A Touch of Heaven - written by Jenny Tran

Adriene 'Addy' Lai - Vivian Leung Siu Bing
Nathan Wong - Benny Chan Hao Man

She sat in her apartment in California, she just came back from the doctor's office. More test, more bad news. She coughed lightly as she sat down on her comfortable couch. Opening a Hong Kong magazine to see what the entertainment industry looks like. She saw her idol on the front page, he looked so cool and casual wearing his perfectly fitted suit. Nathan Wong, a talented actor whom she admired for 7 years now. She's seen every movie he's been in, even when he first started off in small roles. She suddenly sat up straight when she was reading the article about him. He was having a writing contest. Whoever can write the most touching letter about why they admired him will win. It sounded more like an excuse to feed his ego, but she guessed it was probably his manager's request. Afterall, the industry he worked in is all about popularity, they probably just wanted to keep his name up. Adriene got up and pulled out some paper from her desk drawer. She didn't have much confidence that she could win the contest, but she wanted to try.

He sat in his star room where the studio gave him 5 years ago when his fame began to rise. Reading one letter after another, his eyes were getting tired from reading the same words over and over 'I think you're so talented.' 'You are the most handsome actor I know.'...the list went on. He rubbed his eyes as he reached for the next letter. He made a point to read all the letters to give everyone a fair chance. His manager offered to help but he declined it, saying it wasn't professional. Afterall, it was his own fans not his manager's.

"Mr. Wong, here's the last bag." the mail guy opened his door and handed him yet another bag of mail for the contest.

He breathed a sigh of relief, thank goodness it was the last bag. He was about to go crazy from all the letters. Taking a sip from his coffee cup as he continued reading. Most of his fans were girls, there were a few guys. Suddenly a lavendar envelope caught his eye. Reaching for it inside the last bag as he opened it and began to read it:

"Mr. Nathan Wong,

I am one of your thousands...I mean million fans in California. I've watched you from "Demons and Gods" to "Investigation Files". A seven year gap. I loved all your movies but I must be honest, your role as the mad killer made me laugh so hard. Not because you played a complete lunatic but simply because I didn't think you fit that role at all. Your face was too sincere, I thought it was hilarious how they attemped to dye your hair blond to make you more...oh, what's the word...dangerous? It was just not you. Im glad you came back to your senses and did more practical roles as cops and nice guy." Nathan smiled as he remembered that agonizing day they took five hours to get his hair to a bleach blond. "The role where you took my breath away was from 'Love is Blind', the most perfect role of a confused guy who couldn't choose between two girls and ended up leaving them because it was too much for him. I can somehow imagine you to be that guy. Wanting to give your heart to only one girl, he would much rather give up his love then to have a heart wrenching decision to chose one and hurt the other. I admired your role so much. Unfortunately, I cannot say that Iam your number one fan because I don't even have a poster of you in my room. Although I did buy that first and only album that you did back in 96, it wasn't the greatest but it was an attempt to singing. Between you and me, Im glad you stuck with acting. Anyways, my letter must be boring you. Actually, I don't even know if you read these yourselves or your managers and producers help you.

Sincerely,
Adriene Lai"

He sat back on his seat, smiling thoughtfully. Knowing that he had found his winner, he looked at the remaining letters. There were at least another hundred or so, he couldn't possibly read another after reading this one. But he had promised that he would read all the letters. Sighing as he pushed himself to pick up another letter and began to read it. Every so often he would pick up Adriene's letter to read it again. Smiling to himself each time, it kinda gave him a boost to read the other letters after seeing hers over and over again.

Adriene was at her apartment again, her hacking cough taking over as she held onto her stomach in pain. Her throat was killing her. She had stopped working over a month ago, but she was so bored at home. Her parents were always out looking for doctors to cure her. It was useless, how do you cure an infection that won't go away? She had this cough since she could remember, it got worse as she got older. At age 26, she wondered how she would ever live past that year. The cough would eventually kill her. She knew what was becoming of her, even if her parents tried to comfort her.

Just as she thought of them, they came through the door "Addy, we're here." she came out of her room as she looked even more pale then before. Her mother looked up with concern "honey, how are you feeling? You need some medicine?"

"No, Im fine." she forced a smiled. Those medicine didn't help her one bit, she had stopped using them since she was 15. Of course her parents never found out. "Is the mail here?" Its been a month since she sent the letter to Hong Kong. She knew there was no chance in her winning but she was just curious.

"Right here." her father handed her the mail with her name on it.

