The following are some correspondences that are used for color and candle magick. *Note: Not all correspondences are going to be in agreement with how a color makes you feel, personally, if a color strikes you in a different way than listed here, go with your own feelings. White: Purity, protection, spirituality Pink: Romance, love, healing (of the mind), emotions Red: Lust, passion, energy, career oriented goals Orange: Vibrance, legal matters, ambition, business deals Yellow: Intelligence, clearing mental blocks, Happiness Green: Fertility, money, healing (of the body), growth, earth Blue: Calming, good fortune, wisdom, protection, water Purple: Psychic abilities, spirituality, higher self, hidden knowledge Gold: wealth, the male aspect (the God), humor Silver: Dreams, clairvoyance, the female aspect (Goddess), Astral energies Black: Negativity (repelling), binding, protection, balance Now that we have gone over some basic correspondences, here is a bit of information on the care, preparing, lighting, and extinguishing of candles. When preparing candles for use in a spell, you should look into what type of oil would do best with that particular spell. As you will use the oil in preparation of the candle. By doing this you put more energy into the candle, focusing it a bit deeper on the task at hand. (For instance: if I were to do a love spell I would chose a pink candle and the oil I would use for it would probably be Jasmine, although there are many choices out there that will do for this.) You will then dress the candles with the oil of choice. While lighting candles it is good to remember that most people agree it is not a wise thing to use matches while lighting candles used in spell working. This is because the sulfur in matches is not going to work well with the spell being cast. While extinguishing candles, make sure that you have a candlesnuffer handy. As it is said that your spells will dissipate when blown out. You blow the wanted affect away from you. Always keep the candle drippings from your spell working. Be sure to note that whatever must be done with the remaining candle (if any) the drippings should also be dealt with in this manner. (E.g.: you are performing a spell in which you are repelling something from you, and thus calls for the candles used to be buried in the ground… you would in turn bury and wax drippings from these candles along with it.)
