Chapter 1
Vivian Leung – Erin Yeung aka ScorpioShe ran through the maze for the 10th time that day. The cemented maze was a complete replica of the real one, formed to keep the agents out. But even the FBI didn’t know about their secret operations. If the Hong Kong government discovered the P.R.A. (Private Rescue Agency) was developed under their nose, they would easily turn it down. Luckily for this group, the head of security developed this important group of people to help control the rich from getting richer as well as a rescue team trained to accomplish a mission smoothly and quickly.
They were an interesting group of people, the captain was a young twenty something year old that looked more like a model than a secret agent. There was only one team and only 6 were allowed in the secret. If one were to leave the team, it was because one; they were dead, two; they wanted to leave and never to speak of the secret team until their death day or three; they turned on the P.R.A. This special team consisted of the best thieves, rescuers as well as spies in the whole island country of Hong Kong.
Everyone had secret names that they individually chose from the zodiac signs. Somehow they all seemed to match their personalities. Lieutenant Lam watched from the glass room overlooking the maze. His brows crunched with a disapproving demeanor, she was one of the top agents and yet she couldn’t pass this maze. The rest of the agents were standing on the sidelines waiting for their cue to enter the maze.
Dennis flinched when Erin missed the exit and landed herself in the smoke room “Stop!!” he cried through the speaker microphone which dangled in front of him. Everyone turned upwards looking at their leader. He shook his head and nodded to Brad “Get Erin out of there!” he said with annoyance.
Brad let out a sigh as he rushed through the now opened maze and pulled Erin out of the gas chamber. He reached out to grab her hand but she yanked back “I can get out of here myself thank you very much!” she was more frustrated with herself than anything. But yet she could not control her anger, it was her only flaw. She was normally cool and collect just like a Scorpio should be.
“Not from the looks on the outside.” Brad added causing Erin to stop in her steps as she turned and gave him a cold stare. He only grinned crookedly “Your stares could burn through walls but they don’t faze me one bit. I know you better than that.”
Erin rolled her eyes “Don’t act like you’re my best friend or something.”
He laughed as he got through her rough exterior, he grabbed her by the hand and pulled her out of the maze “Come on ‘best friend’, the Lieutenant didn’t look too happy.”
Erin sighed “I don’t blame him.”
The two met up with the rest in the metal conference room, it was soundproof just in case they ever had an intruder. Everyone turned up to the two that walked in, Dennis did not meet their eyes, he was concentrating on a blank space in front of him “Sit.” He ordered while his fingers entwined.
“I’m sorry….” Erin began.
“Sorry?” Dennis’s eyes snapped up “Try ashamed, disappointed…Erin, you are one of our top agents in the history of P.R.A., how could you not pass this simple maze while everyone else has done it twice. How do you expect us to be ready for the job if you can’t even past the test maze?” while he scolded at her, her eyes remained looking at her senior. She found it more rude if she were to turn away “Could you give me a good reason why you can’t pass it?”
Brad felt bad for his best friend as he stood up from his seat “Sir, I think she’s just overworked from the last case…this one is just too much for her…”
Erin turned up and shook her head at Brad indicating for him to stop explaining, he slowly sat down as she turned to Dennis “Sir, there is no excuse or reason why I shouldn’t pass that maze. I will work extra hard.”
The lieutenant knew the girl was strong willed, not to mention she had a head of a mule. He nodded, deciding to let it go unpunished “Fine. It’s dinner time, everyone get something to eat; Erin, run the maze again.” He ordered.
Reina tapped Erin on the shoulder before she headed out “Don’t stress yourself out, I know you can do it. Give it a little more concentration.”
Erin smiled gratefully at her friend and co-worker “I know.” Brad lingered behind to talk to her “Go get dinner, I’m okay.” She urged.
“What’s wrong?” he asked straightforwardly.
“Nothing.” She replied stubbornly “Maybe I’m losing my touch.”
“Maybe you don’t want to do this anymore.” He offered. He knew she was weakening by the work when she fell behind on the last job. Something triggered in her that made her slow down “Why do you have to be so secretive? I’m your best friend.” He said earnestly.
