Mel was always a fiesty cub. When she was still young, a Simba got angry at her for taunting a Sarabi, and he ripped out her vocal cords. For a very long time she was mute, but was later healed. The scar on her throat was her very first, and the largest.
Her first and best friend was a male cub named Nagra. He saved her during a stampede, and she fell in love with him. They became mates soon after.
They began a pride called the True Outsiders, or the T(). Mel's adopted aunt Mika was SiC, and the T() prospered for a very long time.
Melainia's sister Shetani was mates with a mage lion named Fury. They had an adopted daughter named Kara. Shetani disappeared before Mel became a teen.
Mel's other sister Kitana was mates with Akira. They had many cubs, including Mel's favorite niece Siika. Kitana and Shetani were of the first to join the Dark Pride (TDP), which was ruled by Dahak, his mate Marra, and their biological son Kovu (In the AOL RPG, Kovu was Zira's adopted son..::shrugs::). Kovu was very nice to Mel when she was a cub, but under Dahak's influence, he turned... not so nice.
When Melainia and Nagra became teens, they defeated the Pridelanders and were crowned Queen and King of Pride Rock. They ruled for a long time happily...
Melainia and Nagra were blessed with their first litter of cubs, one son: Damu, and two daughters: Ukali and Umiza. Damu would be the future king, and all was well for a long time.
Soon Melainia and Nagra had another litter of 3 girls: Ua, Nieve, and Vita. Ua was always a bit of a rebel, and Vita always followed her. Nieve disappeared soon after her birth.
Ua made friends with a lioness cub named Mirage. They decided that Mel was a terrible mother, and practically disowned her. This broke Melainia's heart. Mirage and Ua made their own pride, and Vita was also a part of it.
Mirage made a large gang of lions, and they killed Melainia's second daughter Umiza. Melainia was devastated, but couldn't hurt Mirage because she was Ua and Vita's friend. Mirage began to call Mel things like "Smelly Melly", and soon everyone was against her when she had done nothing. However, Umiza had a mate, Haribu (Mika's grandson) and she had given birth to two sons before she was killed: Kivuli and Uzima. Uzima gave his life to be with his mother, and Kivuli disappeared soon after.
Melainia and Nagra adopted one son, named Askari. Melainia was also fond of Askari's mate Sapphira, later to be known as Kimbia Kakos. They had many children, but Askari later took his life. Mel continued to be close to Sapphira until she passed away.
Melainia's aunt Mika had died soon after Damu, Ukali, and Umiza's birth, leaving a young son named Akili behind. Mel took care of Akili until he was old enough to be on his own.
Three evil lions came to the Pridelands. They were Nairobi, her mate Kalahari, and their daughter Katili. Katili was a follower of Nuka, and killed Damu because he was the heir.
Melainia knew everyone disliked her now, so she stepped down as the queen. Ukali was the next in line, so she became queen. Ukali became mates with Umiza's mate, Haribu, and they had three cubs: Dasani, Athari, and Kata.
Kalahari and Nairobi kidnapped Melainia, threatening to kill her if someone didn't kill their daughter Katili (They hated her because they thought she was weak). Ua, Vita, and Mirage all felt guilty for taunting "Smelly Melly" now that she was gone, and decided that they would do anything to get her back. Unwillingly, Ua killed Katili, and Melainia was returned.
Melainia was very hurt, and soon gave birth to two cubs (Kalahari had raped her): Ramu and Hasira.
By this time, Melainia and Nagra were very old. Nagra died next to the waterhole of old age, and Melainia died a few days later.
Ukali's oldest daughter Dasani went insane while she was a cub, and was killed by Nuka. Kata had disappeared, and Athari was killed much later by an evil lioness who hated royalty. Ukali stepped down as the queen, naming her sister Ua to be the next ruler.
Ua and her first mate, Kaos, had five cubs: Weusi, Shida, Kosana, Kasirika, and Matusi. Kosana and Matusi both lived to have cubs of their own, while their three sisters vanished. Vita and her mate Kameha (the adopted son of Akili) had three cubs of their own: Moto, Sala, and Alika, who all disappeared.
Akili and his mate Ashiki had had three cubs. The two sons disappeared, but the daughter, Uganda, became mates with Mel's son Ramu. When Ua and Vita died of food poisoning, Mel's daughter Hasira became queen, along with her mate Nguru. But their reign was short lived because they disappeared soon after they had two sons (Jelani and Hatua)
Ramu and Uganda were the next to rule the Pridelands. They ruled for a long time, and had many cubs. Their cubs vanished often, though.
