Streets,
subway and beyond |
As much as the first part of this portfolio represents a coherent story, this here are my most favourite images of New York City, not necessarily related to each other. In an odd way, this vast city with millions of residents can be a very lonely place. An unwritten urban social contract prevents New Yorkers from being too friendly in public and any conversation beyond asking for directions is deemed highly inappropriate. Yet difficult as it is, street photography in this city is truly magical. Never before have I seen so many contrasts in one place, so much light and darkness, despair and joy packed in one Big Apple. |
