He starred in movies in France and Hollywood; he loved aviation and had the first controlled powered flight over Australia with a an also-successful landing; he then moved on to debunking psychics and mediums. This pursuit led to the end of his friendship with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was a firm believer in such things. However, Weiss was best known under a different name and for a different set of skills and he died, in 1926, because of one of these 'stunts'. Who was he?