Melainia, along with Damu and Nieve, was rezzed, and took her son's place as ruler of the Pridelands. Damu and Ramu battled, and both died. Nieve was next in line, but she disappeared once more. Melainia vanished also after the birth of two more cubs: Kiu and Zama. Zama was killed by a Mel-hater, and Kiu commited suicide while he was still a cub.
After Melainia disappeared, a lioness named Sefeari became queen (So few of Melainia's blood was left at this point). Sefeari's great-granddaughter, Demani, was named the heir at her birth.
Kiu and Zama were both rezzed, and Kiu became mates with Demani, once again bringing Melainia's blood back into the royal line. Zama became mates with Demani's cousin Tangaza. Demani had Kiu had 7 cubs before disppearing. Only thee of their children remained in the Pridelands, Hitimu (Who very soon afterwards disappeared), Zita, and Ulinzi. Zama and Tangaza claimed the throne as the Co-King and Co-Queen, because Hitimu, Zita, and Ulinzi were all too young to take a title.
While Mel had disappeared, she was not dead. She gave birth to a daughter in her wanderings, and named her Huria. She was born under a thorn bush, and so was completely covered in scars. Soon after Huria's birth, Melainia passed away.
Melainia's spirit came to visit the Pridelands, and saw how much things had changed. She spoke to her sister Vitani's adopted daughter, Zakira, who commented on how the great lions of the past should return to the Pridelands. Hearing this, Melainia made an important decision: The decision to return to the Pridelands in a new body.
Soon after, a lioness named Hope gave birth to two cubs, whom she named Amani and Imani. Amani looked exactly like Mel did as a cub, and Imani also looked very familiar. Indeed, Amani was the reincarnation of Melainia, and Imani was Mel's niece, Siika.
Amani very quickly befriended her granddaughter, Ulinzi, and told her that her parents were not dead. Ulinzi believed that Amani had psychic powers, because she had never known Melainia. They adopted each other as sisters, and remain good friends. Amani also met her youngest daughter, Huria, and explained to her that her mother did not wish to leave her, and that no one is alone (At the time, no one knew Amani was Melainia, but some knew that Amani was someone else in a past life).
Amani and Imani had vague memories of their pasts, and some lions had already discovered who they truely are. Soon, Amani and Imani both knew who they truely were.
Amani grew up quickly, slowly remembering things from her past, especially her children. When she became a teen, she became pregnant with a few of her past children (Ukali, Ua, and Vita), a cub named Swala (who once was Ua's pet gazelle, but is now reincarnated as a lioness cub). They were born shortly after, but most of them disappeared early in life.
Amani was now once again Melainia, but she was much kinder then before. Kiu and Demani had both disappeared, so Zama and Tangaza assumed the throne. But after some trouble, they too left the throne. Following Imani's (now Siika again) council, Melainia once again became Queen of Pride Rock.
During this short reign, Melainia gave birth to a few more cubs: three sons (Ajabu, Nusuru, and Hasidi) and two daughters (Sarita and Misri). Nieve and Hasira returned also, and Nieve was named the heiress after Mel. A year (in mun-land) after her son Ramu's birth, he was reborn. But, the queen once again vanished, as did most of her children.
It was assumed that she was now deceased, and that she wouldn't return. She did have two more daughters before her last disappearance(Mizuka and Maliza), but they are missing now.
Months later, many of the older lions of the Pridelands returned. Both of Melainia's parents, Zira and Scar. Her little sister Chukia. Her aunt Nikimu. And finally, Melainia herself returned as well. She remained in the Outlands for some time, when one day when she was with Imani (Siika) and her father Scar, she saw a very familiar lion. Her only love, Nagra, had returned as well. After an emotional reunion, things really seemed to be like they were so long ago (Mel is almost two years old now!)
Along with Melainia and Nagra, many of their children returned. Huria, Sarita, Zama.. and Umiza. Ajabu returned as well a few days later.
Together, Melainia and Nagra began to reorganize their once highly successful pride, the True Outsiders, or the T(). Imani was chosen to be the SiC, since the former SiC (Mika) was dead. Nagra and Mel also made plans to reinstate themselves as King and Queen of the Pridelands by dethroning the current king and queen, Auob and Umbika.
