'Oh my gosh, look at all this gold' Vicki yelled as she dived into a pool full of gold. 'Wow, I've nver seen this much gold before in my life!'. Vicki got out of the pool of gold and climbed up the diving board and dived in. Suddenly everything disappeared and instead on falling in the pool she fell into a deep deep hole 'ahhhhh...' Vicki screamed her voice getting fainter and fainter...RING RING RING the alarm clock sung a melody waking Vicki up from her nightmare well partially nightmare. Vicki sat up in bed and stretched. She gave a big yawn and boringly stepped out of bed.
'Another horrible day at school!' Vicki mummbled to herself while getting out her clothes for school. She went to brush her teeth then she got dressed.
Vicki turned on the TV and took a piece of plain bread then started eating it while watching TV.
She looked at her watch 'Omigosh, I'm late!' Vicki said as she brightened up and rushed around the house getting ready. She had to pick up Ruby who was waiting for her at the tram stop for her. She hung her bag on her shoulder and headed out the door. 'Bye' she managed to say before she left the house.
She ran down the street in a hurry. A girl was sitting on the tram stop seats. 'Hey, Ruby!' Vicki yelled to attract her attention 'Vicki, late again!' Ruby teased.
Soon the girls boarded the tram and sat in a empty fourseater.
They chatted about their homework, about everything. Vicki and Ruby act as if they were close sisters maybe even closer to real sisters.
Suddenly someone caught Vicki's attention. A bunch of guys had walked onto the tram with their mates. 'Alec and Jimmy and their group of friends' Ruby and Vicki said as they rolled their eyes.
'They think that they are so good don't they?' Vicki said telling how girl would ask them out everyday especially Alec and Jimmy.
'Vicki,like we get a chance We're the nobodies of the school' Ruby giggled. 'Yea, fun being nobodies!' Vicki also laughed along with her.
The tram stopped and all the students got off. There was only 5 minutes until school started. Vicki and Ruby started walking up to the door of the school when Ruby just said 'I'm so glad I did my report, geeez if anyone didn't hand it in they would get an F' Ruby said holding her precious report in front of her gasping at it.
'Report? The Human Body Report? Uh Oh!' Vicki said as she started to panick 'I forgot all about it'
'You never do your homework that's okay but this report is really important!' Ruby said panicking with her.
'What do I do? theres only four minutes left until the bell rings' vicki yelled as she shook her head from side to side. 'Maybe start it now and do what you usually do, just say you caught the late tram!' Ruby said starting to feel relieved.
'Okay, you go into class and distract Miss when I go in!' Vicki said feeling happy to have such a good friend like Ruby.
'Good luck!' Ruby said just before running off to class.
Vicki got all her things and walked behind the shed to write up her last minute essay. Within fifteen minutes Vicki had finished her essay. It didn't look like an essay because there was writing everywhere but Vicki didn't care. 'As Long as it's done, I'll probably get C+ or something' Vicki muttered to herself before running towards the classroom door.
Vicki opened the door alittle so a slight crack could be seen. Ruby saw Vicki so she put her master plan to work. 'Miss, there's this question I don't get!' Ruby asked eyeing vicki to walk in. Vicki crept in and was just about to put her essay in the other pile of essays when Nadine the most in girl picked the chance to say on purpose 'Miss I think Vicki needs some assistance with her essay'.
The teacher turned around to see vicki frozen in her position( nearly putting her essay in the pile). 'Miss Zhao do you want to hand in a essay that is late again' the teacher said lifting her right eyebrow. 'That Nadine always does this to me!' Vicki thought to herself then turned to face the teacher 'Yes, I missed the tram!'. The teacher took her essay and looked at it 'what is this?'. Vicki replied simply 'the Human Body Essay'.
The teacher hesitantly put her somewhat called 'essay'on the pile of essays. Vicki walked up to the back seat, to where Ruby was sitting and slumped into her chair and sighed. 'Relief!' Ruby said as well as Vicki!
Vicki and Ruby went to their lockers and unpacked all their stuff and got all their things for their next class.
'How I'd love to have a boyfriend!' Ruby exclaimed as she looked at Nadine's 'new' boyfriend hugging her and giving her flowers.
'I know we're in year twelve already and theres only another week till prom night' Vicki also added. 'What a pity, I guess we'll have to go alone without a partner to the prom' Ruby said but cheered up and said 'men who needs em'. They both giggled as they went out.

(Meanwhile outside)
'God! Will these girls just stop with the 'asking out' thing and the gift giving' Alec said as almost the tenth girl came up and asked Alec to the prom night with them, and again he refused.
'Are we not normal or something? Huh? They seemed to be magnetically attracted to us or something!' Jimmy exclaimed. 'Aren't you guys lucky, that girls are practically swarming over you' Vincent said giving them a sly look.
'Then take my place!' Alec said then looking at Jimmy, 'Yea! and take my place too'. 'Alec?' a girl's voice called over to them.
'Hey! Alec wanna go prom night as my partner, so many guys have asked me but I'm asking you?' Nadine said flicking her hair into Alec's face. ' Um..got a partner already..ask Jimmy?' Alec could think of anything to say. Nadine turned her perfect figure to face Jimmy 'I've got one too..' Jimmy said following the same example of Alec.
'Hey! I'll go with you, Honey!' Vincent said walking next to her. 'No Way, Vincent not if I would have to choose between you or a rubbish bin, and don't call me honey!' Nadine said as she glared at Alec and Jimmy then walked away.
Alec and Jimmy both gave each other a 'five'!
The bell rang indicating the end of lunch, everyone moaned and walked back to class.

