The Secret Behind Glass Walls

Chapter 13

Nick Cheung - Andy Chu
Vivian Leung - Julie Cheung/Lai
Louis Koo - William Lai
Joyce Tang - Cass Lam
Sunny Chan - Leo Fung
Annie Man - Leann Fung
**Benny Chan – James Chung

Julie breathing quickened as she realized it was her final breath. The machine lifted its metal leg up, she could hear Andy and Will’s desperate cries for the madman to stop. But all she could hear was laughing. She closed her eyes not wanting to see what was to happen before her. She held her breath only to let it out when Hung Fung called out to the machine “Stop.”

“Dad?! Why?” Leo argued.

Julie opened her eyes and the heel of the machine’s foot was an inch from her face. She turned to see all the machines had stopped. Andy rushed over to Julie as he pulled her to her feet, he hugged her roughly “You okay?”

She nodded like a zombie “Something’s wrong…Ga Jei…”

Hung Fung laughed loudly interrupting their intimate moment “It’s not fun if you’re distracted.” He clapped his hand loudly and one of his men brought out Cass, her hands were tied behind her back. “I forgot to give you this little gift. Cass Lam, half sister of Julie Cheung. Same mother different father, am I right?”

“Ga Jei!” Julie rushed to her sister but was held back by Andy.

“Don’t, he won’t hurt her yet.” He whispered.

“Let her go!” Will cried angrily “She’s innocent!”

The evil man laughed wickedly “She may be innocent, but she comes in great use to me. Now, if I were to ask you to join me, what would you say?”

“Never.” Julie said firmly.

“So you want to see a show, don’t you?” the elder man waved for his son “Let’s take Miss Lam to visit with PX11, we never tested to see how strong he was.”

Leo smiled “Yes, father.” He turned to James with his hand out “Control, please.” In his hand was the toy monster control as he gave it to Leo. “Bring her over.” He commanded. The guard pulled at Cass roughly as he handed her over to Leo.

“NO!!” Julie cried as she charged towards them but once again Andy stopped her.

He yanked her around to face him “She’ll be fine, trust me.” His eyes urging her to do so. She had tears in her eyes as she shook her head “Julie, if you don’t believe me, watch.” He pointed to Leo who was yanking at Cass’s arm. He pulled her to the center as he slowly took off the ropes that tied her hands together.

The minute he did, she twisted around and grabbed him around the neck and twisted one of his arms around his back “Don’t move or I’ll slice your neck apart.” Cass threatened as she turned her wrist activating her weapon inside her watch. It was a shape of a long pointed knife. Cass turned to the elder man “You try anything and I’ll stab this thing through his neck.” She warned.

The man’s face hardened “Who are you?!” he cried in anger, being that he had overlooked this girl he thought was defenseless.

Julie, Will and Andy rushed over behind Cass “Ga Jei! I didn’t know you can defend yourself.” She wiped the tears as she smiled at her sister.

Cass kept her eye on the evil man but her smile was for her sister “There are things you don’t know about me too, Agent Cheung.” She glanced up at Will, whose expression she would never forget. He was half shocked and proud at the same time. “Andy, did you contact headquarters?”

“Yeah, they’re on their way.” He replied. Julie turned to him, her eyes wide while he winked at her “If I told you, who would have saved us in the time of need?”

Julie shook her head “My sister, a spy. I would have never dreamed of it.”

“You’re not the only one in the family with the spy blood.” She joked. They turned back to reality with the evil man fuming before them.

“Spies!! You’re not getting out of here alive!” he threatened. “What other surprises do you have?” he threatened.

Andy stepped up with a smile “You’ll be glad to know that Mr. Anthony Lung has been arrested for attempted world domination as such yourself will be handed to the government as well.” The man only grew angrier with each word.

“Let Leo go.” He said through clenched teeth, his fists were tightened.

“You’re not getting your son back then.” Cass said coolly.

Julie stepped forward with a crooked smile “There’s one thing I’m a little curious of.” The man directed his attention to her “Leann.”