Running through it as she stopped at one addressed from Hong Kong. She opened it and skimmed through it. "Oh my, I won." she said softly.

"Won what?" her mom asked as Adriene handed her the letter. "What did you enter? A contest?" she was starting to worry for her daughter again. She didn't want her to do anything active, just stay home and rest.

Looking into the envelope she instantly saw one first class ticket to Hong Kong. It was pre-paid and everything. She smiled for the first time in months. "Im going to Hong Kong." she had already decided and there was nothing her parents could say to change her mind.

"No, Addy. You have to rest. Do you remember what the doctor said?" her mom's eyes began to gloss over.

"Mom. I know you want me to get well, but I know myself more than anyone else. Im sick and there's no cure. Can I have one dream come true before I die? I really want to go to Hong Kong."

"I know sweetie. But you don't even like that place." she was trying anything to keep her daughter near her.

"No, YOU don't like that place. The only reason why we left Hong Kong was because you said the air wasn't good for me so we moved to San Francisco. But it didn't help did it?" she threw a pleading look in her dad's direction.

"Thats true sweetie, why don't you let Addy go? If its her dream then why not? It might be her last chance..." his voice quivered at the thought of losing his daughter.

"Oh, stop. I've come to terms with death, why can't you?" she grinned at her parents. She really didn't care about death, everyone has to die eventually. "Im just going to heaven before you thats all."

Their goodbye at the airport was long and emotional. It was almost like it was the last time they would ever see their little girl. Adriene hugged her parents tightly before she boarded the plane "I love you." she said to her mom then her dad.

The trip was agonizingly long. She forgot how bumpy the plane could get. The landing was even worse as the plane came to a halting stop, she unbuckled her belt and joined the slow line leading outside. She didn't know if she was to take a cab or someone would pick her up. When she got off the plane and into the airport, there was no one with signs to lead her anywhere. Holding her baggage as she walked out to the parked taxis. Waving her hand at one when she noticed a huge long limo a few feet down. Girls hovered around it in awe, like it was made of diamonds.

The driver was standing at the hood as he held up a sign that read 'Welcome, Adriene Lai.' She walked over to the man holding the ridiculous sign "Im Adriene."

"Oh, Miss Lai. Please come in." he went to open the door for her as he pushed the adoring fans away from the entrance.

She stepped into the limo not expecting to see anyone else "Well, its a pleasure to finally meet you."

She jumped in her seat "Sheesh, you scared me!" she cried out as she clutched her stomach, which made a few flips.

"Is that any way to greet your idol?" he teased. He couldn't see her face very clearly so he turned on the light. "My, you were a lot better looking than I thought." he joked.

She laughed "It must be the light" she replied humbly.

"Maybe. I guess I look like a God then." this time they both laughed.

The ride was comfortable as he chatted with her about her backround. She never once mentioned her fatal disease. There was no point. She was just spending a day with him.

The limo took her to the hotel which was set up for her, she got out of the limo "Thanks for the ride." smiling at her new 'friend'.

"You're welcome. I'll pick you up tomorrow." waving goodbye as the limo took off. He smiled to himself. She was very comfortable with him. Not the least bit nervous.

He had a long day planned for her. Dim Sum at the famous restaurant, they make the best steamed pork buns. It happened to be her favorite. He took her to the studio next, showing her every inch of space they had. She was more amazed by the amount of equipment that they had to use. Their lunch was casual on the studio grounds. It was a fake park where they used to shoot secluded scenes.

"So...how's the day so far?" he asked while he munched on his lunch.

"Its been...okay." she said sincerely.

He stopped chewing "Okay? Oh no, thats not good. Not good at all." he put down his food as he took her hand, pulling her to her feet.

"What? Im not finished." she giggled when he took her sandwich and put it on the bench they were sitting on.

"No one has an okay day with Nathan Wong!" his voice was teasing as he led her to a studio room. Turning on the lights, she gasp at the scene before her. It was a huge ballroom with a tiny stage in the front. The colorful lights hung perfectly diagonal across the ceiling. Playing music from a hidden radio, he walked back to her. Putting one hand behind him as he bent over and put out the other hand "May I have this dance?" he asked politely.

"Sure, but I have onion breath." she joked.

"I love onions." he pulled her close to his body as he wrapped an arm tightly around her waist. Swaying to the music as he exaggerated each move with such drama that it made her laugh. She instantly started to cough, she was trying to calm it down but it wasn't helping. "Are you okay?" his full attention on her. It was the first time he saw her cough like that.

