In imagery, what is "The Droste Effect"?
It is the name for packaging, or other art, that features the package itself in the artwork, in diminishing size. In theory, the image would reproduce infinitely, were it not for the loss of resolution due to the printing process. The phenomenon is named after a 1904 package of Droste brand cocoa.
