A Special Poem

To the Families & Friends of the

Victims of September 11th, 2001

By

December 22nd, 2001

With Love and Compassion

Christmas is upon us and despite your loved ones fate.
They would want you to all go on and continue to celebrate.
The birth of our Lord Jesus on this first Christmas Day.
Since your precious loved ones from you were taken away.

Their footsteps have been silenced, their voices have been stilled.
But death cannot erase the place that in your hearts they filled.
Celebrate the joy of the day and be with those who care.
Open up your hearts and Christmas memories of the past share.

Words cannot express to you how I feel in my heart.
That all your precious loved ones from you had to part.
But you are all in my prayers, and your loved ones too.
I wish there was more that I could say, more that I could do.

Keep your faith strong and believe deeply as you pray.
That your departed loved ones are there in spirit with you today.
Smiling down upon you, embracing you with their memory.
Knowing you wish they could be there with you, if it could only be.

Though you feel alone and heartache sadly shadows you.
I hope these words bring comfort as they're meant to do.
Your loved ones weren't just a great loss to all of you.
Because as Americans, we feel we lost part of our family too.

May God bless you all richly in the coming New Year.
You are never alone because for you all, Americans care.
With open arms and love that no one can ever take away.
You are in our thoughts and prayers forever and a day.

"I deeply regret that I cannot represent all religions
with this poem. To do so would be an enormous task. My thoughts and prayers are with all families
and friends of those who lost loved ones on September 11th, 2001
at The World Trade Centers, The Pentagon and
aboard Flight 93 in Pennsylvania,
regardless of anyone's religious beliefs.
I am deeply saddened at the tremendous loss of life
and the callous act of the cowards who perpetrated the murders of innocent people.
God willing they will be brought to justice."
Sincerely: Marlene (Pixie)