(End of Day)
'Hey Ruby, catching the tram home?' Vicki said while packing her bag on her desk. 'Dah! I'm gonna catch the tram, I'm really gonna walk 10000km just to go home' Ruby said sarcastically.
Vicki giggled and Waited for Ruby at the door.
They both walked down to the tram stop and waited for the tram. 'Are you going to the prom night, well I mean we don't have a partner' Vicki said.
'I'm not sure yet!, between good friends I want to tell you a secret!' Ruby said looking around the empty tram to see if anyone was listening. 'A secret!' Vicki said simply dying to listen to it.
'promise not to tell!' Ruby said. 'This must be a big secret' Vicki thought to herself.
'Okay, well....' Ruby started then she stopped and went all red. 'What?' vicki asked looking at her couriously. Vicki turned around and tilted her head 'what?'.
'It's him' Ruby said tilting her head shyly. 'Who?' Vicki asked getting impatiant. 'Him' Ruby again whispered lowering her head as she blushed.
'Which one?' Vicki said as her voice increased but not as loud so everyone could hear. 'You know which one! Stop making me embarased' ruby told vicki as Ruby went redder in the cheeks.
'Vincent, Alec, Jimmy or another guy?' Vicki said giving another look at Alec Jimmy and their group taking thier seats at the back of the tram.
Ruby's face paled 'Vincent? Peelleeasse Vicki' Ruby teased vicki. 'So who is it? Alec or Jimmy?'.
Ruby bent across to whisper in Vicki's ear 'I have a crush on Alec!'.
'What!' Vicki yelled capturing everyones attention. Ruby looked around embarassed. 'I mean WHAT! is .....it for homework' Vicki delibratly lied aloud so everyone could hear.
'OOOooooo....We have two lovers on this tram' Vicki teased Ruby then Vicki got a good idea and giggled. 'Don't even think about it, Vicks' Ruby said rolling her eyes at her.
'how do you know what I am thinking?' Vicki asked. 'I can tel that you want to match make, by your little giggle' Ruby said as she mimicked Vicki's giggle but exagurrated on it.
'I don't sound like that!' Vicki complained. 'Yes you do!' Ruby argued teasingly back to her. 'No I don't, the way you giggles was like a cow with a stomach ache' Vicki teased.
Ruby Got off her stop and waved goodbye to Vicki.
Vicki got a good idea again 'Lets match make them both'.
Then Vicki quickly gave a look at Alec who was sitting at the back.
****Alec turned around and smiled****
The atmosphere around Alec went misty. His brown eyes and handsome smile
stood out and could kill all girls.
'He is so handsome, he is so HOTT, he is dreamy, no wonder Ruby falls for
him...'

Alec laughs at his friends Joke
'So dreamy...' Vicki thought.
Then Vicki snapped out of it. 'Ewww...what was I saying, that Alec is good? Nah' Vicki said as she smiled.
Vicki got off her stop and reached home...

The door bell rang. Vicki ran up and opened it. 'Ruby, come in there's 10 minutes till the next tram arrives so just wait here' Vicki said.
Ruby nodded and came in.
Soon the girls set out and got on the tram. They arrived to school just on time which was very unusual for Vicki.
'Vicki oooo... I can't wait to get on the tram after school to see him' Ruby said continuously dancing around in circles.
Vicki just groaned and tagged along with Ruby.
'Why is there so much people in here?' Ruby asked Vicki hoping that Vicki would know the answer.
'Well, it's surely not because of the food...hey look over there' Vicki cried pointing over near the crowded exit door.
'How could I forget! Everyone must sign up with who they are going with to the prom' Ruby thought as she lightly hit her forehead.
'Do you have to? I mean..we don't have a partner?' Vicki asked.
'We might as well because everyone has to' Ruby replied wishing that Alec was
there to sign with her.
'Oh I just wish that...' Ruby started then Vicki continued boringly 'alec was here with you rite?'. Ruby smiled.
Ruby and Vicki both walked up to the end of the line and waited. Then Alec and Jimmy who stood behind them also waiting to sign the paper.
'I wonder if Alec and Jimmy (the two hottest guys in the school) have someone to go with?' Vicki wondered couriously.
'Hey, Ruby why don't you turn around and ask him if he will go with you?' Vicki said on purpose. Ruby nudged Vicki in the ribs and stared at her.
'What he's just right behind us?' Vicki whispered. Ruby went silent and blushed. 'Well, I don't want to leave you all alone at the prom do I?' Ruby answered trying to change the subject.
Ruby and Vicki were the next to sign the papers. 'Oh! how sad Vicki and Ruby don't have a partner to go with!' Nadine said loudly on purpose.
'Dont' worry Vicki just sign the papers and let's go' Ruby said. 'Oh... don't worry again just sit with the other partnerless people..I'm sure you'll be happy' Nadine said as she battered her eyes.
'Just put a sock in it..Nadine SIR' Vicki said as she pulled ruby away laughing at Nadine's angry face.
Everyone in the line, giggled at Nadine! At how she lost to vicki and Ruby!
Ruby stopped Vicki from walking any further 'wait I just want to hear who Alec and Jimmy are going with' Ruby whispered.
'Alec, Jimmy I can't believe that you are going without partners' nadine said moving out of her seat. Alec and Jimmy both looked at each other in horror.
'We just got away from Nadine and now she's back' Jimmy murmered under his breath. Alec heard and nodded in agreement.
Nadine was about to come closer to Jimmy when Alec pushed Vincent forward. "Vincents free too, you know' Alec said evily.
With the spare time Alec and Jimmy made a run for it so the other girls won't swarm around them asking them to be their partners.
Vicki whispered into ruby's ears 'See you have a chance now...he's free'. Ruby tickled Vicki so she wouldn't say anymore.
The day ended fast and carefree...
vicki and Ruby both walked out of the school gates. Ruby couldn't catch the tram today because her dad was picking her up.
'See ya tomorrow!' Vicki yelled as she waved goodbye. Upon seeing ruby return the wave, Vicki set off for the tram.
Sitting on the tram without Ruby to speak to, felt awkward. She had never caught the tram without Ruby for some time. 'Why is it so crowded today at school as well on the tram"?' Vicki asked herself as she sat down lucky enough to find a seat.
She put her bag down as it was too heavy to carry on her lap. Someone(who was standing in front of her with his back facing her) had knocked down her bag.
'Thank Gosh! It was not broken' vicki said clutching the glass figure to her heart as she sighed.
'Um..sorry I didn't mean it' a male voice asked her. Vicki opened her eyes and looked at him. 'Alec?' she thought to herself unable to stop looking at him.
'It's okay' Vicki said noticing his stare. 'Good..what's your name?' Alec said softly as he was mesmerized by her beauty and the pair of irrisistable big eyes that were looking at him.
'My name is Vicki Zhao..I know your name is Alec Su right?' Vicki said casually then gave him a big smile.
Alec stared at her without talking. Vicki got her mirror out and stared in it 'do I have something on my face?' Vicki asked.
'uh..no' Alec said tearing his eyes off her beautiful face as Jimmy called him. 'Alec, a bunch of us guys are goin' bowling, we're getting off at this stop' Jimmy yelled fromt he other side of the tram.
'Nice to meet you' Alec said wishing that he could meet her everyday. Alec walked over to Jimmy and they all got off.
vicki could feel her heart beating faster and faster by the second. Her cheeks were pink and hot..she was blushing!. A wierd feeling filled her, it was like..it was like she liked him.
Vicki rushed home as quick as she could. She opened the shower and quickly opened the cold water. Vicki let the cold water splash on her face. 'I can't like Alec..what would Ruby do?' Vicki thought 'I can't lose Ruby as a friend and well..I don't want to not like Alec' Vicki thought as she was stuck between two worlds.
'What do I do?' vicki thought as she covered her face with her pillow

