A Mirror Spell of Protection for the HomeCompose an altar, place a censer in the center before and image of the Goddess. Have a twelve-inch (or so) round mirror there as well. Ring the altar with nine white candles. Burn a protective incense (such as sandalwood, frankincense, copal or rosemary) in the censer. Beginning with the candle most directly before the Goddess image, say these or similar, say these or similar words: "Lunar light protect me!" Repeat as you light each candle until all are glowing. Now, holding the mirror, invoke the Goddess in Her lunar aspect with these or similar words: "Great Goddess of the Lunar Light and Mistress of the Seas; Great Goddess of the mystic night and of the mysteries; Within this place of candles bright And with your mirror nigh; Protect me with your awesome might While ill vibrations fly!" Standing before the altar, hold the mirror facing the candles so that it reflects their flames. Keeping the mirror toward the candles, move slowly, clockwise, around the altar, watching the reflected firelight bouncing off your surroundings. Gradually increase your speed, mentally invoking the Goddess to protect you. Move faster and faster; watch the light shattering the air, cleansing it, burning away all negativity and all lines along which the ill energies have traveled into your home. Charge your home with the protective light of the Goddess. Race around the candles until you've felt the atmosphere change, until you feel that your home has been cleansed and guarded by the Great Goddess. When finished, stand once again before the image. Thank the Goddess in any words you wish. Pinch out the candles one by one, bind them together with white chord and store them in a safe place until (and if) you need to use them again for this same purpose.
Spell to Protect Home and PossessionsSupplies... Sage, Incense, Censer, Bell
Perform this spell during a Waxing Moon.
Put some sage in your incense burner (censer). Walk around your home with the censer. Circle your home three times (always clockwise), then in each room of the house. Pay special attention to doors and windows and let the the smoke filter into the crevices and openings. As you walk, recite a prayer you improvise, or write one ahead of time. Say or write what you feel. This has to come from deep inside you. It does not have to rhyme, nor be a great piece of literature. An example would be : "I invoke the Goddess of Protection, I invoke my ancestor's spirits. Three times around, three times about The world within, the world without. In home and possessions, may good spirits abound Evil and problems will not stay around. Ring the bell each time a circle is completed." When you are finished inside and out, place the incense in the doorway. Open all doors for a few minutes and let the smoke drift through your home, washing it clean. You may also purify your friends. Walk around your friends three times (clockwise) and fan the smoke over them. Repeat as you circle : "I invoke the Goddess of Protection, I invoke my ancestor's spirits. Three times around, three times about. In friends or family, may good spirits abound. Evil and problems will not stay around."
A Spell of ProtectionSit or stand before any fire. Look into the flames (or flame, if using a candle). Visualize the fire bathing you with glowing, protective light. The fire creates a flaming, shimmering sphere around you. If you wish, say the following or similar words: "Craft the spell in the fire; Craft it well; Weave it higher. Weave it now of shining flame; None shall come to hurt or maim. None shall pass this fiery wall; None shall pass No, none at all." Repeat this simple yet effective ritual every day when in need."
A Protection Bottle(Also known as Witch bottles)
Pour fresh, clean sand into a long small bottle. Fill it to the top and cap it. Place the bottle near a window. This will guard against evil entering your home. In the past, the earth was thought to confuse evil spirits. They had to count every grain in the bottle before they could enter the home. Today evil spirits are seen as negativity that is around us all. The earth bottle is said to be useful in blocking such negativity from entering your home. From Scott Cunningham's "Earth Power" The bottle may be filled with things other than sand. Use items that symbolize protection such as broken glass, rosemary or other protective herbs, salt, ashes, vinegar, pins, alcohol, oak twigs, needles, nails, saliva, and blood. All of these have been used for protection at some point. As you place each item in the bottle imagine how that particular item will attack and destroy negativity. For example, visualize the broken glass cutting the negativity to shreds. When the jar is full, bury it outside your front door. Visualize the bottle stopping the negativity. Draw a banishing pentagram on the ground above it.
A Simple Salt Ring of ProtectionPreparations Mix together 1 part salt to 3 parts water. The salt can be any variety, if you have an affinity to the ocean, use sea salt. Pure spring water is recommended, but tap water will do if that is all you have. Ritual Circle the area to be protected splashing the salt-water as you go around. Do this three times. While doing each circle, repeat three times, "Thrice around and thrice repeat, all evil does this ring defeat." See the shield come up as you finish the last circle. It is done. This ritual should be done after the area to be protected has been cleansed and purified in some fashion."