Her lips flickered into a grin “You say it like you mean it.” She was being sarcastic again, a trait he knew too well to be a defense mechanism.
“I do mean it.” He said firmly.
Erin sighed “Just don’t worry about me.” With that she turned and walked towards the maze. Brad shook his head before heading out to get his dinner.
The agents were never to talk to each other outside of work, to keep the suspicion down everyone had a regular job, that is until the call was given to them to come. Their jobs were given to them by a higher authority that no one has ever met. Even Dennis has never met the head of security, he simply received an order through the internet program which was made especially for the P.R.A.
It was two minutes into the maze when Erin’s mind blanked out when she hit a dead end, she forgot which way she came from. The left or the right? She made a hasty decision and rushed to the right, which led her into another trap. Erin leaned against the cold cement wall and sunk down to the ground, she let out a cry of frustration and began sobbing. She could not let it go. She had promised herself to forget about the failed mission but her heart could not let it go. She had a simple job, it was to save the kidnapped boy and return him safely. Instead he was shot to death in front of her. If it wasn’t for Brad, she too would have died.
She must have gone to 10 different sessions with 10 different shrinks and none of them helped her. She found herself worrying over every mission like the last. Her cries softened as she calmed herself down. When she heard footsteps, she quickly wiped her eyes and looked up.
Andrew smiled as he bent down on his knees to Erin “It’s not your fault.” He said soothingly.
Erin stiffened her face as she stood up abruptly “I’m fine.” She began walking towards the beginning of the maze.
He followed her “I’ll give you a clue…”
She stopped in her place and spun around “No, I don’t need your help.” She said it almost too harshly as she caught herself “Sorry Andrew, I didn’t mean…” he smiled and shook his head.
“It’s okay. I understand it can get frustrating. Why don’t you use your logic? I swear Erin, you’re the calmest person I have ever met, you’ve got a good head on your shoulder, why don’t you just use it?” he was sincere as can be.
Erin snickered “Calm? A calm person doesn’t break down…or fail a mission.”
“No one is perfect.” Dennis’s voice boomed against the sound proof room. Andrew and Erin turned to him as he smiled “Andrew, could you excuse us for a minute?”
“Yeah.” Andrew gave Erin a final supportive smile before leaving.
Dennis walked over the controller of the test maze as he slammed his fist against the stop button “Do you know how each agent is chosen?” she shook her head, her eyes distant “Neither do I.”
She turned up with wrinkled brows “I don’t understand.”
“You see, everyone has a destined future. Fate brought you here, it’s a sign. Why do you think our code names are made from the zodiac?” Dennis pointed out “I can’t tell you who is in charge of recruiting or who orders us, but when you stepped foot into this Agency, you signed an agreement to be loyal until you die. I will not lie to you and say this is an easy life, it really isn’t. You have to live a double life and it will only get tougher when you grow stronger. When you grow older, this will all stop…”
Erin looked at him with a tilted head “What are you saying? You’re leaving us?”
Dennis laughed “You don’t expect me to be an agent forever do you?”
“I guess not.” She said reasonably “Who will take over?”
“Whoever the head of security thinks is ready to lead. As for me, they will let me go after the next job. I’m depending on you to stay strong.” He patted her on the shoulder.
Erin sighed “I’m afraid you will only be disappointed.”
“Don’t push yourself down Erin. Trust me, you’ve got definite potential, just like a Scorpio.” Erin smiled as she turned away blushing “Every zodiac code name are given to an agent that best match their personalities. Could you name them?”
She looked up with a smile, Erin had long ago analyzed this question “Leo is strong and has leadership skills that’s why Brad is the captain when you are not there.” Dennis smiled proudly and raised his eyebrows for her to continue “Gemini has two faces, she can change with a blink of an eye helping her to distract the enemies. Pisces is artistic and creative with the eye, she can scope out the surroundings and know when to make a move. Finally Aries is restless and always needs a new project to keep him company, that’s why Andrew is great at this job, there is always something new to do.”
