Nick Carter watched as the love of his life for 2 years put the last of her luggage in the trunk of her jet black rental car. Guilty tears streamed down his face as he watched her. His stupidity caused her to leave him.
"Jess, please don't leave me. I need you. I love you," Nick pleaded. Jessica's pretty face looked down to hide the tears that were escaping her pale blue eyes.
"I'm sorry Nick. I can't," she replied softly, barely above a whisper.
Nick couldn't believe this was the end. After 2 years of love, he threw it all away for a night that meant absolutely nothing to him. Nothing. He couldn't blame Jessica though. It wasn't her fault, it was completely his. He couldn't blame whoever told her either because he was the one who did it in the first place.
"Nick?"
"Yeah Jess?" Maybe she changed her mind. Maybe she would come back to him afterall...
She walked over to him and pressed her soft, pouty lips to his,"I'll never forget you. You were my first love. My first for a lot of things actually, but this is goodbye. My mind keeps trying to think of what happened between you and that girl and I don't want to keep thinking about it. It hurts a lot and I just want the pain to stop. Please try and understand."
Nick closed his eyes, glassy with fresh tears, for a moment,"I'll love you for as long as I live. We've been through a lot together,Jess.I'll never get over you."
She smiled a small smile,"Oh yes you will Nick Carter, you will get over me. I promise."
"No I won't. Never," he vowed
"Well, I better be going. I'm sorry it had to end this way-"
"You have nothing to be sorry for, Jess. It's all my fault. I'M sorry."
"Ok," Jessica pressed her lips to his again, "Bye Nicky." She walked over to her car and opened the door. She snuck another glance at his tear-stained face. As she got in, she waved at him then shut the door.
That was the moment it finally sunk in that he'd lost his love. His other half. His soulmate. How could he be so stupid? How could he let something like this happen? All because the liquor took over his brain and he was thinking with his bottom half, not with his brain. "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" he yelled into the air. He sat down on the curb outside of the exclusive, posh hotel. Not caring who saw him, he let the tears spill from his blue eyes. They fogged his vision and clouded his mind but he didn't care. All that mattered to him was gone forever. Forever.
Brian Littrell was passing through the hotel lobby, whistling softly to himself as his bodyguards trailed closely behind him. This was a good day. Leighanne was finally with him again after the long time she was gone with filming her movie. Brian glanced outside and immediately did a double take when he saw his best friend sitting on the curb, crying his eyes out. He didn't know exactly what happened with Jessica, but he knew it had something to do with the previous night. He had heard some commotion, but it was too late to go out and investigate the whole thing so he just let it be. AJ had filled him in in the morning over breakfast that something happened between them but didn't really want to get into details about it, so Brian let it go and figured he'd get the full information from Nick. Brian signaled for his bodyguards to follow him outside. He opened up the large glass door and made his way out.
"Nick, buddy, what happened?" he questioned, sitting down next to his friend.
"She's gone, Brian. Jessica's gone."
"Come on Nick, let's go inside, bud, ok?" Brian said after seeing a few bellboys throw them questioning looks. That's all they needed was to see the story plastered on every newspaper imaginable. Whatever happened was probably something that they definately did NOT want to spill out.
Nick reluctantly rose from his seat on the curb and followed Brian back into the hotel, still crying uncontrollably.
"Do you wanna go talk about it somewhere? Leighanne went shopping with Kristin so it'll just be you and me. It's not like you'll be telling her too ya know?" Brian offered as they hit the botton to the elevator.
"Thanks, Bri, but right now I just want to be alone. I don't want to relive the experience yet. Maybe later, "Nick replied stepping into the elevator along side of Brian.
"Sure yeah I understand how you feel. When you're ready to talk, you know I'm always here for you right?"
"Yeah I know, thanks,"
Brian could tell Nick was not in a chatty mood so thats all he said to him until they got to their floor. Both filed out of the elevator.
"Bye Nick, get some rest will ya?"
"I doubt I can, but I'll try. I'll talk to you later."
"Yeah see ya. I'm sorry about Jessica, I really am."
"Yeah I am too." And with that they parted their seperate ways. Brian understood Nick was extremely upset, but he never realized a girl would stop them from talking to one another. He let the subject go and opened the door to his room.
Nick closed the door and flopped down on his bed. Things were so perfect between them. They had this great relationship that you read about in books. Until he had met Jessica, he never, ever thought he'd have the pleasure of experience a love like that. True love. And as Nick was famous for doing a lot of the times when things were going right, he had blown it. The memories of him and Jess came flooding back to him. Their first kiss...the first time they said I love you...the first time they made love...the promise rings...everything was just coming back. He didn't want to forget anything about her. His beautiful Jessica, with her thin, curvy size 5 figure, long, soft brown hair, her bright blue eyes that seemed to shine, all her delicate features. Everything about her was perfect, not even just her looks, she was the type of person that would win the 'Best Personality' award in high school unanimously. Nick smiled at the thought of her sweet disposition.
"I need her. I can't live without her," he whispered to himself, while turning over on his bed in his hotel room. The tears starting up once again. He thought of all the great, and not so great, things that happened between him and Jessica...