(Bowling Center)
'Alec, what's the matter? Jimmy asked as he gave Alec a slap on the back.
'Nothing the matter, why do you ask?' Alec said trying to act as if nothing were the matter.
'Dah..You have gotten a strike all day! Usually you get strikes alot' Jimmy said.
'Alright, if I tell you, you better swear that you won't tell a soul if you do I'll kill you' Alec said seriously.
'oh scared..alright tell me' Jimmy said jokingly.
'I met this really gorgeous girl..' Alec started then Jimmy continued 'and you like her'. 'But I'm not sure if she likes me' Alec said confused as he has never actually been in love before.
'A girl? Not in love with the famous Alec Su? I don't think so' Jimmy joked.
'What about you, Jimmy Like anyone?'Alec asked Jimmy. 'I have seen this really far out girl but still not sure if she likes me' Jimmy said then regretting that he told his secret to Alec.
'oh! A girl? not in love with the famous Jimmy Lin? Couldn't be!' Alec mimicked Jimmy's last phrase.
'So who is it? Who is this secret girl you like?' Alec asked raising one of his eyes brows. 'ehh! Who is the secret girl you like...I get the prevlidge to ask you first because I was the one who brought up the idea of this topic!' Jimmy joked.
Alec raised his eye brow again. 'Alright I'll tell you!'
'You've gotta show me what this girl looks like and who she is for Alec su to fall in love with' Jimmy said jokingly.
'What about you huh?' Alec said sounding like a threat.
'I heard her friend calling her Ruby, but not sure of her last name' Jimmy said as he scratched his head.
'WAIT! Today the two girls in front of us were also called Vicki and Ruby, could it be!' Jimmy exclaimed.
'Could be, I mean Vicki must be Ruby's friend or something' Alec said happily.

(Next Day at School)
'Ruby we need to go the Mall today to look for our Prom dresses or we'll spend the money before we can buy the dress' Vicki Exclaimed.
'Then I can't catch the same tram as Alec today' Ruby said sadly. 'Who wants to' Vicki said but at the same time she thought to herself 'I know, I really want to Catch the same tram as him and see him again'.
Vicki and Ruby went to their normal classes for the day, happy to buy their prom dresses.

'Ruby, what about this shop 'Madam Elegante'?' Vicki said noticing the name was pretty good.
'Nah, price tags vicki..The dresses are stunning as well as the prices' Ruby joked.
Vicki frowned but lighten up when she noticed another shop. 'Hey I know the manager of this shop, maybe we can get a discount' Vicki cried.
'Sure' Ruby replied and together with Vicki, she walked into the stall.
Vicki and Ruby both picked out five different gowns to try on. Each on had their own stunning looks on the girls.
'Which one Ruby' Vicki said holding up five different gowns after she had tried them on and modeled in the mirror.
'They all look good on you' Ruby said being not much of a help. 'What about me, which one?' Ruby asked.
'They all look good on you, sorry it's true they all do' Vicki said taking a deep breath.
'Look, why don't we think it through over night and we'll come back tomorrow to buy' Vicki suggested.
'Alright' Ruby replied simply as she needed time to think too.

Time fly by quickly and now there was only one more day until end of school and of course Prom Night!
'Can you believe it Vicki, after one more days at school we'll be in uni' Ruby asked smiling to herself.
'hmm... do you think that in the future we'll stay as friends?' Vicki asked wondering.
'Of course, best friends always stick together' Ruby said.
'you know I'm so glad our exams are over! I mean I'm scared that I won't pass' Vicki said sadly.
'I won't pass either' Ruby also said sadly.
'Ahem! Ruby you always pass everything, but me I'm not THAT smart' Vicki joked.
Both girls laughed.
Walking across the other side of the corridor was none other than Alec and Jimmy.