Dennis clapped his hands “And that’s why you are Scorpio, with a deep analytical mind that is always aware of the surroundings. But there is a disadvantage to that…” Erin frowned and Dennis smiled “Scorpios are mysterious and holds everything inside, that’s not good.”
“Sometimes, it’s hard to open up.” Erin frowned as she turned to the maze “I’m going to try again.”
Dennis nodded with a grim expression “Okay.” He turned and left to give her peace and quiet with her own thoughts.
Erin took in a deep breath as she rushed into the maze, this time she marked the walls with a pen she carried in her pocket. Which ever one she has passed, she ‘x’ to remind herself. It was considered cheating to Erin, but she knew it was her only way to pass the maze.
****************
He was dressed in an expensive charcoal gray suit with a silver tie that brought out his eyes. His hair was slicked to the side with a wave that made him look debonaire. Darren stood by the window of his corner office and stared out into the harbor. His building was the tallest of all of Hong Kong and he was definitely the richest of them all.
Suddenly the intercom on his phone beeped “Mr. Chiu, you have a visitor.”
“I do not want to see anyone today, Janice.” Darren spoke loudly and clearly, never walking away from his view.
“Yes sir.” His secretary answered stuttering.
He let out a sigh, it was unlike him to turn down business but he did not feel like it that day. Darren slowly returned to his desk and clicked on his favorite website, horoscope.com. He was never crazy about the zodiac signs but recently he grew more intrigued and drawn to the daily horoscopes that he ran his business by it.
Darren smiled as he read his horoscope ‘Taurus: People might become a bit argumentative when it comes to romantic issues today, dear Taurus. Your instincts might be calling for you to restrain yourself and hold back while the prevailing winds of the day are urging you to strike out onto new ground. Realize that your heart may need a bit of freedom and detachment. Your sensitive nature may be causing you to read too much into the issues at hand.’
It was true in more places than one, he had recently gotten out of a rough relationship and it remains to linger in his heart. He was about to open a new business file with a well known merchant of gold, something he never touched because of the cost. He was a strong businessman, vicious at times and way too intelligent for his age. He wanted to remain in his luxurious nature but cut down the costs of running a business. He was rich enough to buy half of Hong Kong but that would mean cutting off his comfortable living style.
Darren’s mind wandered to a certain beauty he recently met when the intercom once again interrupted him “Sorry Sir, I know you didn’t want to see anyone. But a Mister Wu is insisted in seeing you.”
His eyes narrowed “It’s okay Janet, let him in.”
Chapter 2
Vivian Leung – Erin Yeung aka ScorpioErin finally passed the maze for the first time and she was thrilled when the green light at the end of the maze brightened. She burst through the door and found the rest of her crew standing there smiling with their hands clapping. She grinned from ear to ear “Thank you.”
Brad stepped up as he hugged his friend openly “I knew you could do it!”
She smiled as she pulled away “Thanks to Dennis.”
“Where is he?” Mia asked as she turned in circles “He was here a minute ago.”
Suddenly the intercom gave a loud ring “Agents, report to the glass room.” Dennis’s voice of authority came on.
Mia clutched her heart “Jesus! I hate that intercom.”
Reina laughed as she wrapped an arm around Mia’s shoulder “I’ll protect you.” The girls giggled as the five walked up to their destination.
When they settled down Dennis passed around a small laptop with a moving screen for everyone to see “This mission should be a short one. It’s a cruise that’s been taken over by a group of terrorists. Because it’s not on national waters, the government cannot stop them. We’ve got orders from the head to go ahead and sneak on the boat. Since they have held everyone hostage, the innocent people are all inside the boat, a few guys are standing guard and one is holding a gun to the ship driver’s head. Our only shot is coming in from the air at the back of the boat where there is no security.”
“How are we going to get on? I’m assuming they have weapons.” Brad asked.
Dennis nodded “Unfortunately they do. Which means…”
“Bulletproof vests?” Reina suggested.
“Yes.” Dennis smiled “But I have some bad news for a few of you with fear of heights…” suddenly all eyes landed on Mia.
Her round eyes bulged out as she shook her head “Oh no…you can find a boat and get me on there…but I’m not jumping out of any planes!” She said vehemently.
