends of the Fall. |