Alec noticed Vicki the girl who took his breath AND heart away 'Hey there's vicki Zhao' alec said.
'I see, and theres Ruby as well, lets go say a hi' Jimmy suggested.
Alec nodded and they walked up to them.
'Alec? Jimmy?' Ruby Cried.
'Just wanted to come and say hi to you girls' Jimmy said.
'yeah..hi' Alec followed looking at vicki who didn't notice him watching.
'I think you must have mistakened something, why are you both saying hi to us?' vicki asked knowing that she and Ruby were not popular people so why would Alec and Jimmy say hi.
'Hey! Vicki would you like to come to prom as my partner?' alec asked just when the school bell rang making it impossible for anyone to hear what he said.
alec waited for an anwser. 'did you say something Alec?' vicki asked giving him the sofe innocent little girl look.
'nothing, don't worry about it!' Alec said.
'We've got to go now' Vicki said grabbing Ruby by the arm and tagging her away.
'why didn't you say anything Ruby, are you mute now?' Vicki joked.
'He's so dreamy' Ruby said as his face appeared in her head over and over again.
'We have a bigger problem, I don't want to go to the prom!' Vicki said.
'WHAT!?! Vicki you have to go!' Ruby cried not wanting Vicki to miss out on this prom
'It's not going to be fun...going alone' Vicki said again wanting to go but not wanting to go
'Please go even for the sake of our friendship?' Ruby pleaded....
'BUT!...fine fine fine' Vicki said not wanting to ruin their great friendship.
'Thank you vicki' Ruby yelled hugging Vicki.
After school they went to the ball gown shop to buy their dresses to go to the prom.
'We have to look the best' Ruby said full of pride. 'Yep, I agree' Vicki answered.
The girls spent there time discussing what they were giong to do and what their hairstyles were going to be like.
Tomorrow was going to be the night Vicki and Ruby were going to remember...Prom Night!
When Vicki got there Ruby and her dad were already in the car waiting for her.
Vicki got into the car and they drove off to the prom.
When they got there, the hall was full of cars and people. Even outside, was decorated with banners and there were people everywhere either talking to their friends or waiting for someone.
Vicki clutched onto Ruby's arm 'From the looks of the prom, we might be the only ones without partners tonight' Vicki said.
Ruby laid a reassuring hand on to Vicki's shaky hand and said calmly 'Doesn't matter, I'm sure it'll be fun tonight'.
Vicki nodded and wished she hadn't come to this prom night.
Ruby and Vicki waved goodbye to Mr. Lin and he drove off.
The two girls stood at the front door of the building. Watching couples walking in and walking out.
Both girls stood there.

(Meanwhile inside)
'wow this is really cool' Jimmy said looking around the huge hall while taking a sip of Fruit Punch.
Alec looked somewhat disturbed.
'Haven't seen Ruby around, have you?' Jimmy suddenly said. 'No' Alec replied.
'Lighten up, I'm sure they'll show up, don't worry mate' Jimmy said giving Alec a slap on the back.

(out side)
'Vick let's go in now? Ruby asked. 'sure' Vicki replied smiling.
The two girls walked in to the building.
Alec was looking around the room when an angel caught his eye. 'Vicki?' Alec thought to himself. Alec gave Jimmy a nudge but jimmy didn't say anything. Jimmy was thinking the same when he saw Ruby.
Vicki had her beautiful shoulder length hair down. She was wearing a light cream coloured spaghetti strap dress with light cream gloves up to the upper arm.
Ruby was wearing a baby blue strap dress with a big blue daisy stuck on the right shoulder strap. She has her hair all pulled up into a loose bun leaving bits of her hair down.
Both Girls looked stunning that night. Now, instead of Nadine and her gang as the attractions of the night, vicki and Ruby were.
Alec and Jimmy both couldn't believe their eyes. They looked beautiful.
'Let's look for our seats' Ruby called to Vicki. They started off to their seats when they heard thier names being called.
Vicki and Ruby turned around to see Alec and Jimmy walking towards them.
'Alec and Jimmy?' Vicki said to Ruby, then Ruby continued 'walking towards us?'. 'Couldn't be' Vicki cried.
'Hi Girls' Alec said trying to sound casual. Jimmy nodded his head.
'Do you girls have a partner for the next dance?' Alec asked focusing on Vicki.
'no' Vicki and Ruby replied at the same time.
'May I have the next dance with you, Vicki?' Alec asked as he put his hand out for her. '
Vicki looked helplessly at Ruby who just stared at her. 'I um..but...can you have the next dance with Ruby?' Vicki asked.
Vicki look a side glance at Ruby who smiled contently at her thanking Vicki for letting her dance with Alec.
'Then, Vicki may I have this dance?' Jimmy asked heart aching tha tRuby chose to dance with Alec than him.
'Sure' Vicki simply replied.
Alec just nodded but deep inside he was not sure whether she liked him or not...but from what he just heard maybe she doesn't like him.
The two couples made their way to the dance floor.
The slow romantic music started to play...alot of other couples moved onto the dance floor.
'Vicki, do you like alec?' Jimmy asked Vicki, who blushed.
'I'm a girl, how do you expect me to answer that' Vicki teased.
'Just say, yes or no it's as simply as that' Jimmy said.
'erm....yes' Vicki replied as she looked at the dance floor.
'Then why did you let Ruby dance with him, and not you dance with Alec?' Jimmy asked confused.
'Ruby is a great friend but I can't tell her I like her crush' Vicki said frowning but her face still looked as beautiful as ever.
'Ruby, likes Alec?' Jimmy said softly but frowning.
Vicki looked up at Jimmy 'I see now...you like Ruby don't you?' Vicki said smiling.
'nothing to be afraid about...Ruby, she's a nice girl, she's pretty, she's smart, she's..' Jimmy said then Vicki continued with a giggle 'she's the one girl you love'.
Jimmy blushed alittle.
Ruby watched Alec who smiled at her then looked around the dance floor.
Alec purposly walzed over with Ruby to Jimmy and Vicki.
Jimmy brushed past Alec and whispered in Alec's ear 'she likes you'.
Alec gave Jimmy a thumbs up and continued dancing happily.
The song finally ended.
Alec, Ruby, Jimmy and Vicki met at the refreshments table.