“You’ll have a parachute.” Brad pointed out.
Mia rolled her eyes “I don’t care….I’m not jumping out of any planes.”
“How about I jump with you?” Erin offered.
“No!” Mia cried stubbornly.
Andrew smiled slyly “How about I go with you?”
Her eyes narrowed disgustedly “Ew…no…definitely NO.”
He wasn’t offended as he laughed it off while Brad had a better plan “How about the plane lowers for Mia and I’ll jump with her there?”
Dennis was contemplating the idea “I guess we can do that…”
The rest looked at Mia for her answer “Fine…but I’m gonna need help.”
Dennis nodded firmly as he slammed the lab top shut “Fine, everyone go and change, your ride will be here in about two minutes, get your headsets ready and I’ll be contacting you from headquarters. We’ll watch out for the terrorist while you guys take over.”
“Yes sir!!” the five stood up and saluted Dennis.
He rolled his eyes “This isn’t the military, I told you guys you don’t have to do that every time there is a mission.”
“But we like to!” Reina answered for the group while everyone laughed.
The trip to the private airport near the harbor was short and quick. The group were dressed in black and the girls tied their hair up. All had matching sunglasses and silver headsets that wrapped around their right ears. When the plane took off Mia grabbed onto Reina’s arm and squeezed it tightly “Ow!! I need the blood to move my arm!” she yanked her arm away and Mia struggled to reach for another lost soul.
Everyone merged to one corner leaving her there to hold onto the safety bar dangling on the side. Brad felt sorry for the girl as he kneeled over and crawled over to her due to the small plane and the bumpy ride “I’ll sit with you Mia.”
Mia was glad as she quickly reached over and grabbed onto Brad’s arm, he flinched in pain but wanted to stay calm and cool. But she was cutting off the blood circulation in his arm. Reina raised an eyebrow and smiled “She’s strong for a small girl isn’t she?” she laughed when Brad nodded his head with widened eyes.
Erin looked out the window and caught the cruise ship “We’re here.” She pointed. As if on cue, the captain of the plane announced their destination.
The four began to put on their parachutes while Mia smiled in her seat “I’ll see you guys a little later.”
Brad turned to her “Nope, you’re going with us. If they lower the plane, you will crash into the waters if you jump out. This is our only shot.”
“You tricked me?” Mia’s voice screeched.
Andrew laughed “My offer still stands.”
Her eyes narrowed “I’d rather crash into the waters.” She frowned grumpily as she got up and put on her own parachute.
“It has a built in lifejacket just in case you miss the target.” Brad informed.
Mia shook her head “So there’s a chance I’ll miss the target. I might as well aim for the waters.”
Reina smiled as she crawled her way over to Mia “Come on, we’ve practiced it a hundred times. How could you still be afraid?”
Mia frowned at her friend “That was on ground not in the middle of the ocean with whales ready to eat you and sharks ready to bite.”
“Whales don’t eat humans.” Andrew said matter of factly.
“Shut up.” Mia growled. Suddenly the door of the plane opened as she let out a whimper. She grabbed onto Reina’s arm for dear life “I just want to tell you that I love you…”
The four laughed at her dramatic nature “You’re not going to die, Mia.” Reina rolled her eyes.
Brad was standing by the door “Come on!!” he cried while the wind blew everything in its path “I’ll see you guys down there!” he jumped out and within seconds he was a mere speck.
Andrew was next as he turned “See ya girls!!” he jumped out leaving the girls behind.
Erin turned to Mia and Reina “Who’s first? I’ve got to close the door.”
Reina had to practically yank her arm away from Mia’s grip “I’ll go.” She stood by the door and turned to Mia “Just stay calm.” She gave her the last piece of advice before disappearing into the open air.
Mia crawled towards the door “Oh God…I can’t do it, Erin!!” she cried while gripping on a handle. “This isn’t freaking Charlie’s Angels….I can’t fly…I’m afraid of heights and I aint as gutsy….”
Erin rolled her eyes as she reached out to Mia and yanked her hand and moved her closer to her body “Mia, calm down. You can do this. Really.”
