Carryover Keys $661,283 Payoff at Santa Anita

A succession of long shot winners Sunday produced a gigantic pick six payoff of $661,283.20 at Santa Anita Park.
The winning tickets were sold in New York, Ohio and Los Alamitos in Cypress, Calif. The Pick Six payout was fourth highest in track history.
Sunday's Pick Six gross pool was $2,972,410. There was a record one-day carryover of $732,097 from Saturday, and an additional $2,240,313 was wagered into the pool Sunday.
The fireworks began in the first leg as Cherokee's Disco and Tyler Baze rallied for a $35.80 triumph in race four. Things settled a bit in the next two legs as Nancys Magic Brush and Pat Valenzuela took the fifth at $7.40, followed by a romping victory by Bullistic under Mike Smith at $6.60 in the sixth race.
Things got tough again in the seventh race, the $150,000 Arcadia Handicap, when Century City – the longest price on the board – won a blanket finish and paid $41.80.
The eighth race went to Swordfish and Kent Desormeaux at $19.40. Golden Rahy under David Flores won the ninth race at $13.
There were 104 tickets with five winners worth $5,158.20 apiece.