"Im...Im okay." she took a deep breath. Smiling as she pulled his hand, leading him back to their little picnic. The dusty room was too much for her throat. "Ahh...fresh air." outside was much better.

He was careful not to make her laugh the rest of the night as he took her to a restaurant overlooking the beautiful city lights. He requested a seat by the window "I wonder if its a mistake to request this seat. You're only looking outside."

She smiled "Its the first time I came back to Hong Kong after 24 years. Its so beautiful." her gaze quickly returned to the scene.

He pulled her face back using his fingers "Look, Ive seen this view almost every week of my life. It looks the same. Now I want to enjoy this view longer than a minute before it leaves me tomorrow." he was talking about her.

"Oh gosh, its a sickly view if you ask me." she sat back, uncomfortable at his gaze. "I might not leave so soon. I kinda want to stay here."

Nathan's face lit up "You are? You're staying here forever?"

She smiled "Maybe." it was a double meaning.

"Well, then we don't have to cut this date short. I didn't even get to show you what I do in action."

She covered her mouth in shock "Nathan! What you do in your privacy is none of my business!" she whispered loudly. She looked around to see if anyone was listening.

He laughed while his face turned a beet red "I didn't mean that! You nasty little mind." he waved a finger at her.

The nighted ended fast when he took her back to her hotel. "Well, good night." she began to walk into the glass double doors when he called out to her.

"Hey, Adriene! When do you want me to pick you up?"

She looked at him curiously "You mean the contest prize is longer than a day?" she joked.

He smiled shyly, he had to admit the day was amazing for him. "Im a little greedy. I had way too much fun. You couldn't possibly deprived me of another day. Or maybe three?" his puppy eyes were too affective.

"Alright, but Im just afraid I will bother you too much. Don't you have to work?"

"Sure, but as long as you stay quiet on the set, they can't say no. I never bring guests on the set."

She looked away thoughtfully before answering him "Okay, you got a date!" walking quickly back into her hotel.

He stood there smiling to himself even when she was long gone, he couldn't help but wonder where she's been his whole life. Noticing the little crowd of fans beginning to gatter before him, he waved to them before he raced back into his limo.

The studio was busy with people as the director silenced everyone "Action!" the magic words seem to work as the whole set was quiet. The actors began their roles.

Adriene stood nearby as she watched Nathan. He seemed to be distracted as he acted. His gaze would bounce to her every so often. "Cut! Nathan, who are you looking at?" everyone turned to the direction he was staring at. It was Adriene. The director got up and walked over to Adriene. "Im sorry, but you are distracting my actors."

"Uh..." she wasn't sure how to react.

"Director. Wait...Im sorry." he rushed to Adriene. "I'll concentrate this time, don't kick her out. I like her here."

The director looked at both of them and nodded.

The scene was done perfectly the 20th time. She spent the whole day with him as he worked on three scenes. When they left, it was close to 9pm. She was extra tired as she yawned widely when he drove her home. "Im sorry, I must have bored you to death dragging you out there to watch me act."

"Of course not!" she shook her head vehemently. "I loved every moment of it!"

He laughed at her seriousness. "You sound so fake. But I know you mean it. Anyways, Im not letting you out of my sight. I mean, your parents would kill me if I lost their daughter."

The mention of her parents made her face fall. She missed them so much. "I miss them."

"You want to go home?" he couldn't hide his disappointment.

She shook her head "No, I want to stay here until..." she couldn't finish.

"Until what?"

"Nothing...maybe for a few months."

"You're going to stay in the hotel for a few months?"

"Oh, I almost forgot about it." she didn't think about her bill. It would be outrageous if she lived in the hotel.

"Why don't you come live with me? My house has five extra rooms. I get lonely there sometimes too. If you want, I'll make you pay rent and everything." he was kidding about the rent.

She was quiet for a minute "Aren't you afraid of rumors?"

He laughed "Is that what you're worried about? I don't care, its part of my work. Free publicity stunts without the drama. It'll give the reporters something to write about." his smile turned to worried "Are you afraid?"

She shook her head "Of course not. I don't care what people say. Its my life. Anyways, its not like it matters..." her voice trailed off. 'Gosh, I've got to stop doing that!' she scolded herself.

"What?" he wasn't sure he heard her correctly. He was too busy admiring her stubborness.

"Nothing." he dropped her once again at her hotel. "Same time?"

She smiled "Same time."

The next morning Nathan showed up extra early, even before the sunrise. He called her hotel room and woke her up extra early, she didn't seem to complain about the wake up call either. Driving his beamer to the top of the hill where most tourists come to take picutures, he wanted to give her a little surprise since she loved the view so much.