Mia nodded slowly as she pulled her eyes away from the ocean “Just breath….could you do me a favor?” Erin nodded “Give me a push, I’m afraid I won’t-”
Before she had the chance to finish her sentence, Erin pushed her out and she pushed a button before she too jumped out after Mia. She could hear Mia’s shriek and she was still yelling something about counting to three. Erin only guessed that Mia wanted her to count before she pushed her out the plane.
Brad was the first to land on the back of the boat, he let go of the parachute when he was close enough to jump onto the platform. He rolled a few times to keep his balance and got up slowly, he plugged in his ear piece “Leo’s on board.” He checked in with Dennis.
“Good, now go to your left, there’s no one there now.” Dennis ordered.
Andrew landed with a thump but he was not injured “Aries is here. Leo where are you?” he asked into his headset.
“I’m on the left, just follow me.” Brad answered.
Reina was next as she stumbled her way onto the platform, she wasn’t as graceful as the guys. She rolled her way close to the edge of the boat before she found balance and stood up “Gemini on, where are you guys?”
“On your left.” Brad replied. He crawled towards a door leading into the main center of the room but quickly hid when a guy with a gun stood guard “Negative, there is an armed guy, find me another way Capricorn.”
“Can you go down a little further? There’s another opening.” Dennis had a good satellite view of the ship.
Mia let go of her parachute too late as it tangled her on the side bars of the ship. She was struggling to break free when Erin made the perfect landing. She ran over to her team member “Hold still.” She whispered as she pulled out a pocket knife and cut off the parachute causing Mia to tip over the edge. Erin reacted quickly as she caught her arm and used all her strength to pull the girl up.
“Thank you…” Mia breathed.
Erin smiled as she placed in her head peace “Scorpio is onboard.”
“How about Pisces?” Reina asked.
“Did she fall into the water?” Andrew’s teasing voice broke through the devices.
“Ha ha…” Mia said sarcastically “I’m okay.”
Brad frowned as he headed gingerly to the other side of the door “Stop messing team, come on! Scorpio, go on the right side and be careful, there is a guy with a gun there.”
“Copy that.” Erin nodded to Mia “Come on.” She pulled out her silent gun and lied down on the floor, she peeked over the edge and saw a guy standing guard. She had a perfect shot of his arm. She aimed and shot, the gun was especially made to make no sound when it was fired. The guy dropped his own weapon and Mia instantly reacted as she pounced on him. The girls easily brought him down as they threw him overboard. “One down.” She smiled as Mia gave her a high five.
“Good job girls.” Brad commented as he snuck into the other door, which indeed was free of terrorist. “Capricorn, I’m coming in. Team, get ready to take over."
Chapter 3
Vivian Leung – Erin Yeung aka ScorpioBrad ducked down as he entered the room with caution, his awareness level was at its peak. He aimed his gun at one of the guards “Get ready team, when I say go…” he shot at the one of the terrorist’s leg “GO!” with that the five of them dived into the open room on both sides with gunshots fired in ever corner. The people cried in fear but it was easy to separate the victims from the terrorists.
Erin was struggling with a guy that got a hold of her gun, her only chance was to throw it away to keep the guy from using it against her. The two battled out by hand with no weapons and she was quicker than he. The late night training sessions worked after all. When she defeated the guy, she turned to see her gun being picked up by a child, he had somehow got a hold of it. Erin gave a quick dive when he was playing with the trigger, she grabbed the gun from his hand “Don’t play with this, sweetie, it’s dangerous.” She smiled at the adoring child.
“Mommy…” he pointed to one of the victim group that was being pushed into a corner by the terrorists.
Erin picked him up with ease “I’ll take you back.”
Mia too was in the same situation as Erin, her gun was knocked out of her hand and she was wrestling with the guy. She gave his stomach a hard punch, but instead her knuckles burned in pain, the guy was obviously fit “What do you eat for breakfast, nails?!” she cried sarcastically.
“I eat humans for breakfast.” The guy laughed ferociously as he got the upper hand and wrestled until he pinned her down. Mia cried in pain when her head hit the floor and it made her attacker laugh louder.
