No Set Date For Book 5! Good news and Bad News: First the good news... Author Rowling says she is "on track" with the fifth volume of Harry Potter. Now the bad news... She said the fifth volume was never scheduled to come out in 2001 and in fact no date has been set. Last year, Rowling wrote two companion volumes, "Quidditch Through the Ages" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." She donated her profits from the two recent volumes to charity. Those projects and the movie slowed down progress with book 5. I doubt that there is much pressure on her to hurry as the profits between the movie and books will be bigger, extended.
