In old TV ads, Wilkins was the one who loved the product being pitched, and he often reacted violently when grumpy Wontkins didn't like it. What product were the two advertising?
 
Wilkins Coffee. From 1957 to 1961, Jim Henson worked for the company to produce the commercials with the Muppet characters "Wilkins and Wontkins". In all he made 179 short ads, most being 10 seconds long. Local companies also "borrowed" the ads for their own brands, such as Community Coffee (Louisiana), Donovan Coffee (Alabama), La Touraine Coffee (Boston), Martinson Coffee (New York City) and Nash's Coffee (Minnesota).