When he used one hand to pin her hands above her head and used the other hand to reach for her gun, Mia took her chance as she kicked him hard between his legs. The man whimpered a cry as he rolled over and grabbed his precious jewel in pain. Mia grabbed her gun as she stood towering over the balled up man “Well, I had half a grapefruit and a toast for breakfast! Beat that!”
“Pisces, watch out!!” but it was too late, Brad’s warning did not catch her in time when a guy grabbed her from behind, his thick arm wrapped around her neck like a snake on it’s prey.
Brad pointed his gun at Mia’s attacker “Let her go.” He warned.
The guy only laughed at his weak attempt “I’m not stupid.” He growled as he picked up his walkie talkie and asked “Are we close to China waters?” The guy frowned when he didn’t get a response “Are you there?!”
“Looking for him?” Andrew asked as he pulled the guy he was supporting off his shoulder and threw him on the ground lifelessly.
“You killed him!!” the guy gripped tighter around Mia’s neck and she let out a whelp “Shut up!!” he shook her violently “Who’s driving the boat?”
Brad inched closer “That should be the least of your problems.” He saw Andrew pulling out his gun as he moved closer to Brad “Who is driving the boat?”
“Gemini.” Andrew replied “How are we going to get her free?” he whispered.
Brad’s eyes left the last terrorist to look around, he found Erin close behind Mia. He nodded at her to the left side of Mia’s attacker. She nodded in reply “What do you want?” he asked the guy.
“I want to be let free, if not, I’ll shoot her brains out!” he cried angrily “Get me a boat.”
“We’re not the police, we can’t negotiate with you.” Andrew snickered.
The guy widened his eyes “Well, who sent you if you don’t work for the police.”
Brad smiled when they had the perfect chance, the guy’s grip had loosened “We’re better than the police, we’re P.R.A.” when the guy ruffled his brows in confusion, Brad quickly added “Ever been beaten by a girl?”
“What?” the guy was even more confused but it didn’t take long for him to understand when Erin came from behind and punched him clear across the left side of his face, the guy was knocked off balance and Andrew took his chance to save Mia as he pulled her into his arms and away while Erin easily defeated the man twice her size. When he fell with a thump, she stood over him with a victorious smile.
“There’s a first for everything.” Brad said before putting away his gun and tying the guy’s hands up with their own metal wires “Good job team.” He smiled proudly.
Erin nodded at Mia and Andrew. When she felt a tiny hand pulling on her leg, she turned and found the boy she saved earlier looking up at her “What is it?” she asked while bending down to his size.
“Mommy….” He pointed to a woman who had been shot and was bleeding to death.
“Oh crap…” she whispered. She turned to Brad “We need help!!”
Brad turned to her and suddenly his eyes widened fearfully and he reacted quickly with his gun drawn out “Get down!!” he pointed it directly at the boy and Erin’s reaction was to save him as she grabbed him and covered his body on the way down to the floor. She had learned to trust Brad’s aim. She heard a loud gunshot and it gave her a flashback at the last mission she had failed. She remembered Brad saving her life and him pulling her away from the kid that was bleeding to death.
Erin’s eyes were closed and her breathing quickened. When she opened her eyes, she saw the kid was safe in her arms. She smiled softly “You okay?” she asked and the kid nodded, shivering with fear. She pulled him up and turned to see Brad towering over a terrorist that was hiding between the victims. The guy was already dead but he was shaking still pointing the gun at the guy. All the victims cowered down in fear seeing how disturbing it looked.
“Leo…” Erin too saw his scared expression. She walked over and placed one hand on his shoulder and one hand on his hands that was gripping on the gun “It’s okay. He’s dead.” She said soothingly.
Mia and Andrew exchanged glances, usually Brad was more cool and collected than that. They stood there motionless, not knowing what to say. Brad slowly let the grip go and looked down at Erin with a dazed expression “He was aiming for you.” He whispered.
Erin sighed when she understood why he was frozen, he was afraid she was going to die “I’m okay now. Anyways, we have bulletproof vests.” She pointed out.