“My daughter is innocent, if you lay a hand on her, I will make sure you don’t live to see sunlight.” The man eyes were full of fire.

“I know she’s innocent.” Julie said calmly “But what would she say if she knew her father was the madman behind the plan to destroy mankind and take over the world? The father she grew up to know and loved. The person that use to read to her before she went to sleep? I’m curious to see her reaction.” Her eyes moved behind the group “Leann, you can come out now.”

She was hiding behind the corridors the whole time. Her eyes drenched with tears as she stepped out of her place. Leann’s eyes remained on the ground as she spoke through sobs “Daddy…how…could you?” she was disappointed and shocked.

“Sweetie, don’t listen to them. They’re just spies, this is just an experiment, I wouldn’t kill anyone, you know it.” The man tried one last time to convince his daughter.

Her head snapped up “Don’t lie!” she whipped her hand to the side “How many lies have you told me? All this time, I thought you were resting.” She looked up at her brother who was a victim in Cass’s grip “And you! You disgust me. Both of you.” She turned to run towards the trap door.

“Stop her!” the man ordered.

James was the closest as he grabbed her around the waist “Let me go!” she fought against him but it was useless, he was stronger.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, your own daughter. You do deserve the name ‘Madman’.” Julie said with sarcasm.

“Shut up!” the man turned angrily “You four are next. If you know what’s good for you, you will let him go.”

Will yanked the toy control from Leo’s hands “Are you threatening us?” he pushed on a button that sat on the chest of the machine. A loud bleeping sound appeared from behind one of the rooms. The monster came crashing through the steel door as he stomped his way over to them. It stopped at Will’s command. “I don’t think you’ll get the chance to try this one out.” He dropped the control to the ground and pulled out his laser gun as it spat out blue beams destroying the control. The machine cried out in pain as if it was dying. After a minute its head sank slowly down and there was no more sound coming from it.

Andy smiled “You may have tricked us here but you’re not going anywhere.” He looked upwards and they could see through the glass walls the helicopters were surrounding the building.

“PX11 awake.” They heard the voice of James commanding the monster. Will looked up at the monster before him as its head began to move up. “Destroy.”

“NO!” Leann cried out as she tried to wiggle from James’s grasp.

The monster’s arm began to whip around violently hitting everyone in its path. The group fell from each knock. Andy reached for Julie as they raced to the secret hall leading up to the main control room. “Come on.” He fought against five guards while Julie tried to open the control. She turned in time to see Will and Cass fighting with the monster.

“Ga Jei! Will! Come over here!” It looked like a mad room with fights going on everywhere.

“You guys go first!” Cass cried as she dodged the punch that came her way.

“NO!” Julie cried back, she eventually got the door to open as she turned to see Andy beating the last of the five guys. He rushed over to her “Will and Ga Jei!” she said hurriedly.

“Save yourselves!!” Will cried in the mist of the fighting.

Andy knew they would be able to hold on a little longer as he grabbed Julie by the hand “I’ve got a plan, come on.” They raced to the control room. When they got there, Andy looked around for the right controls. He pressed on a button that he commanded the human machines. “Attack PX11.” He ordered through the microphones. The group downstairs watched as tons of machines filed out and began to attack the one monster machine. Andy waved to Cass and Will as they were freed with ease.

“Why are we running away? Don’t we have backup?” Cass asked, while the four rushed towards the stairwell that led to the ocean.

Andy shook his head “It’s just lights flashing from the harbor. The Unit wasn’t aware of tonight’s plans.”

“Why not?” Cass asked with curiosity.

He hesitated to tell her “I’ll tell you when we are on safe grounds.” He pushed through the trap door as the four collided with the water through the softened ground.

Chapter 14

When they reached to safety ground, Andy suggested “We’re still not safe, let’s go to my place.” He led them to his secret hideout. When they reached the maze, Andy stopped “Something’s wrong. Be careful everyone.” He warned. Holding up his laser gun as he opened the door slowly. To his surprise the door was unlocked, he pushed at it and it gave way easily. He let out a sigh when he saw that his place had been ransacked. The place was a mess and they took everything that was important. “Damn!” he cursed.

