Bits On The Boys' New Album

Do you know every word to every song from the Backstreet Boys' "Millennium" by heart? Do you think you won't be able to live unless you hear some brand new Backstreet songs soon? Well relax, the boys are already working on their next album.

Backstreet's A.J. McLean is taking a break from the studio where he, Nick, Kevin, Brian and Howie are busily working on the group's follow-up to their smash-hit "Millennium".

A.J. paid a surprise visit to MTV's "Total Request Live" on Monday where he told revealed a few details about Backstreet's new songs to host Carson Daly.

A.J. said that the new album will be a mix of rock, R & B, hip-hop and a little bit of country. He also said that Howie is working with Babyface on a few new songs and that Nick will be playing the drums on some songs and Kevin will be playing the piano.

The as-yet-untitled album is expected to be released in September or October.

A.J. has been using his short studio break to raise money for VH1' Save The Music with a little friend from his alter ego, "Johnny No Name". A.J. has raised over $150,000 for the campaign through solo concerts.

Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough is to team up with Grammy award-winning producer Babyface for a track on the forthcoming Backstreet album.

Fellow BSB, AJ McLean, told MTV, 'We're actually just writing right now. Howie's working with Babyface.' Babyface has worked with the likes of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson in the past.

Meanwhile AJ also confirmed that the other Backstreet Boys are also busy recording the album, while he takes a break before rejoining the group on 1 July. His solo tour of US clubs, under the guise of Johnny No Name, has raised $150,000 for the Save The Music campaign to buy musical instruments for schools in the US which cannot afford them.

He also confirmed that Nick Carter plays drums on the new album while Kevin Richardson plays piano, as he did on its predecessor, Millennium. The album will feature country, R&B, hip-hop and rock and roll tracks as well as their usual pop themes.