He noticed that she was quiet most of the ride. When the got on top of the hill, he finally broke the ice "Is this your first sunrise?"

She nodded, waiting for the magnificent view appearing before her. She told herself years before that she would one day watch a sunrise with her first love. But as time went by, she knew she was too sick to fall in love with anyone. "Its beautiful, I could never get tired of this view."

He was busy looking at her, there was something different about her. She wasn't nervous around him, she didn't care about rumors and there was something refreshing about her. "Not if you see it everyday for the next few months."

She smiled as she turned to face him "Sometimes, its the little things that count in life. When you learn to appreciate them, you'll realize that the bad stuff is really tiny in comparison."

He smiled at her words, she was very optimistic, he liked that in a person.

Later that day, after he finish shooting his last scene, he helped Adriene pack her clothes and moved it in his large home. She called it a mansion but he laughed, saying it was a closet compared to some of the homes that the other celebrities had.

Just as he suspected, reporters and paparazzi's flooded outside his gated home. They snapped at any person they saw inside the gates. Nathan tried to cover Adriene as they got out of the car, but she seemed oblivious to the cameras and cries of the reporter. Shocked by her courage, he finally asked when they were inside the house. "Weren't you nervous out there? Even I still get nervous when someone privately snaps their camera at me."

She laughed "What's the use in being nervous? It just gives them something to wonder about. If there's nothing between us, why should you care?" She noticed he looked uncomfortable "If you think this is a bad idea, I will leave this minute, no questions asked."

"NO!" his quick answer was surprising. "I mean...you don't have a place to stay. And you said you were just staying for a few months right? I don't mind, I actually need the company."

She smiled as she shrugged her shoulders "It doesn't matter where I live." Picking up her luggage as she walked up the long stairway and into her room on her left. It was so plain and simple, with a bed and drawers next to it. The sheets were a sky blue to a navy blue. She looked around admiring the decorations. She wondered if he bought the new furniture for her.

The next two months past by like a blur to Adriene. She often coughed herself to sleep, but of course he couldn't hear because his bedroom was across the hall from hers. It was his way of respecting her space. Nathan was talking to himself one night when he heard someone downstairs. Getting up in his plaid pajamas, he saw the lights in the kitchen. Walking down, he saw Adriene getting some water. "The chicken to salty for you?"

She heard him coming down too but didn't turn around because her face was as pale as a ghost. "No, it was the broccoli." smiling to diverge his attention from her white face.

He didn't seem to notice as he went on "Hey Addy, did I tell you about this actor's convention coming up in a few weeks?" she shook her head "Well, its really fancy and everything. How about you come along? I would love for you to be my partner."

She smiled "Oh, I don't think so. Im not good when it comes to mingle with people."

He laughed "Oh, you're alot better than me! Please? I really need a partner, you don't want me to look like an idiot, coming alone to a party don't you?"

"If you put it that way. Sure, I'll come along."

"Great!!" he looked estactic as he bid her good night and jogged up the stairs to his room.

Smiling as she watched after him, suddenly she stopped smiling 'I can't be falling for him.' That was the last thing she needed, dying with an unfinished feeling.

The party came as quick as the morning, Adriene got ready as Nathan waited patiently. He had bought her a fitting dress, the color of ruby red. It was her choice, she wanted something bright and cheerful. "Im warning you, most of the girls there will be in black or blue. You're going to really stand out." he teased.

"Thats fine, people will be staring at the guy that bought his date a red dress. They would hardly notice me."

"I really doubt that." he shook his head playfully as they continued on their way to the party.

He was right, all eyes were on Adriene as they walked through the doors. She didn't seem to notice nor care as she looked around in awe. Recognizing most of the movie stars immediately. "You're not gonna go star crazy on me are you?"

"Oh...you never know..." her voice was threatening but still with a touch of tease.

He took Adriene around and introduced her to his star friends. She was polite and funny with a few of his closer friends. Suddenly a girl in a red long dress walked in. Her slit was up to her thigh and her back was bare from the long cut in the back. All eyes were on her, even Nathan had to glace for a few seconds. She had a sultry appearance around her as she gracefully walked over to him. "Nathan, its been a while."

Adriene knew it was the actress that was rumored to be an item with Nathan. Noticing his uncomfortable posture, Adriene touched his arm gently "Honey, aren't you going to introduce us?"