Julie tapped him on the shoulder to calm him “I’m sorry.” She looked around and picked up some of the files that they didn’t want. “How did they cut through your code?” she looked up from the floor.

Will observed the door “They didn’t.” he pointed to the weakened hinges “Mercury.” He said simply.

Cass put her hands on her hips “So what are we going to do? Should we go to headquarters?”

Andy turned to her, his eyes hardened “If you want to die. Before we left earlier this night, headquarters was invaded by the FBI. Apparently, Sergeant Liu had found us.”

“How?” Julie asked with concern “We never even saw the Unit.” She turned to Will.

He looked apologetically at them “I did…I followed Andy one day. But how could he tell where I was? I wasn’t in any contact with Sergeant Liu after Julie told me.”

“Your watches.” He said to Will and Julie.

“Damn them!!” Will cried angrily as he pounded his fists against the wall. “How could we be so stupid?!”

Andy sighed as he shook his head “It’s not your fault. After a while of wearing that watch, he was able to detect your place on this homing program. He is able to see every movement. Even after you take off this watch, the program can still be used within 24 hours.” He knew it all too well.

“So what now?” Julie said in defeat. “The Unit has been destroyed and we have no one to support us. There’s no where to go.”

Cass was quiet the whole time, in which Andy knew that she was pondering something “You have any ideas?” he asked her.

“Do you know of the main headquarters? It’s located in the heart of China. Unfortunately, I’ve never been there.” She said thoughtfully.

Andy searched his mind, he might have been there once, but he forgot how to get inside “Its been too long. Plus the Unit is so secretive about everything, it could have moved for all we know.”

“Well, what do you expect us to do? Sit around and wait?” Cass asked with frustration.

He turned to Julie “You want to take a trip with me?”

She smiled in return “I could use that.” Julie turned to her sister and Will “You guys coming?”

To her surprise Cass shook her head “No. There’s something I have to do.”

Will looked at her strangely “What is it?”

“Save Leann.” She said shortly “We all know she’s innocent. Although her father won’t hurt her, who knows what he’ll do to torture her. He’s an unstoppable lunatic, he can do anything. I want to keep her away from this madman.”

Will nodded “I agree. Why don’t you two go while Cass and I stay here and we’ll figure out how to help Leann.”

Julie frowned “But…I don’t want us to be separated.”

Cass smiled at her baby sister as she reached out and touched her face “Silly girl, I’ll be okay. I promise. We’ll meet up in a month at the old place.” She winked to her sister secretly. “I’m sure the FBI won’t know where that is.”

Julie smiled as she looked at the confused faces of Andy and Will “They don’t even know.” The girls giggled like little girls. It was a secret hideaway that they used to contact each other when they were small, it was just a little tree house that was built years ago by a couple set it up for their son. It was located in one of the few rural areas left in Hong Kong. The place was remote and barely anyone knew about it because it was built in a forest like area, the trees hid the house from all trespassers.

“We’ll stay here tonight and leave early tomorrow morning.” Andy suggested. Julie looked concern and he only smiled at her “Don’t worry, they’ll never think that we came back here after it’s been invaded. The most dangerous place is always the safest place.”

“Okay, Mr. Smartie pants.” Julie crossed her arms as she turned to him “Why didn’t you tell me that my sister was a Spy?” she gave him no time to answer as she turned to her sister “And you, Missy. Don’t even trust your own sister to tell her the truth…tsk tsk tsk, I’m ashamed at you!” she was half joking but the other half was more sad that her very own blood couldn’t tell her this secret.

Cass shook her head with a smile “I couldn’t tell you. Because I knew you two were agents, FBI and the Spy Unit does not mix. I joined about three years ago. When you were in training with the FBI. I was actually working at a restaurant to pass time. One day after work, I ran into Andy. He seemed hurt so I took him in and helped him out. I soon found out his secret identity.”

