Ask Nick Carter about the Backstreet Project!

We asked you want you wanted to know about the Backstreet Project straight from Nick Carter himself. Here's the ten best questions with Nick's responses!

What were your feelings when you learned that Stan Lee was going help you with the project?

(Melissa Parker, Ridgefield,WA)

We were very excited. Most of us grew up with Stan's comics, and he is the ORIGINAL!

What was your inspiration for your comic book character?

(Amanda Thiel, Boise, ID)

I have always been fascinated by martial arts, but have never really had the time to study them, so I thought that I could do that kind of vicariously through my character.

What inspired each characters' design?

(Melissa Domingcil, Eleele, HI)

Stan really had a lot to do with how the characters look, and what they are wearing, but they are inspired by each of our personal styles'.

Why did you decide to make a comic book about you and the boys?

(Mary Plemons, Chatsworth, GA)

I came up with the idea 3 or 4 years ago, and the guys kind of said it wouldn't ever really happen, so when I talked to Stan and he was into it, I was kind of like "I told you so". Stan helped a lot, though, 'cause my ideas were like a novel, and he helped me take it down a notch to make sense in this format.

Do you plan on doing any of the actual drawings yourself in upcoming issues?

(AnnMarie Leo, Syracuse, NY)

I'd love to! But Stan and his creative team are so talented, I think maybe I better stick to the singing and let them keep up with BSP (Backstreet Project).

How did you come up with the idea for the villains of the Backstreet Project?

(Jenny Hamel, Livonia, MI)

That was really just a collaboration between Stan and I.

Hey Nick! I was wondering if you hoped this comic book would lead to more things such as action figures, a cartoon, etc.?

(Cristina Calvo, Houston, TX)

I'd love to see a full length movie of this! The first webisode is so awesome I can't wait to see more, but we'll have to see what happens. I'm pretty sure everyone knows about the BK Kid's Meal having action figures of our characters in them by now. Whether or not we will make them again in the future, I don't know yet.

Will fans be able to have a say in the creative parts of the project?

(Vibeke Arnevig, Bergen, Norway)

We always love to hear what our fans have to say. It's always possible!

How did you come up with the concept for each group member's superhero alter ego?

(Gail Scott, Bridgeport, CT)

They're all based on reality to a certain extent. Rok is all about b-ball; Howie is the peacemaker and uses his mind to be that; Kevin is the strong "big brother" that we all look up to; and AJ, well, he's always been kind of the "renegade"...it's all about the hat!
