WELCOME TO BOSTON ENGLAND

Boston England gave the name to Boston Massachussettes.
This is a plaque that is placed in the town square (across from McDonalds)

MAUD FOSTER WINDMILL

Maud Foster Windmill was built in 1819
with 7 floors and a flour milling process
which to this day operates. There is
a tea room and gift shop providing visitors
with home baked goodies and tea.

ST. BOTOLPH'S CHURCH, "THE STUMP"

St. Botolph's Church, better known as "The Stump",
is the largest parish church in England. The
church started in 1309. The greatest part of the
church is built in the decorated style
of architecture,characteristic of the 14th
century. Parts are also fine 15th
century workmanship. The church is
also known as a calendar church as there
are 365 steps to the top of the tower,
one for every day of the year.
The church also served as a lighthouse at one
time for the many sailors on the North Sea.
You can view the beautiful inside and
the stain glass windows, hear a wonderful concert
attend a service, climb the narrow stone
stairway to the steeple as my husband Dave, daughter Kaleena
and my son Brandon and I have.
We had the pleasure of attending Christmas Eve services
with our friend Dan from the states (he used to be my chiropractor in PA)
and his son Josh. The gift shop is full of excellent gifts for
any member or any occasion.

HUSSEY TOWER

Hussey Tower is one of the oldest brick buildings in
Lincolnshire and has been owned by the
Boston Borough for over 400 years.
Once the home of Lord Hussey, a fifteenth century
nobleman and tax collector executed
by Henry VIII for treason.

These are pictures of the downtown area of Boston. On Wednesday and Saturdays
the town square shuts down from traffic and the entire area is full
of market vendors.

This is a picture of "The Stump" at night. It is absolutely beautiful and
the bells that ring are wonderful.

The Boston Harbour was not far from our house. A short walking distance in fact. These
are pictures of the docks.

These are pictures of Boston Market. The market is
held twice a week on Saturday and Wednesdays.
Lots of specialty stalls to buy items at discount prices.
Including fruit and veg, Ty Bears, Jewelery
bags, clothing, bikes, stationery, plants and sweets.