“As a Spy, you cannot let anyone know who you are unless the person is a spy themselves or they have the ability to one day become a spy. I told her I had to kill her.” A small smile spread across his face as he remembered the situation.

Julie wrinkled her eyebrows with interest “You had to kill her?”

Will snickered “If he did, she wouldn’t be standing here would she?”

She turned her evil eyes at him “Don’t disturb our conversation.”

Cass laughed “I wonder how you two became partners.”

“Must be an evil plan of Sergeant Liu, he knew we despised each other so maybe he figured we would destroy each other.” She turned back to her sister from her glaring eyes at Will “So, what happened?”

Cass nodded “Right. Where was I? Okay, so I asked him what I had to do for him not to kill me. He said I had to join the Spy Unit.” She brought her arms out, her head tilting to one side “So here I am.”

“That easy?” Julie asked with disappointment “You guys didn’t battle it out and then you beat Andy so he said he would take you in?” her imagination was running away with her. Cass shook her head “What a jip. Hey, so all this time, you knew that we weren’t really married?”

“Wasn’t it obvious?” Will rolled his eyes.

Julie narrowed her eyes at her sister “You made me sleep in the same room with him for 6 months?!” she reached for her sister and shook her roughly “How could you do that to me??!! Every night, snoring…” she imitated Will’s snore but it was exaggerated.

Cass and Andy only laughed as they watched the two argue again “We’ll it’s better than your tossing and turning, making the bed squeak so much. The first night had no sound and then BAM! Squeak…squeak…” the argued into the night.

********************

The girls slept on the bed while the guys laid out on the cold floors. Andy awakened early as he carefully woke Julie up trying not to disturb the other two sleepy heads. The sun was barely rising when Julie opened her eyes “Time to go, Julie.” He whispered as he reached under her neck and knees. He picked her up with ease as he steadied her to the ground “You awake?” he asked again.

She stretched out her arms and smiled “Yeah.” She nodded. Julie glanced down at her sister as she reached down and kissed Cass on the forehead “Be careful, Ga Jei.” She whispered. She smiled at Cass’s angel like face before turning to Andy. “Let’s go.”

The two headed out to the streets, the light from the sun came over the gray color of the morning like a blanket. Andy and Julie walked hand in hand to the nearest metro sky link station. It was like a train but 10 times faster and it traveled to every city connected to China and Hong Kong. It was held up with strong steel bars so that it was higher than most buildings. They seated in a large group that poured into the sky train.

Andy held onto Julie’s hand tightly as he looked into her eyes, smiling each time she turned away shyly. “Stop staring.” She whispered.

He smiled and leaned in closer to her ear “I have to. Those guys across from us have been staring at us since we got on the train.” He pulled away while she giggled as if he said something funny. She was quick to catch on to his diversion.

Julie spoke through her smile “What are we going to do?” she tilted her head and played with her shoulder length hair. She casually turned around trying to spot the men but acted like she was looking for something or someone. She saw a guy who was well built and his head was shaved. While his partner was an older guy with a round tummy. He looked too big and definitely out of shape.

“Sit until we come to our stop. We’ll split when we get off.” He reached over and smoothed out the strand dangling across her forehead. “Be careful. You have your gun?”

She leaned her head against his chest as she nodded “Yes.”

It was hours until they finally reached their destination. The train stopped and Julie looked up, noticing their group had decreased except the two men were still staring at them through their dark lenses. Andy and Julie got and filed out like everyone. They walked briskly down the escalator leading to the city grounds. The minute they reached it, the two split up and ran in two directions.

The men that were following them looked at each other as the fat one followed Julie while the other followed Andy, which was a mistake since Andy was more experienced. Again he merged into the crowded crosswalk and maneuvered through people with ease. The guy’s head moved up and down as he tried to dodge the people and keep an eye on Andy at the same time. When he reached an area with little people, the guy spun in circles looking for him. He came to a secluded alley only to be attacked by Andy. They fought with swift movements but Andy was quicker. He used his legs as he spun it to the ground in a circular motion towards the follower’s feet. The guy fell back with a thump while Andy towered over him, his gun sprawled out. “Move and I’ll blast your guts open.” His eyes began to slowly smile “Now is that how they teach you to fight an attacker?” he put away his gun as he reached out his hand to the guy (Wong Hei - guest star) to assist him up.

