Trivia for 1/14
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Answer for 1/13:
Name the island ruled by King Leonidas in Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
(A) Naboombu
(B) Timbuktootu
(C) Kajagoogoo
Ans: (A) Naboombu. This differs from the books by Mary Norton that the story was based on. In those works, the island was called Ueepe, and the inhabitants were cannibals, not animals.
46 players answered correctly.
Question for 1/14:
Born in 1914, I  am still considered by many to be the greatest all-around baseball player, ever. A three-time MVP, my 56-game hitting streak made baseball history in 1941. Though I failed to hit a single in the 57th game, I achieved hits in the next 15, making it 72 out of 73. The only player in baseball history to be selected for the All-Star Game in every season I played (13), I led the league in home runs in 1937 and 1948, and many believe that only the design of my home field (Yankee Stadium) prevented many more of my hits from being home runs. In 1969, a poll of sportswriters named me the "Greatest Living Baseball Player." Oh yeah, my second wife was kind of famous, too.
Who am I?