A slow romantic song started to play.
Jimmy gave Alec a look, they were thinking of the same idea.
'Agree?' Jimmy asked 'Agreed' Alec replied happily.
The two girls stood there confused over these two gorgeous guys.
Jimmy grabbed Vicki by the hand and took her to the Dance floor while Alec grabbed Ruby by the hand and took her to the dance floor as well.
After about 5 minutes of Dancing, Jimmy and Vicki danced over to Alec and Ruby.
Then Alec and Jimmy swapped partners, leaving the girls confused over what was happening.
'Ehh! Alec?' Ruby said confused after Alec Changed with Jimmy.
Vicki was even more surprised to dancing with the schools most popular guy.
'Ruby I have alot to tell you' Jimmy said to the confused Ruby.
'To me?' Ruby exclaimed.
'To tell you the truth I've never liked any girl in my life yet...that all became history when you came along...!' Jimmy said.
'I..ya' Ruby said trying to tell herself that Alec was who she loved but...somewhere deep inside she knew after what Jimmy had said that she loved him.
Ruby nodded and blushed.
Jimmy put his hands around her waist and Ruby leaned her head on to jimmy's chest.
'Vicki..I' Alec started but then nothing would come out of his mouth.
Vicki looked up at him afraid to look into his eyes as she knew she would blush.
'what is it?' Vicki said trying to still sound casual.
Alec took a deep breathe.
'Vicki, I'm not the best sweet talker there ever was...ever since I saw you, I got this feeling that I've never had before' Alec said.
Vicki blushed.
There was silence between Vicki and Alec as neither of them knew what to say next.
Then Jimmy to the rescue. 'Vicki, he's saying that he likes you and will you be he's girlfriend?' Jimmy said then went back to dancing with Ruby.
Vicki nodded, she blushed and lowered her head.
'Vicki I love you' alec said happily and planted a kiss on her forhead.
Both couples danced happily with their loved ones.
The music came to an end and there was an important announcement.
'Now to announce the Prom Queen and Prom King for this year!' The DJ announced.
All the students crowded aound the front stage waiting to see who was going to be the winners.
'Dah! who else is it going to be but Nadine' one student whispered to another student.
The Principal stood up on stage.
'This years Prom Queen and Prom King will be chosen on the spot... Students should recast their votes' the principal announced.
Three big boxes were put up front and thousands cards went into Vicki's Box, Alec's Box and Nadine's Box.
This was a close call.

It didn't take long for the judges (teachers) to count the votes. Soon everyone chattered about the winner...the whole room went noisy.
The principal stood up on stage this time with the results of the votes. He put his arms up in the air to silence everybody.
'Throughout these years, this has been the closest vote ever done...Results were definatly close to each other' the principal announced wiping sweat from his forehead.
Everybody in the room was totally silent to hear who the winners were.
'Due to the close results...we judges have decided that there will be two couples who win' the principal announced.
'Of Course, I'm gonna be the prom queen! for this year' Nadine bragged about herself to her friends who hesitantly agreed to everything she said.
The principal opened up the envelope and looked at the card...he adjusted the microphone and said 'The prom Kings for this year are...Alec Su and Jimmy Lin!'.
All the students cheered loudly. Vicki and Ruby cheered as loud as they could.
The principal silenced everyone again..now for the prom Queens for this year, *opened envelope* The prom Queens for this year are... Vicki Zhao and Ruby Lin!, with Nadine coming very close behind them'
Everyone went wild as the winners well deserved the title of Prom King and Prom Queen.
Vicki and Ruby were in shock they stood rooted to the ground. 'Am I dream or what?' Vicki said giving alittle pinch on her arm. 'Let's go Vicki' Ruby said happily.
Vicki walked up to the steps noticing Nadine who has already readied herself to walk up the steps as if she knew that she would win.
Nadine acted as if nothing had happened.
Vicki Brushed past Nadine, 'Looks whos the loser now!' Vicki exclaimed while Ruby nodded in agreement.
Alec got up to the microphone and waited for the whole room to become silent...
'I'd like to make a very special speech today, getting this award is..the best ever, I want to thank my very best mate Jimmy, my friend Ruby, I'd like to dedicate this winning to the girl I love Vicki Zhao!' Alec annouced turning to Vicki.
Vicki blushed, she leaned over to Ruby and whispered 'Oh My God, Ruby this is sooo..embarasing'. Ruby giggled.
Jimmy also walked up to the microphone. 'I'd also like to thank all my friends. Like Alec I'd like to decicate my win to a very special lady who has won my heart Ruby Lin!' Jimmy said.
This time Ruby Blushed...Ruby turned to Vicki and was about to say something when Vicki said ' I know how you feel and I know what you are going to say' They both laughed.
AFter the announce ments were over, everybody congratulated them for their wins and everyone was a happy.
Soon it was time to end! Vicki and Ruby had some dreaded news to make!
Both girls pulled their partners outside where there was no one around.
'Alec, Jimmy You two are the greatest guys we've ever meet but Tomorrow Ruby and I have to go overseas and we don't know when we are coming back' Vicki said watching the guys' face change dramatically.
'WHAT?' Alec and Jimmy said in unison
'You see my dad and Vicki's dad are starting a business together and ... their starting the business overseas and we have to go with them' Ruby said sadly not wanting to part with Jimmy.
'We haven't even started our relationship and you have to go already' Alec said taking Vicki's hand.
'I'm sorry, I only knew today but I didn't want to wreck the day' Vicki said knowing she shouldn't have come today...she would be breaking so many hearts..her heart and Alec's heart.
'You too?' Jimmy said turning to Ruby who by then was in tears.
Alec embraced Vicki in his arms and looked deep into her eyes. 'I love you Vicki Zhao, never forget me!' Alec whispered and pushed his lips softly on hers... she returned the kiss as passionate as ever.
Jimmy and Ruby also gave each other a deep passionate kiss.
Soon both Ruby and Vicki broke off the kiss.
Vicki and Ruby both took one last look at Jimmy and Alec for the last time...and walked off in tears.
'I'll Never forget you Vicki' Alec Yelled
'You'll always have a big place in my heart, I love you Ruby' Jimmy yelled.
Both guys holding back their tears as they know that men don't cry that easily.
This was one night for them all to remember...
Both families were really close. They meet at Ruby's house and waited for the taxi's to arrive.
Vicki kept looking back, thinking about memories as well as thinking about Alec.
Ruby who also missed Jimmy, patted Vicki on the back 'Don't worry, we'll be back I hope' Ruby said herself looking over the street.
The taxi came on time, and everyone loaded their luggage on to the taxis. Vicki and Ruby both took one look at the empty street then got in the taxi.
The Airplane took off and they said goodbye to Taiwan.
The Plane arrived at Australia. This was going to be their new home.
( 2 years later)
'I can't believe we're going back to Taiwan' Vicki exclaimed.
'I know...too bad just the both of us are returning...the rest just can't be bothered' Ruby joked.
'I bet so much must have changed through these two years' Vicki said.
'Well, at least we're going to the same uni there, I'm so glad they accepted me too, but I'm going to miss everyone at Uni here' Ruby said remembing the farewell party her classmates gave them both just yesterday.
'hmmm...all well, we'll get used to it over there' Vicki said sadly but brightened up not letting today be a sad day.
They said sad goodbyes to their families and went to the airport.
They arrived at Taiwan in the next morning. 'Taxi, can you please take us to this address' Ruby said handing a piece of paper to the taxi driver.
They soon arrived that the apartment. It was a beautiful cream colored newly built apartment with looked stunning as well as in the inside.
Vicki opened the door, furnature and everything.
Ruby jumped onto the soft bed and pretended to fall asleep. 'This is paradise!' Vicki called from the lounge room.
'I know, so glad you dad and mine both brought this for us...' Ruby called getting up and looking into the bathroom and into the other bedroom.
'Wow! so spacious' Ruby exclaimed.
'God, all the airplane flight has made me hungry...is there anything to eat?' Vicki called.
'Let me see' Ruby replied running out of the rooms and into the kitchen.
'Nothing but I brought some bowl noodles which YOU can make' Ruby said giggling.
'Why can't you? I'm so comfortable on this couch' Vicki said not wanting to move from her spot.
'Lazy!'Ruby said as she opened the packets of noodles.
'I wonder what it's gonna be like a a whole new Uni, maybe there's new friends or even maybe there's people from our old high school' Vicki thought to herself....
'We're here!' Vicki asked Ruby sighing
Ruby nodded and took a deep breathe before looking around.
'Well we're gonna have to walk in some time or another right?' Vicki said teasingly herself scared.
After they had all the important things done. They were guilded to their homeroom.
Vicki and Ruby were both so extememly glad that they were in the same class as well as in the same campus.
'Okay, everyone these are our new students Vicki Zhao and Ruby Lin' the teacher announced
vicki and Ruby both flashed everyone their most beautiful smiles.
Guys whistled until the teacher had to quieten down the classroom.
'This isn't so bad after all' Vicki whispered to Ruby who nodded agreeing to Vickis comment.
For once they were part of the 'in' group instead of being a no body.