David smiled at his friend as he let Andy help him up “I was holding back, unlike someone. Hong Kong made you rough, didn’t it?” he punched his arm playfully. He looked around “Where’s that girl you were with?”

Andy’s smile faded “Julie! Oh gosh, I hope your partner was easy off on her.” They guys rushed in the opposite direction as they came upon a residential area. They looked around and found a crowd surrounding something. They pushed through and Andy had to cover his mouth from bursting with laughter.

David groaned as he covered his eyes “I am officially embarrassed.”

There in the center was Julie sitting on the big round guy that had followed her. His arm twisted behind his back as he called out in pain each time she yanked it upwards. She instantly noticed Andy as her face brightened “Andy!”

He nodded with a huge grin on his face, he brought out his hand as she reached for it with ease. He pulled her up and shook his head “I guess I didn’t need to be worried.”

David quickly helped his partner up “Get her away from me! She’s crazy. I thought you said you knew him?” Gary (Bobby Au Yeung) practically hid behind David.

“You scared of a girl?” David asked. He looked around at the crowd “It was just a joke, there’s nothing to see.” The people cried out in disapproval but they all began to leave. He turned to Julie and brought out his hand “I’m David.”

Julie glanced at Andy who nodded and she returned the handshake “Julie.”

“Nice work you did there.” David nodded to his partner who was still rubbing on his bruised arm.

“Sorry about that. I didn’t know you guys knew each other.” Julie said to Gary.

He only nodded “Yeah well, next time, I’m just gonna stand on the side line and wait. No wonder I can’t get a girlfriend.” Gary groaned as his face twisted in pain.

David patted his friend on the shoulder “Don’t you remember, we’re not allowed to date.” He looked around carefully and then back at Andy “Maybe we should go somewhere and talk.”

Andy smiled with a nod “That’s a good idea.” He reached for Julie’s hand as they followed David and Gary. Julie giggled when Gary was walking next to her and when he turned and saw her face, he rushed to David’s other side. “She’s harmless.” Andy assured Gary.

He only snickered “Yeah, you weren’t the one eating dirt while a girl sat on your back.”

Hong Kong

Leann sat silently in her father’s office that she’s seen numerous times, but that day her outlook changed tremendously. Her father was speaking but her ears would not allow her to listen. Her thoughts floated away as she slowly became frustrated. Tears flowed slowly down her face as the pain of being lied to overcame her like a wave. Then came resentment towards her father. “You are my daughter, I would not do anything to hurt you. But you put my 10 years of hard work in danger…”

She came back to reality when his words sounded threatening “What would you do father?” she gulped back the tears “Kill your own daughter.” The man was silent as if contemplating the idea. “You won’t get away with this. Even if the government don’t take you in, God will.”

“Shut up! He’s your father!” Leo charged at his sister but he was stopped by Hung Fung. The elder man lifted his hand at his son. “Father!”

“She is still your sister, despite the fact that she has been living in her little perfect bubble.” He turned back to Leann “You will stay in this office until you learn to accept the truth. When you are ready to return to reality and continue your job, you are not to step foot out of here. I will have someone bring you clothes and food. This is the only office that has a bedroom and shower.” He pointed to a solid door in the corner.

The group left her alone while she swallowed in her own tears. She walked to the room and found a cozy decorated room. The walls were glass but only the bathroom was solid. She washed her face before climbing on the bed where she fell asleep within minutes from the overwhelming ordeal.

Leann was deep asleep when a sudden sound awakened her. Her eyes popped open and she found Cass hovering over her as she covered Leann’s mouth to keep her from yelling “It’s me, Cass…” she whispered.

