When we are born the positions of all the planets as marked on the Tropical Zodiac becomes our Astrological chart. That chart stays with us till the day we pass from this existence. But the planets continue on their path after we are born. This motion of the planets continuing their journey across the sky is called "Transits" or transiting motion. I have heard of transits referred to as real time motion also.

After twenty-six years in Astrology I still have no idea how Astrological Transits work. But work they do. Surely as the wind blows a person with a transiting Jupiter over their natal Mars will have an extreme amount of energy and will have the toughest time controlling it. Someone with Uranus transiting their natal Sun will experience an identity crisis that will force them to redefine who they are.

How can this be you ask? Well, don't ask me, I'm only the Astrologer.

Carl Jung did some studies into the lunar cycle and came to proclaim that there was a synchronicity between the movement of the Moon and our emotional state of affairs.

Any hospital in the World knows to put more staff on during a Full Moon. There are simply going to be more emotional and physical upsets than at any other time of the month. So in a sense that personnel manager is practicing Astrology without a license. Astrology is the practice of applying logic to the orderly movement of the planets.

Every Police Dept. in the World knows to have more officers on duty during a Full Moon also. Experience breeds believers. And believe me, I've seen Astrology work time after time. Even when I wasn't paying attention, Astrology never sleeps.

A Study of Cycles

Not only is Astrology useful for knowing when something is going to happen. A client will often want to know when something is going to end. Nothing last forever. Everything has an end. Everything is a cycle inside another cycle. All cycles are leading to the same conclusion.

From time to time the inevitable will happen. I will have something happen in my life and I have to go to the charts to see what is going on. Yes, even an Astrologer can let a planetary movement sneak up on him. The planets never sleep. So that does happen and when it does it is so fantastic to be able to look back in the charts and find that a certain planet was making a certain aspect to one of your natal planets. Then when you compare the Astrological symbology against what is going on in your life the answer is almost always clear. And when it is clear it is like being able to see the "Hand of God" move on the face of the Earth. Because that is the way I have to look at it. After you've seen it enough you beging to get the message. Astrology works. It is the Astrologer that has to learn.

I implied above that it is not always clear. That is unfortunately true. When a client wants to talk about their employment. All of a sudden so many other charts come into play. What is the motivation of all these other people? Or say the client is talking about their friend, lover, spouse, or associate, once again other charts come into play. Sometimes the motivator for what is going on is not in your chart. It is the clock going off in someone else's chart that is affecting the matter at hand. The client is just caught up in it.

I do hope that you have by now taken a moment to consider the ramifications if Astrology does work. What are the implications if Astrological Transits do work? Is there divine destiny? To what degree do we really have free will? Now there is some inspiration for a future article.

Astrology is perfect. The charts are spinning, the heavens are rolling off the days of our lives as perfectly as you can possibly imagine. I know. I have seen it for myself. Not only does it work, it works in the most perfect ways. Not always exactly as we would hope or expect all the time but I am sure that the heavens are unfolding in our lives as perfectly as can be.