(Over at the South Campus, a bunch of guys were walking along the corrodor)
'Me and they boys aare going to bowling tonight, are u coming man?' Vincent said
'Nah, got to...ah...' Alec stuttered at that moment thinking of what to lie about.
'Alec my man, you LOVE bowling don't you!' Vincent continued to persuade.
'You see we have these assignments to do....YES! of course these assignments that are marked hugely on our reports, and it's due tomorrow!' Jimmy said quickly as he knew Alec couldn't think up a idea.
'What assignments? Miss, didn't give us any assignments?' Mark asked confused.(He is one of the guys in the bunch)
Alec widened his eyes, wondering if Vincent knew they were lying to him......
'Shut Up Mark, we HAVE assignments don't we' Jimmy asked through gritted teeth, giving him the 'eye'.
'oh! Of course you that assignment' Mark quickly answered cracking a fake laugh 'how could I forget it?'.
'Alright then, if you guys can't come' Vincent said sadly.
It wasn't that Alec and Jimmy didn't want to go it was just that all they thought about wass their beloved Vicki and Ruby.
'Why didn't you want to go?' Jimmy asked half knowing the answer but asked anyway.
'Can't concerntrate on anything since the last day of high school, keep thinking about her' Alec admitted.
Then he turned to look at Jimmy. ' Why didn't you go?'.
'Well, because you didn't go, and then I have this thought of Ruby, her face is always in my head. This love stuff is everywhere' Jimmy teased.
They walked to the Cafe just outside the school for lunch.
They went inside and found a seat just behind a high wall.
Vicki and Ruby both also walked outside to the cafe for a quick lunch. They choose to sit at the only seats left, the ones on the other side of the wall.
Niether of them knew who was on each side.

'It's alright! What do you think of this uni?' Vicki asked n reply.
'Hmm.....I also think it's alright' Ruby replied.
'Fine, just copy what I say' Vicki exclaimed loud enough so that Ruby could hear what she said.
'Vicki Zhao!' Ruby teased loudly.
The two girls started to laugh histerically.

'Vicki Zhao?' Alec thought to himself.
'Alec what's wrong?' Jimmy asked noticing Alec 'freeze' on the spot.
'I thought I heard Vicki's name' Alec said confused and deep in thought.
'Alec your mind is ringing, all you hear all day is Vicki's name' Jimmy teased.
'I guess it's just me' Alec said as he shrugged.
They both finished their lunches and got ready to leave.
Alec and Jimmy walked RIGHT passed Vicki and Ruby with out noticing then both there.
The day finished quickly but pity the two couples didn't meet.