Brad nodded slowly as he came back to reality. Suddenly he turned to the people “The boat is returning to Hong Kong harbor in about an hour, everyone stay calm while the police take a report from each of you.”
“Aren’t you the police?” a man dared to ask.
Brad only smiled as he turned to his group “Let’s get Gemini and get out of here.”
Erin turned in time to see the kid hovering over his mother’s bleeding body and her heart ached as she lingered behind. Brad noticed as he walked over to her and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder “He’s an orphan now.” She spoke softly and sadly.
He understood why she was so emotional with the kid, one because she was an orphan herself and two, he did not die unlike the last mission where she was to save the kid “He’ll be taken care of.” Brad moved his hand around her shoulder and led her away.
They met up with Reina at the front of the boat “What now?” she asked when she put the boat in automatic steering. We’re not far from the harbor.”
Brad could already see the helicopters and police cars lights flashing ready to take over. They were never to expose themselves to the police “Capricorn, we are approximately 45 minutes from the harbor, how do we get off the ship?”
“The plane will return with a ladder dangling, climb up and he will take you back to the airport where you came from.” Dennis’s voice spoke through loud and clear.
“What did he say?” Mia asked anxiously.
Brad smiled at the girl “You don’t want to know.”
Mia face fell “Great!”
He laughed as his head turned up to the sky “Right on time.” The other four followed his gaze and noticed the same plane they had jumped off not a few hours ago “Let’s go. Who’s first?” the group turned to Mia.
“Yeah…let me go first.” she said sarcastically as she prepared to grab onto the ladder “But I’m warning you guys, if I fall, I’m taking you ALL with me.” Her eyes widened threateningly but it didn’t bother anyone as they laughed at her with shaking heads.
She grabbed on and climbed up one step at a time “Hurry up!!” Reina cried when she barely finished two steps.
“Don’t rush me!! I’m trying not to look down!” Mia cried in return.
Erin started after Reina, then Andrew and finally Brad came following after. But due to Mia’s slow nature, they were dragging behind their time “Oh my gosh, can you go any slower!!” Reina teased her friend.
Mia rolled her eyes “Stop it!!” she forgot about not looking down as she turned her head downwards to look at Reina “Oh my God, I looked…I looked down…” her head snapped up and she gripped onto the rope for dear life. “Help!!!!” Her voice screeched in an ear popping high pitch scream “I can’t move…” she muttered under her breath.
Brad shook his head “Mia, just keep going, you’re doing fine. Look up, see? You’re almost there!!”
This time Mia looked up and she saw she was about 6 steps from the plane, she nodded to herself “Okay…I can do this…I know I can…I can…come on Mia!” she psyched herself out. Before she knew it, she was crawling inside the safety of the plane.
Reina crawled up and she found Mia hugging the windows sighing happily “You know that’s an escape door too.”
Mia jumped back as if the door was burning hot, she saw that Reina was laughing and knew that her friend was joking with her “You’re evil. I can push you out right now.” Reina smiled when Mia gave her a helping hand.
Then together the girls helped Erin up “Thanks girls.” She smiled as she returned to her seat and put on the seat belt. Mia and Reina too did the same.
Andrew was at the edge when he was out of breath, he was struggling with the last few steps “Give me a hand!” he cried with one hand reaching for the girls. The three exchanged glances and then began to applaud their hands. Andrew snarled at them but still managed to crawl into the plane “A woman’s heart is the most evil thing of all.”
“You said to give you a hand.” Mia said innocently “What more could you ask for?”
“Your just mad because I was teasing you on your fear of heights.” Andrew retorted.
Erin smiled at Mia, who was grinning evilly “Payback’s a bitch.” The girls broke up in laughter.
Brad was close enough to catch the last line “Who’s a bitch?” he crawled up with ease and quickly retrieved the ladder then closing the door behind them.
“Girls…ALL girls…” Andrew narrowed his eyes playfully at the girls.
“I could have told you that.” Brad snickered. He laughed when the girls eyes snapped over to him.
Andrew widened his eyes “He said it, I didn’t.”
