BSB Music For The Olympics

Some of the biggest names in music, including the Backstreet Boys and Santana, will be providing instrumental remixes of some of their biggest hits to the Olympics in Sydney. The songs -- some decided, some not -- will provide the musical background to the televised events, creating a musical soundtrack for the agony of defeat, the thrill of winning, and the overall sprit of the Olympic games. In addition to the Backstreet Boys and Santana ("MariaMaria," "Smooth"), the Goo Goo Dolls ("Dizzy," "Slide"), Christina Aguilera (What A Girl Wants"), 98 Degrees ("I Do"), Will Smith ("Freakin' It"), Robbie Williams ("Millennium"), Edwin McCain ("I'll Be"), Vitamin C ("Graduation Day"), Lonestar ("Amazed"), Men at Work's Colin Hay ("Down Under"), Yanni, the Bee Gees, composer Frank Wildhorn, and Bill Ray Cyrus, among others, will also contribute songs for the occasion. The music used for the Olympics will range from Australian Aboriginal to classical, rock and roll, jazz, and hip-hop -- all from a vast array of regions and countries. The 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney run from Sept. 15 to Oct. 1 and will be televised on NBC.