(The Next Day- Saturday)
'Wow this Shopping center has changed so much since we left here hasn't it?' Ruby cried out.
'uh ha, This is the shop where we brought our prom night dresses from - ah the memories' Vicki said softly
At once images of alec smiling warmly at her shot into her head making her want to cry just now but she held her tears in.
'Look they even have Mc Donalds over here' Ruby exclaimed happily.
'So much things can change during 2 years' Vicki said
Ruby nodded her head in agreement but was concerntrating more on the cute little ornaments displayed in shop windows.
Soon in not even an hour both girls came out of the shopping center with bags full of shopping.
They boarded the tram.
'Wow look at all this stuff I brought, all so cute!' Ruby exclaimed taking out all her cute little stamps and pens she had brought.
Vicki nodded in agreement.
Memories flashed before her. She remembered the first time she saw Alec.
It's was like it all happened yesterday.
This was no ordinary tram for Vicki, but a tram full of beautiful memories of Alec.
'I wonder if she will ever come back here, even for a holiday?' Alec asked himself.
Alec got up from his bed and preceded to the window that was firmly shut.
He pulled the handle watching the window creak open.
'Vicki Zhao, Please come Back I need you!' Alec yelled loudly.
There was a knock on the door, Alec turned around and said loudly so the person outside could hear what he was saying clearly.
'What?' Alec yelled out loud
'Is there anything wrong Alec' Alec's mother said in reply.
'Alright then' Alec's mother said worriedly wondering what her precious son is worrying all over about.
'I need you Vicki Zhao, I need you' Alec said thinking about her again and again.
It was getting late. Alec settled in bed still thinking about Vicki.
Alec's Dream.........
A slim palm covered his eyes. 'Guess who?' a angelic female voice whispered in his ears.
'umm...let me see, who else but Vicki Zhao' Alec said as he pulled her over to sit on his lap.
'Who'd you know?' Vicki asked tilting her head on Alec's shoulder making her look like the prettiest most cutest girl on earth.
'a 6th Sense' Alec teased and Vicki made a funny face at him
Alec looked deep into her beautiful crystal eyes, he instantly was in wonderland.
He put his hand on her forehead then pushed away the fringe. He kissed her lightly on the head.
She returned it....
There was a thunder strike.....
End of Alec's Dream
Alec woke up with a start! It was thundering and lighing outside. It was already 7 in the morning.
'School again? right......right'Alec moaned as he dragged himself off the bed and got dressed as fast as he could.
He arrived at the school gate at the same time Jimmy did.
They both gave each other a high five, and walked in.
Vicki and Ruby also walked past, They walked diagonally to the north campus.
Alec and Jimmy both looked up and saw them both......they widened their eyes 'it's them both' they both said together.
'Vicki…Ruby!' Alec called as loud as he could. Just when Vincent and the gang came and surrounded Alec and Jimmy making it impossible to see Vicki and Ruby let alone Vicki and Ruby see them.
Vicki turned around to see who called her name. Ruby too turned around to see.
Ruby looked confused then looked at Vicki who had the same look.
Seeing that there was no one there they both turned around and walked away.
'Vincent just get stuffed for now!' Alec said coldly as he glared at him.
Alec pushed through the crowd, looking for Vicki but even her trace was not seen.
'Whoa man, what's up with you today?' Vincent asked alittle annoyed. 'Just go!' Jimmy said louder.
They all left wondering what they had done wrong. 'where'd they go?' Jimmy asked Alec.
Alec and Jimmy went around the place trying to look for Vicki and Ruby.
'We've lost them' Alec said as he caught his breath and sighed.
'hmm..after they came back they didn't even tell us…not even a phonecall' Jimmy said.
'well they don't know our addresses nor do they know our phone numbers' Alec said again knowing that Vicki would meet with him, if she didn't she would have her reasons.
' The good thing is that we knowthat they go to our school rite?' Alec asked a little smile on his face.
'yep…just alittle time and we'll find Ruby and Vicki, I have a lot to tell Ruby' Jimmy suggested.
Both guys gave each other a high five and got up for their class.
At the end of the day, Alec told Jimmy that they should both wait at the front gate and see if Vicki or Ruby go this way home.
Both agreed.
Meanwhile Vicki and Ruby walked out heading towards the front gate.
Alec and Jimmy were looking around the place seeing if they could see them.
'Let's go out the back gate…it's closer to the post office because I need to post this letter' Vicki said.
Ruby and Vicki turned around and walked the opposite direction to where Alec and Jimmy were.
Making them miss each other by a couple of metres.
Alec looked around to see no trace of Vicki 'I wonder where they are?' Alec asked Jimmy who shrugged and continued waiting.
'if you don't know, how am I supposed to know?' Jimmy answered.
Alec gave a nudge into jimmy's ribs. They wondered where Vicki and Ruby where.
After waiting for a long time, Alec and Jimmy left depressed.
*******(Over at Vicki and ruby)*************
'so who is this letter for?' Ruby asked couriously.
'It's for Alec' Vicki said happily wondering where Alec could be at this very moment.
After posting it, the two girls returned home.
'You know? I wonder if Alec would get the letter.
I asked this guy for his address I wonder if it is it?' Vicki said worriedly.
'It is..I mean it should be' Ruby comforted Vicki.
'Yea..I'm being self conscious' Vicki said.
The next day, Alec looked in the mail box for anything interesting.
'To: Alec Su From: VickiZhao' were the only words that revolved around his head just looking at the envelope.
'A letter from Vicki!" Alec cried as he ran inside to read it.
He locked himself inside his bedroom.
Alec turned the envelope around to see where vicki lived.
'Damn it, she had forgotten to write her address at the back of the envelope' Alec said.

Dearest Alec,
Ruby and I have arrived back here.
I miss you a lot! Remember the prom night…it was like heaven but I had to leave you.
I know this is a brief letter, I'll write more to you.
Just three words to sum it all up to you……I love you.

'I love you too Vicki Zhao' Alec said softly to himself.
'Maybe she would come over here and look for me?' Alec said again to himself.
Alec brightened up a little, at least he knew that his Vicki Zhao was back and that she had waited for him.
He drifted off to sleep.

'Vicki just go to sleep' Ruby said for the one millionth time.
'But what do you think?' Vicki asked again. Ruby turned around to face Vicki and throw her pillow into Vicki's face.
'He still likes you' Ruby said yawning while she said it. 'Really?' Vicki asked again 'Jimmy feels the same for you too' Vicki added.
'Yes…now can we go to sleep please?' Ruby said while she half slept and half talked.
'But..what if he doesn't like me anymore! It's not like I'm beautiful or anything' Vicki said.
'For the last time Vicki, you ARE beautiful and Alec STILL likes you' Ruby said as she was getting really sleepy.
'yea..but' Vicki argued. But now response. 'Ruby wake up and talk to me…I can't sleep yet' Vicki said pushing Ruby from side to side but Ruby had already fallen into a deep sleep.
Vicki sighed then she shrugged and walked into her room. She looked at herself in the mirror.
To her a normal girl with big attractive eyes looked back at her.
She tucked herself into bed and VERY slowly finally drifted off to sleep too.

