Alec was concentrating hard on his work. Piles of files were stacked on his desk in his cubicul. He looked at it and sighed, thinking, 'Great, another OT(over time)' Then behind him someone knocked on the wall.
"Hey Alec, let's go to the pub! I'm exhausted!" said Jimmy cheerily.
"Hey, I can't. So much work to be done!" Alec answered back, not stopping.
"But Alec, you just started this job a week ago! And this is only your first actual job. Relax!"
Alec gave a sour face. "Exactly, I need to give a good impression."
Jimmy looked determined. "No, you're leaving here. It's driving you crazy. I'll pull you to there if I must!"
Alec sighed and looked at his watch. 8PM. "Well, I guess I do need to stop."
Jimmy laughed, "That's the attitude!" He threw his jacket to him, "So let's go. There might be even some hot gals there!"
Alec smirked.

Alec slowly followed Jimmy down the stairs, into the pub and disco. Loud booming music could be heard even before you enter the door. Alec was a little taken back.
"What's wrong?" asked Jimmy, seeing Alec was hesitant to enter.
"I...I've never been here." he answered.
Jimmy's eyes largened in surprise. "Man, your 25 and you have never been in these sort of places? You are missing out!" He pulled Alec inside.
Alec's eyes squinted to ajust to the dark and flashing lights. Many people were dancing on the floor. Dancing real close. Alec's face turned red. Walking by, many girls brushed by him, giving him a flirtous smile and wink. Alec ducked his head.
Jimmy nudged him,"Relax. They don't bite! Oh look at that girl behind the bar!"
Alec looked over at the girl who was shaking up a drink. She was laughing and her large eyes twinkled. She leaned forward to the customer and whispered something into his ears. They both laughed. Her clear and singing laughter was amazing to Alec. He had never seen such a livly and pretty person in his whole life.
Jimmy nudged him again and said, "Go over there and ask for her number!"
Alec blushed at the thought of him doing so. But Jimmy pushed him toward the bar.
The girl's shoulder length hair was long and shiny, capturing the lights of the room. Alec stared at her natural yet beautiful features. Somehow he got the courage to ask, "Can I have a B52?"
She turned towards Alec and smiled, "'Course!" While she was making it she chat with him, "First time here?"
Alec was surprised and said, "Yes, how did you know?"
She gave him a warm smile and replied, "I work here everyday, it's the first time I've seen you around. Plus, you look nervous. What's your name?"
Alec blushed and took the drink. "Alec."
"I'm Vicki." She turned to another customer. Alec stayed back, watching her. When she was done with that order, she saw Alec was still there. "What do you want?"
"I was just wondering..." he started, "Just wondering if you..." Then he choked on his drink.
She gave him a pat and said, "You okay?"
He nodded, and blushing even more.
She laughed at him and said, "Wait for me after I get off work."
"When?" he asked eagerly.
She looked at him and silently laughed at his eagerness. "I get off work at 12 midnight."

Alec waited around the pub. Two hours before Jimmy told Alec he was leaving. He refused. Jimmy gave him a wink and left.
Now it was 11:45. Alec stood by the entrance outside of the pub as he could not stand the loud music anymore. His beeper beeped for the 5th time. His friend, Ruby, asking for where he is as he promised to go to her house tonight to help her fix the computer. He said to himself, "She can wait." He looked at the door again. Focusing all his energy to magically open the door. The door did open. And it was her. He ran to her. "Hi."
She stared at him, "Huh? Who are you?"
Alec looked down. "I'm Alec."
She slapped her knee. "Oh right, you! You actually waited?"
He nodded at his stupidness.
She looked at her watch, "Okay, you probably are hungry. Let's go for a midnight snack."
She took him to a food stand 2 blocks away. "It's the best here."
"It's still open?" Alec asked.
"Of course! This is the best business time." she answered, chewing on her food.
Alec smiled to himself at her kiddy actions.
It was already 1:30AM when they were done. Alec tried to keep his yawns to himself. Vicki saw it and said, "You should go home now."
Alec shook his head, "Oh no no.."
Vicki got up and took his arm. Alec stared at it. She pulled him to the curb on the street and hailed a taxi for him.
Alec got on and took a deep breath and asked, "How can I contact you?"
She searched her pockets and found a pen. She held his hand and wrote down her phone number. "You can always find me at that pub." She closed the taxi door, and said, "Bye!"
Alec could hardly answer back, the taxi had driven away.

By the time Alec got home, it was 2 in the morning. But he couldn't sleep. She took over his mind. He smiled to himself.