Cass sat up “How did you get in here?” she saw Will climbing in from the opened window. “My father will kill you if he finds out!” she whispered urgently.

Cass smiled “This is the only office without a camera. I think he wants you to be saved.”

Leann looked at her strangely “What?” she was more confused than before.

“We’ll explain later, come on.” Will waved for her to come over. She rushed off the bed as he put a belt around her waist that carried a metal square object on one side. He pulled at a string which pulled out a metal coiled string to connect it to another metal squared object which was placed firmly outside the glass window. Cass too was putting hers on. “Hold tight.” He wrapped his arms around the girls as they jumped out the window dropping at 100 mph.

Leann closed her eyes as she gripped onto Will’s arm like she was going to fall to her death. Cass saw Will cringe in pain so she decided to help him. She slowly reached over and loosened Leann’s grip “Relax or Will’s circulation will be cut off.” She spoke soothingly.

Leann opened her eyes and slowly decreased her grip but the moment the string stopped right above the water, she gripped his arm tighter “OW!” Will cried out in pain.

“I’m sorry!” Leann quickly let go of his arm.

He shook his head “It’s okay.” He laughed nervously as he turned to Cass “I thought you said she was weak?” Cass giggled as she untied her belt and she fell straight into the water. Her head bobbed up the water in a few seconds as she waved for Leann to follow. Will helped her with her own belt and she too fell in with a splash. The girls waded their foot as they waited for Will. Together the three swam to shore. They took her to the secret hideout that Andy has been hiding for years.

Leann looked around at the odd looking place “Where is this place?”

Will and Cass exchanged glances, after a minute she decided to answer “I guess there’s no use in hiding it from you. This is a secret passageway that Andy has been using.”

“Why does it look like this…” she pointed to the messy place. Suddenly she looked up with widened eyes “My father?”

Will nodded “He’s a very sneaky man.”

Leann nodded “I had no idea. I’m so sorry.” She said sincerely.

Cass shook her head “Silly girl, you had nothing to do with it. But I do think he has a soft spot for you.”

She frowned at her comment “Because he didn’t kill me or the fact that he planned to lock me up like a prisoner if I didn’t accept his evil ways?” sarcasm dripping off of every word.

Cass smiled “That’s what he wanted the other people to see. But he knew that the office he put you in had no connections with the outside world. It was not being watched by anyone and you would be safe. He’s a smart man, he knew that if we wanted to get to you, that would be our only way. To break into a building might be hard for normal people but for spies or agents, you could say it’s an every day job description.”

“You mean he wanted you guys to come and rescue me?” Leann asked.

Will nodded “You can say that. Maybe he figured that you would be safer with us.”

She let out a sigh “What use does it make? The government will soon find out and he’ll probably sentenced to death for destruction and building machines to take over the world.”

“Would you rather have us go into battle with him and shoot him to death?” Cass asked wisely. Leann turned to her with wide eyes while Cass smiled in return “I didn’t think so.”

********************

Andy, Julie, Gary and David walked until they reached a rural city. Julie noticed that David was silently counting the trees that they passed. When they came upon a forest like environment, he stopped as he turned to them “We’re here.” He smiled as he nodded to Andy “Remember what to do?”

He smiled as he reached around Julie’s waist and gripped her tightly “Hold on tight.”

She tilted her head strangely “Why?”

Gary watched the two love birds as he turned to David and batted his eyes “Hold me, David.” He exaggerated Andy’s grip on Julie as he practically wrapped both arms around David.

Julie leered her eyes evilly at Gary “You need another beating?”

Gary’s face instantly turned solemn as he cleared his throat “Let’s go.”

David shook his head as he pressed a button on his watch and an opening under Julie and Andy’s foot swallowed them into the ground. They fell down a tube going faster than she’s ever imagined. Andy kept his eyes on her trying to calm her nerves. When they reached the ground, she stumbled from the sudden ground below her foot while he held onto her giving her balance again. “You okay?” he asked.

She nodded as she let go of his arm “So this is the Unit?”