He seemed to snap out of the daze as he realized Adriene was trying to help him. "Oh yes, this is Miss Adriene Lai. Addy, this is Jacqueline Hui."

Adriene smiled politely "Its a pleasure to meet you." putting out her hand as the actress shook it firmly.

"My, a girlfriend, so soon? I thought you were waiting for me?" she teased. Her eyes never leaving Nathan, it made him the more nervous.

"Im sure there's a lot of things you don't know about Nate." Adriene smiled slyly at the beautiful women before her. She knew about their backround, as a publicity stunt, their managers started a rumor about them dating. Causing Nathan's new girlfriend at that time to dump him. He was heartbroken, now everytime he saw this Jacqueline women, his legs would shake with nervousness. "Come on honey, lets dance." Taking his hand in hers as she led him to the dance floor.

He smiled thankfully at Adriene as they began to dance "You are an angel!" he gushed "I didn't know how to handle the situation."

"Yeah, it was a little obvious." her voice full of sarcasm.

"Well, well, well am I detecting a bit of jealousy?" his attention returning to the girl in his arms.

She giggled "Yeah, jealous that I can't be so cool like you."

"Well, I do have a reputation to live up to."

Adriene's face turned serious "You know, I might be really naive when it comes to your type of business. But don't you think that you worry too much on reputation? I mean everyone has this idea of you, yet the Nathan Wong that I know doesn't match the person in the magazines that reporters write about."

He smiled thoughtfully "Thats because I have my own life to live. Just because I appear to be the cool and sophisticated man in the papers. It doesn't mean I have to be that way at home. You need to be comfortable around the people that you enjoy being around."

"Well, to tell you the truth, I think people will grow to love the real Nathan Wong more than this 'ideal' movie star that you are trying to live up to. Afterall, I've seen the real you and trust me, the girls will adore you!" she was trying to boost up his confidence.

"Really?" his eyebrows raised as he pulled her in closer. "When you say 'girls' does that include you?"

She blushed "Well, what does it matter to you?" suddenly she covered her mouth. The cough was back again. This time she felt it coming fast and hard.

His face turned to worried as he watched her coughed. It was worse than the first time he saw her cough. "Addy, are you okay?" he asked while everyone began to surround her. "Give her space, damn it!!" he yelled at the crowd. They quickly backed away, he noticed that he was yelling, but he didn't care. Turning back to Adriene, she was still coughing. "Let me call an ambulance." he said when she didn't stop.

Her face was red as tears filled her eyes. She was in pain as she clutched tightly to her stomache and with her other hand she stopped him from calling the ambulance. "No...(cough)...there's no use..." she felt dizzy as she let go of her stomach and put both hands on his arm for support. Her legs gave way as she slowly fell backwards.

Nathan was quick to catch her slim body as it toppled backwards. "Addy!" using his free hand to dial the police. The ambulance came within minutes as they carried her out. Nathan was by her side for the whole ride. The nurses wouldn't let him in as they took her through the testing room. He stood outside waiting impatiently. For months she lived with him and he never once sensed that she was sick. But after that night, he knew she had some explaining to do.

After a few hours, the doctors came out "Mr. Wong? Does your friend have any relatives here?" he recognized the actor instantly.

"None that I know of. Is something wrong with her?" he asked anxiously.

"Well, I would much rather talk to her family. But it seems she knows of her condition. You can see her if you want."

Nathan rushed to her room, she seemed to be resting as he carefully closed the door. Sitting on the chair beside her bed, he stared at her peaceful face. Reaching to push some strands of hair away from her eyes. Adriene snapped open her eyes, smiling as she sat up "Hey there. I must have made some scene back there huh?" she joked.

His face was serious "Were you ever going to tell me?"

She knew what he was talking about "Tell you what?" her eyes dodged his.

"Don't lie to me, Addy. I know your sick. Whatever it is, you better tell me."

"Can't this wait?" her voice was tired "I want to go home. I mean my temporary home."

"Okay." The drive home was quiet as both felt a thick tension growing between them for the first time. She plopped on the couch with a sigh of relief. He was right by her side "Well? Im not getting any younger."

"Don't be so serious." she smiled.

"If you consider me a friend, then you will tell me." he was getting upset. She was being too secretive.

"A friend doesn't push another friend to tell him something she doesn't want to tell."

"Well, how about for someone you like more than a friend?" he finally asked what he's been pondering for the past week.

She snickered "I don't like you in THAT way."

"Adriene Lai, don't you dare lie to yourself. I know you are feeling those same sparks that Im feeling. There is something definite between us and you know it!"