Protection For TravelThings you Need: Sandalwood Incense, Blue Candle, White Candle, Purple Candle Relax and dress and empower your candles. Next call your circle and light your incense. Then set up candles with the white one in the middle with the blue and purple on either side. Light them with the white one first. Concentrate on what you want them to do. Start reciting the spell: On this day and in this hour.... I call upon a higher power... I come to you in perfect love and perfect trust. O God of the sun and earth, And Goddess of the moon and sea, I need you to protect ________ 3x3x3. Protect _______ as they travel abroad, On their journey to and fro... Keep them safe from harm and negatives So they come back alive and well. I ask this again in perfect love and perfect trust. No harm be done to none, and all be well... If you must put away your tools, try to at least keep your spell candle out in the open. This spell is used to protect yourself from mental attacks. Witch balls have been around for centuries, but is is nearly impossible (and very costly) to buy one. These silvery balls were once common fixtures in windows, particularly in England, where they were said to repel evil thoughts and curses. Most Pagans don't feel they can spend several hundred dollars to purchase such a ball, even if they could find one, but there is no reason you can't make one.(I have since been informed that modern Witch Balls are now available for around 20 dollars from a Canadian source....Kaizen) You will need a clear glass ball or Yule ornament with an opening in one end. If the glass ball has some kind of design, choose one you like or one you can change with further decoration. You will also need a bottle of silver paint found in hobby stores, a few drops of frankincense or patchouli oil, a spool of red thread, and a pair of scissors. Cover you working space with newspaper to protect against spills. Take the metal cap off the ornament. Carefully pour a little of the silver paint inside the ball and swish it around until the inside is completely covered with the silver. Set it aside to dry. When the paint is totally dry, cut the red thread into three inch-lengths. Carefully poke this thread into the open end of the ball. Continue cutting and putting the thread into the ball untill the ball is nearlyfull. Put in a few drops of oil. Then put the end back on the ornament. If it has no end, seal it with candle wax. When you hang the protection ball, chant: Symbol of the Moon, symbol of the Lady divine, Reject all negativity, defend this home (car), me and mine. This protection ball can be hung in the window of your home or in your car. Any negative thoughts or ill-wishes directed against you are reflected back to the sender. You can also decorate the outside with appropriate designs. You can put them onto wreaths or make them part of a dried flower arrangement. Programmed for protection, these little Witch balls do a very good job

Then chew up little mint leaves and say: "Great Goddess, I awake You". Then with athame cut the fruit on three parts, and say: "Great Goddess, receive this gift for exchange for protection of _________". Fold the paper on three parts and put it under the middle candle, then put a few drops of wax from the middle candle on the piece of paper and say: "May the protection of the Goddess be stuck with You...". Here's a simple safety and protection meditation. This visualization can be used around people, pets, homes, cars, airplanes, and around anything you want to protect. After doing this a few times, you will not need the candles. You will be able to visualize the ball of white light at any time and any place. If you wish to protect a loved one and you have a photo of them, place it between the candles for the meditation. (Don't let it catch fire!) ~ You may cast a circle if you like, but it is not necessary. ~ Light white candles for protection. ~ Begin the meditation: Sit down and get comfortable. Relax. Breathe slow and deep. Let all tension flow into the earth. Feel calm and peaceful. You are completely relaxed. Now visualize a beautiful white light all around you, like a bubble. It shimmers and sparkles. Now make it stronger, and then make it shine brighter. Make it grow until it fills the room you are in. Fill the bubble with love. Know that it will protect you where ever you go.
Now, to protect a loved one, picture them in your mind.See a glowing light all around them. It is just like the bubble you are in. It glows with safety and protection. Make it stronger, bigger, brighter. Visualize this as long as you like. When you are done, wish your loved one well and know that they are safe. Now prepare to end the meditation. Feel your circle of light bring you back to the present moment and the room you are in. Take a deep breath and stretch for a moment before you get up. ~ Let the candles burn as long as you like, then snuff them out. You may light them at any time you wish to strengthen the visualization and protection.
