Backstreet Boys "Black And Blue"

Here's your exclusive song by song description of one of the most anticipated albums of the year- the brand new Backstreet Boys release "Black&Blue". Be ready for some luscious ballads and brand new upbeat jams, many of which the Boys have written or co-written themselves!

1. THE CALL

(Max Martin/Rami)

Latin intro, military type of drumbeats, a distorted phone call and a chorus that goes: I will be late, don't stay up and wait for me/My battery is low, Just so you know/we're going to a place nearby, gotta go/ and you've got a breathtaking album opener that'll set the tone for the new Backstreet Boys album and sound.

2.SHAPE OF MY HEART

(Max Martin/Rami/Lisa Miskovsky)

This song is a radio favorite already and a constant TRL #1, no descriptions needed. Classic Backstreet.

3.GET ANOTHER BOYFRIEND

(Max Martin/Rami)

Upbeat song with a darker theme has another amazing chorus and pulls all the possible stops with a dramatic finale.

4.SHINING STAR

(Franciz&Le Pont, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough)

Producer Rodney Jenkins has brought in his own r&b flavor to this somewhat upbeat song that has Darkchild Productions signatures all over and surprises with an abrupt end.

5.I PROMISE YOU

(Dan Hill)

The first full-blown ballad of the album, lyrics like "I promise you from the bottom of my heart/I will love you 'till death do us part/I promise you as a lover and a friend..." will make girls hearts flutter and thousands of women swoon. Big romantic ballad!

6.THE ANSWER TO OUR LIFE

(Backstreet Boys)

Quiet piano start to this first song written by all the Boys themselves, the song then becomes up-tempo. "Is it today or is it tonight/We'll find the answer to our life."

7.EVERYONE

(Kristian Lundin, Andreas Carlsson)

Much like Larger Than Life this song could be an anthem to the legions of Backstreet fans. Upbeat, with circus effects (in a bit where they sing about living in a circus) and this could be another concert opener like Larger Than Life.

8.MORE THAN THAT

(Franciz & LePont/Adam Anders)

A song with a Latin influence, strings and heartfelt lyrics like "I could love you more than that/I won't say the words and take them back/Don't give loneliness a chance baby, listen to what I say/I will love you..more that that."

9.TIME

(Backstreet Boys)

Produced by Babyface, who also sings harmony with the Boys, smooth ballad with a dramatic chord change towards the end. A song about the passing of time and changes we all go through.

10.NOT FOR ME

(Kristian Lundin/Jake/Andreas Carlsson)

A song about a cheating girlfriend. Solid Swedish production with synthesizers. "I've got eyes to see that you are not the one for me."

11.YES I WILL

(AJ McLean/Brian Kierulf/Josh Schwartz)

Another romantic song where the Boys want you to stay and reassure them by saying "I will" (influenced by the recent Backstreet weddings?) and a huge final chorus.

12:IT'S TRUE

(Max Martin/Andreas Carlsson/Kevin Richardson)

Pretty ballad that we've all heard if we went to Burger King and bought one of the promotional CDs.

13.HOW DID I FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU

(Howie Dorough/Calum McColl/Andrew Fromm)

Reportedly Brian's favorite song on the album. Ballad with no percussion of any sort at all. A song about suddenly falling in love with your best friend.
