I'm gone right now on a band trip to San Fran. I may be able to put up some news at an internet café, but probably not. Also, I am getting swamped with homework. No matter what, I will keep the updates going on the site, but I could use some help. If you are intereseted in submitting articles, please email me [ here ]

[ Yahoo News ] reports:
LONDON (AP) - J.K. Rowling (news - web sites) has used some of the fortune from her phenomenally successful Harry Potter (news - web sites) books to buy a secluded Scottish mansion.
Rowling has bought Killiechassie House, built by a Scottish general in 1865 on the picturesque banks of the River Tay near Aberfeldy in Perthshire, central Scotland, according to William Jackson of realtors CKD Finlayson Hughes in Perth.
``Killiechassie House is a most attractive family home,'' Jackson said Wednesday. ``This area of Perthshire is most highly sought after with the most attractive countryside all around.''
Rowling, who wrote her first book in coffee shops while struggling alone to bring up her daughter, now owns a mansion complete with two halls, a drawing room, morning room, dining room and library.
In the grounds is a sycamore tree said to have sheltered Prince Charles Edward Stuart, known as Bonnie Prince Charlie, during the Jacobite Rising of 1745, a failed bid to restore a Scottish Catholic to the British throne.

JK Rowling is on course to become the world's first billionaire writer.
Warner Bros estimate the Harry Potter phenomena is now worth more than Batman's £710 million franchise.
The author is now earning more royalties through merchandise than book sales.
Philip Beresford, who compiles the Sunday Times rich list, said: "If this carries on over the seven books she is writing and all the films, she could be on course to be the world's first billionaire author.
"She is the biggest brand name in literature since Shakespeare."
Rowling has now sold 124 million books worldwide.
Harry Potter toys are expected to dominate the Christmas sales charts this year.

A German child prodigy is composing a Harry Potter symphony to accompany the books, chapter by chapter.
Leon Buche, from Berlin, has already finished the music for the first 12 chapters.
And the 12-year-old hopes to have finished the symphony by the end of the year.
"Each chapter has a theme to the music and every character has their own melody," said Leon who attends the Stern Institute for musically-gifted children in the German capital.

James Potter a Gryffindor Seeker?
I had always thought that he was a chaser. Perhaps it was changed, for the movie.... however we do know that James was a Gryffindor, in either 1970 or 1972. Also, M.G. McGonnagall is recognizable at right. Was Minerva McGonnagall a member of the quidditch team? The movie certainly depicted her as an older woman, way too old to be Harry's parent's age. Please [ email me ] if you have any information or ideas on these subjects.

[ PBS ] did a documentary last night about the [ origins ] of Harry Potter, with facts like the Grey Lady may be based on an actual ghost of [ Chillingham Castle ], which is known as Britain's Most Haunted Castle. It also talked about the mythical and Arthurian references Rowling uses. That is actually what I wrote my research project on, Freshman Year. You can read it at the [ J.K. Rowling ] page.

The alert comes as an MP launched his bid to stem the multi-billion pound trade in counterfeit goods.
Liberal Democrat Vince Cable showed reporters a grainy Harry Potter video, shot from the back of a cinema.
The appalling quality made it virtually unwatchable.
Trade and industry spokesman Dr Cable will seek a Commons Second Reading for his Bill increasing the maximum jail sentence for dealers in fakes from two to ten years, and giving police and trading standards authorities wider powers of seizure and confiscation.
Trade group the Alliance Against Counterfeiting and Piracy predict millions of pounds-worth of fake Harry Potter merchandise and videos will flood High Streets and car boot sales in the run up to Christmas.
Dr Cable said his Bill had Government and cross-party support. "There is a very good chance of this particular piece of legislation getting through," he said.
But it could yet founder if backbench MPs seek to delay it, using tactics often needed to block other Bills following it.
Dr Cable and Alliance chairman Lavinia Carey warned fake goods were often dangerous, as well as shoddily made.
The trade is estimated to cost industry £9 billion a year and the Treasury about £1.5 billion in lost revenue.

Happy Turkey Day everyone! This is the new HPL design! pretty cool, huh? I hope thehpn.com doesn't think I am copying them. It does look pretty similar, so... Well, I hope you like it. If you don't like it, you can always email me at [ brentlomas@starmail.com ] The old page is located [ here ] for reference. Oh, and by the way, this is the only page under the new design. So, the other ones will all be ugly like before. Yeah, and not all of the pages work... but that's okay! It still looks cool.