The next day came up.
'Vicki, wake up or you'll be late' Ruby called from downstairs.
'Just five more minutes' Vicki said wearily as she went back to sleep again.
10 minutes past. 'Vicki, wake up!' Ruby called again from downstairs.
'I didn't sleep last night…let me sleep a little longer please' Vicki replied.
'No' Ruby replied simply. Ruby walked into Vicki's bedroom with homemade pancakes.
The delicious smell of pancakes filled the entire bedroom. 'pancakes?' Vicki said half sitting up to smell her favourite food.
'yes…if you wake up now..you can eat them but if you don't wake up now….not food!' Ruby said moving the plate around so Vicki could get a good smell.
Vicki awoke instantly and did all the things to get ready. She raced down stairs, to get the pancakes that Ruby made.
As Vicki ate Pancakes Ruby looked at Vicki and shook her head slightly.
'Ever since we left here 2 years ago, Vicki had still loved her pancakes even now' Ruby thought to herself happily.
Meanwhile Alec and Jimmy were already at the gate walking in.
Vicki and Ruby got off the bus and started to walk to class right behind Alec and Jimmy which they didn't know who they were.
'We're late now' Ruby pouted, 'I know, what are we going to say, going to do?' Vicki said getting more and more worried.
Walking in front; 'Geez, now we're late' Alec said as he got out his homework journal. 'Ah Who cares…..only 15-20 minutes late, what could the teach do make us lick the toilet seats clean with our tongues? Come on' Jimmy joked around.
'S**T! Business Study Essay due TODAY' Alec nearly yelled.
Alec pulled Jimmy to a halt! Vicki and Ruby who were not concentrating only thinking of being late crashed right into the backs of Alec and Jimmy.
'Ouch!' the four of them said in unison all rubbing their sore backs. 'Who's that?' Alec turned around and said.
Alec went completely silent.
'I'm sorry we knocked into you' Vicki said as she faced the ground. 'Well you two should be for knocking us down onto the ground like that' Jimmy turned around and said then he too froze in his spot. Vicki and Ruby both looked at each other and then looked up. A shocker and a half. 'Vicki' Alec managed to say softly. 'alec, is it really you?' Vicki exclaimed half excited half not believing.
Vicki threw herself into his arms and rested her head on his shoulder. 'vicki, you're back I'm so happy' Alec said happily. 'Did you get the letter I sent you?' Vicki asked. 'Yes, but didn't put your address on the back of it, so I couldn't reply to you' Alec said as she hugged her tighter. This warm feeling that Vicki had longed for has finally happened.
To Vicki, Alec is the one, he was only the one and always the one for her. 'I will never let you leave me again' Alec said proudly afraid that the next time Vicki has to go away, he might go crazy.
'I love you Alec' Vicki whispered under her breath. Alec gave Vicki a kiss on the forehead. Meanwhile, Ruby looked at Jimmy and quickly her face turned red. Jimmy looked around for words, he needed words. 'heck' Jimmy said to himself and pulled Ruby closer towards him. He kissed Ruby deeply. Ruby hugged Jimmy 'I love you' ruby said to jimmy softly. Jimmy replied 'Love ya too'.
After being separated for two Vicki and Alec, Ruby and Jimmy are finally together again. Each of them finding the other important half. Their love, their soulmate, their life! With each other, they all finished university and all received high marks for an end result. It was not long before…

'I wonder why Alec and Jimmy invited us to this expensive restaurant?' Ruby asked looking around at all the exquisite foods and dining tables. 'I don't know?' Vicki said as she gave a little shrug. Two handsome young guys walked down to the table where Vicki and Ruby sat.
'Alec and Jimmy…in uniform?' Vicki said holding in her laughter as Alec and Jimmy walked down in a waiters tuxedo on. 'Two very special dinners for two very special girlfriends' Alec announced as he and Jimmy both held out a tray with a lid on it. Vicki and Ruby both lifted the lids to reveal a small ring case. Vicki and Ruby gasped.
Alec opened the ring case to reveal a lovely ring 'Will you marry me Vicki Zhao, will you let me take care of you for ever and ever' Alec said as he held out the ring case infront of vicki and knelt down before her. Vicki blushed and nodded bashfully. Alec quickly fished out the ring and slid it into her ever so delicate finger making it shine so prettily.
Jimmy opened his ring case 'Will you marry me Ruby Lin, and be my beautiful wife' Jimmy said as he knelt in front of Ruby holding her hand.
Ruby looked around at all the customers looking at them, she nodded. Jimmy slid the beautiful ring onto her finger and smiled. It was not long before…….

Vicki and Ruby had a joint wedding as two best friends. Vicki and Ruby walked down the hall standing side by side, seeing Alec and Jimmy at the other end of the aisle. They walk gracefully, like two beautiful angels.
'Alec Su You Peng, will you take Vicki Zhao Wei as your lawfully wedded wife?' the priest asked. 'I do'. 'Will you Vicki Zhao Wei take Alec Su You Peng as your lawfully wedded Husband?' 'I do'. The rituals went on. Soon both couples were pronounced 'husband and wife'.
They paraded out of the church, and towards the two wedding cars. Vicki tripped on her Vail and fell on the floor followed by Ruby who tripped over her leg. Everyone helped them up, except for Alec and Jimmy who started to laugh at the fall. Vicki and Ruby looked at each other then threw they're bouquets at their husbands. 'ouch!' Jimmy said as both flowers landed on his head.
Vicki and Ruby walked away smiling triumphantly as they got into the wedding cars. 'what's that saying again? Marriage is just the beginning of your life' Alec said as he shook his head and walked towards the wedding car. Jimmy followed. The cars left the church…crowds cheered.
This was the beginning of a new life for them.