"Don't have such a big head Nathan. Just because you're a movie star doesn't mean every girl that admires you will fall in love with you." her voice was more harsh this time.

"Can you look me in the eye and tell me that you don't have feelings for me?" when she refused to look at him, he grabbed her face and turned it around to face him. "Now tell me."

"No, I can't. Don't you understand? Im sick, I can die any minute now. I don't want to get involve with anyone. Yes, the past few months was magical for me, but it doesn't take away this disease that I have! The last thing I need before I die is love! To leave it unfinished. Before I met you, I was ready for it and now? I don't want to die." tears rolling down her cheeks as she finally said what she was feeling.

He quickly hugged her "Im sorry. I didn't mean to make such an impact in your life. But let me tell you something. You have been the best thing that's happened to me. You've taught me so much and Im just sad that we won't get our chance." his eyes welled up with tears. Suddenly he pulled her away from him "Addy, lets get married." his face brightened with the thought.

"Are you crazy?" she shook her head, smiling through tears at the wild idea.

"No, Im serious. That way you'll be complete before you..." he couldn't finish it.

She shook her head sadly "Don't be silly, that won't make me complete, it will just make me more sad. If we get married, I will want kids, then see my kids grow up, then see my kids get married and have their kids. A life isn't complete when you stop at a marriage. I mean how will you feel when you have to hold your dead wife a week or a month after your marriage date? Its not fair for you Nathan and I won't allow you to do such a ridiculous thing."

"But I love you, Addy. I honestly do, with all my heart. We may not have the perfect life, but I do want you to be happy for your remaining days." he was so sincere that it made her cry all over again.

"I know somewhere in your heart that you love me. But love to me means being happy for the one you love by all means. I do care for you deeply, but I also know that Im dying. Soon. I don't want you to live with a burden of a lost love. I want you to be happy, to live on with your life. To give love another chance. For me, please."

He nodded, unable to speak. He hugged her close, afraid to let her go. They ended most of their days like that for about the next 10 days.

When one night, he noticed that she was coughing longer than he remembered. They cuddled that night on the couch again. She leaned on his chest comfortably. Throughout the night, she dazed in and out of her sleep. Nathan often gave her a little squeeze when he felt that he was losing her. She had told him that she felt herself dying. He stayed awake the whole time with her, not saying a single word just holding her close to his heart. When it seemed like hours had past, she finally asked "What time is it?"

"5:30am"

"Can you take me somewhere?"

He knew exactly where she wanted to go. Putting on a jacket for her as he drove her up the same hills that she made him take her almost every morning. He couldn't bare to see the sunrise again, because this time it would be their last time. Opening her car door as he carried her out, a warm blanket covering her cold body. He set her down on a bench as he took his place next to her. Putting his arms around her as they sat there in silence, waiting for the sun to rise.

"Nathan, can you do me a favor?"

He nodded his head as he wrapped both hands around her protectively "Anything for you."

"Don't be sad."

How could he not be sad? She was about to die and he couldn't do anything about it. He felt defenseless and weak for the first time in his life. But he didn't want her to be upset so he nodded his head.

She pushed away to look up at him. "No, Im serious. Don't think of me as a loss. I don't want to leave this world making the people that I love sad. I want to make some kind of a good impact, you understand? Think of it this way, we'll meet again in heaven." her pale face staring at him pleadingly.

He nodded his head "You've made more than an impact on me. You've changed me. Addy, you've taught me more about life and love then I could ever learn on my own or by someone else. You're like a touch of heaven to me."

She smiled "Thank you. Even if you are lying about not being sad. Can you do me another favor?" He was choked up as he finished his words. Unable to speak so he just nodded. "Mail my parents the letter in my desk drawer of my room. I wrote the letter days ago, the address is on there. I didn't want to leave them without saying a proper goodbye." she leaned in closer as she shivered.

"I'll handed to them myself." his voice quivering.

She smiled. The magnificent orange sun rising slowly over the ocean. The light shining through her eyes as she watched with delight. Closing her eyes slowly as the sun rised above them. He felt her go weak in his arms as he held onto her more tightly. Tears falling uncontrollably as he began to rock her back and forth hoping that she would wake up one more time. Bringing her face to his as his tears dropped onto her cheeks. After a long moment, he carried her back to the car. Leaving this time with a newfound love of the sunrise. Nathan would often come to watch the sunrise to remember her words. He was no longer sad, but just content for he met a real life angel.

**I hope that you will see death as a new beginning and not an end. We shall meet again in heaven.**