“Not quite.” David answered and she turned to see the other two next to Andy. “Come on, The Head would like to see you two.” He waved for them to follow him. The cave like area soon disappeared when they walked through a door.

What Julie saw amazed her to the core, it looked like a white blank piece of paper. There was absolutely nothing in there, despite her imagination tried to concur up a secret agency. They walked on until they came upon 5 simple doors, all still white. “What’s with the doors?” Julie asked openly.

Andy smiled at Julie with adoration “To keep intruders from entering. Two are long mazes that leads to no where and two lead to the trapped chambers of glass. The fifth one is the correct door.” They walked upon the third door and it lead to a long hallway that was lighted with a light blue long bulb that was hung above them. “The trick is that each hour the doors are switched so it is seldom the same door.”

“That was a special feature designed by the Head to keep intruders from knowing which door to come in.” David finished.

Julie nodded “I see. Has any intruder ever got the correct door?”

Gary rolled his eyes “If they did, we would not still be using this system.”

“Hah! You are really asking for it.” She groaned.

He only laughed “You may be wonder woman up on land but this is our world. You won’t be able to lay a hand on-” before he even finished his sentence, she swung her lungs below him and he fell flat on his back with a thumb.

She stood up and placed her arms on her hips as she looked down at him “You were saying?”

David and Andy laughed loudly at the once again defeated Gary “Give up before you get hurt!” David gave his part a hand as he pulled him up with ease. “Damn, that looked painful.” His faced wrinkled in pain as he walked on mocking Gary while holding onto his back.

Gary ignored David “Where’s my bodyguard when I need one?” he mumbled.

“If you give me the job, I’ll take it.” Julie joked.

David nudged his partner “That’s a great idea, that way, she won’t hurt you anymore.”

“She’ll be paid not to hurt you.” Andy chimed in as the three exploded with laughter.

Gary quickened his pace “Ha ha, very funny.”

The four reached another three doors at the end of the hall. David turned to Julie “Can you guess which door is correct?”

She tapped her finger on chin as she began to analyze which door it could be “Two mazes and one correct door?”

David shook his head “Any door will work.” He laughed as he chose the second door and let the group in “A normal agent will analyze after making it through the first door. But what they don’t expect is that each door will take them through since it is not analytically normal to be that easy.”

Julie laughed as she shook her head “Sneaky! But I like it.” She looked around finding the whole place to be in the color white again. Everyone was dressed in a white suit while the furniture and computers were clear. “So this is The Unit.” She sighed.

Andy smiled “It’s different from the last time I was here.”

David nodded as he led the group through the office surroundings “Just a little.” He took them to a triangle shaped object. A triangle frame object hung from the machine. He placed his hand as it molded into the metal exterior. The door of the object opened and allowed the four to enter. It was an elevator leading to the third floor. They came upon another hallway which led to one office. Before they had a chance to announce themselves, the door opened and a middle aged man turned to them with a warm smile.

"Andy, it's been a long time." he turned to Julie with a wider grin "Who's this beautiful lady?" he reached out a hand "Rob Chiu." the man (Kong Wah) nodded.

"Julie Cheung." she smiled in return.

"You always have an eye for beauty." he said to Andy.

Gary snickered at the comment "More like blind..." he mumbled to himself.

Rob raised an eyebrow at one of his top spies "Do I hear anger from your voice?"

David laughed "More like embarrassement that a girl beat him up."

Gary threw an evil glance at his partner "She didn't BEAT me up. I held back because...well, seeing that...she's a girl..and all..." he stuttered away while the group laughed at his despair.

Rob smiled at Julie "It's about time someone put him in his place. He's been walking around with a growing ego." he winked at her playfully "Glad to have you join us. Cass speaks highly of you."

At the mention of her sister, Julie's smile faded "I wonder how Ga Jei is doing."

"She'll be joining you soon." Rob assured. He turned to Gary and David "You guys go pick them up."

David nodded while Gary groaned in disagreement "Again? I just came from Hong Kong!" he knew he had no choice though.