Sadly, before the T() was up and running again, Nagra disappeared (due to OOC problems). Melainia was heartbroken, but she knew she must still complete what her mate had planned to do. She asked her sister, Chukia, to be the third in command of the T(), and she gladly accepted. Akili, the son of Mika, had returned as well, and became a member of the T().
Later, the same day she discovered Nagra was gone, Mel spoke to her father Scar about becoming the ruler again. He told her to try if she wished, and that he was always proud of her. That helped Melainia's confidence, so she climbed Pride Rock to battle with Auob. Unknown to her, Auob's mate Umbika had also disappeared, leaving him bitter and depressed. After a somewhat small battle, Melainia had won. Auob was crying, saying that he didn't care anymore since his only love was gone. His sadness affected Mel, who's only love had also left, and she spared his left to let him leave the Pridelands.
Pride filled her heart as she climbed to the tip of Pride Rock, roaring an announcement that she was once again the queen. Those who were present (Imani, Ajabu [Mel's son], Akili) roared back with great respect, which made Mel feel even better.
Once the T() was again the ruling pride of the Pridelands, it began to grow and prosper right away. Old members returned, as well as many new ones.
Melainia soon discovered that she was pregnant, but she would once again be alone to raise the cubs. Though Nagra was gone, his spirit would live on: in the T() and in his youngest cubs.
Mel soon bore five cubs: two males (Kuzimu and Kalifu) and three females (Mahiri, Katiza, and Safura). Unfortunately, due to circumstances characters can't control, Mel had very little time to raise her children, and most of them died or disappeared in her absence.
When Melainia (and her mun) had time to return to her kingdom, she found things much the same, but only a handful of her children had survived to become adults. Among them was Katiza, whom Mel trusted immediately, Safura, the peppery little albino and youngest of her children, and Mahiri, who had a slightly bad vocabulary and no pads on the bottoms of her paws due to hot desert sands. Soon after, Mel's son Kalifu also returned.
The old queen knew her time as ruler was short now, so she began to ponder about who she would choose as an heir. It seemed that Katiza would be the best choice, even though she was one of the youngest. Mel was proud of her daughter who had raised herself, for she was wise beyond her years, not to mention very beautiful. To little surprise, Katiza was chosen as the heir, despite the fact that she had no mate or children.
Soon after, Mel gave birth one last time. The small litter consisted of one male, who looked very much like Zira, and a female, who looked like Scar. The scruffy boy was called Kinara, after Mel's cousin, and the female Kita. The two seemed to fight much, but seeing how this affected their mother, they agreed to get along.. for Mel's sake.
Melainia and Kita got along very well, and Kita seemed to have the wisdom and courage to rule the Pridelands. But Katiza had already been named the heir, but Mel had a strange feeling, so she encouraged her youngest daughter to be strong and have faith in herself and her pride.
Time went by, and Melainia's parents came back to the Pridelands. Unfortunately, Katiza had "fallen in love" with a stranger male (who's mun frankly didn't seem to know what he was doing), and the male insulted Mel's family. Scar and Wastani (Mel's sister) attacked the male, but Katiza protected him, only getting herself hurt as well. Mel was ashamed of her daughter, and began to regret naming Katiza the heir. Katiza decided to run away with the new male, which broke Mel's heart.
With that, Mel knew she had to choose a new heir, and she had the perfect one in mind..
Word came from Wastani that Katiza's mate Quanzi was treating her poorly, so the two sisters gathered a group of family to go and bring her home. Among the group were Mel's son Kalifu, her daughter Misri, and her niece Cheza. But once they reached the place Katiza had been seen last, Quanzi was already fighting with a well-known demonic hyena named Edge. The fight was short, and Quanzi was killed.
Mel had the daunting task of choosing a new heir. By now, most of her children were gone. So Mel had to choose the one person she trusted more than anyone: Imani (Siika).
So.... Mel stepped down.. and Imani became queen. Imani soon afterwards gave birth to three cubs: Sizo Nqoba ("we will win"), Ndabe Zitha ("king of kings"), and Madi Ao ("spilled blood"). Melainia warned her friend that the firstborn was not always the best to be ruler.
Sizo Nqoba was Scar and Zira's favorite. He was willful, sarcastic, and sometimes just plain mean. His seemingly only friend was a lioness named Zima. Mel didn't trust the two at all..
In the mean time, Mel's health had been failing steadily. Her mother Zira tried to knock some sense into her, but it didn't work. And during this time, she gave birth once again. There were two girls (Xolo and Usiri), but Mel.. abandoned them at birth. These were the only cubs of Mel that she purposely left.
