King with the crown and a field for a kingdom.
The Oakville/Burlington Longhorns have been a
team to reckon with since they joined the league,
with the Etobicoke Argonauts and the Stoney
Creek Patriots, in the 1978 expansion. Though the
others soon burnt out, the Longhorns shown they
weren't a flicker of a candle. Oakville has
captured seven straight Plaunt Memorial Trophy
Championships, no easy task. The Longhorns have
done this under the mastermind of
President/General Manager Steve Harrington, who
has completed all of these under two coaches:
long time Coach Tony Molnar from the past and
current Coach Bruce Gilroy. As well, credit is
due to Past President Brad Fevreau, who helped
bring the Red, Black and White to the base it's
at. The glorious past, played out mainly on
Bronte Athletic Field, have shown quite
ironically and consistently all first place
finishes, all semi wins over the Storm and all
final wins over the Raiders for 10-0 in '97, 7-1
in '98 and 7-1 in '99.
