This page is dedicated to all those who lost their lives
at the World Trade Centers, the Pentagon and aboard Flight 93. Also to all their families and friends
my fellow Americans and the whole wide world.

God bless us all.

A Final Farewell

by
Marlene Porter

The sun shone bright today on the Ground Zero crowd.
Of their silence and dignity we are all so very proud.
A flag covered stretcher borne with solace all around.
For those who will remain forever on this hallowed ground.

On our souls this task, there could be placed no cost.
As we bid a final farewell to all of those we lost.
All the sad toil and labor has now come to an end.
And our heartfelt gratitude to Ground Zero workers we send.

God bless America on this truly sad but humbled day.
Remember all those lost September 11th as you pray.
While the World Trade Center Towers no longer stand tall.
Americans remain strong, all for one and one for all.

Our thoughts are with all the victims and their families today.
As the final girder from the World Trade Center is solemnly led away.
America will move on, a chapter in history now left behind.
And we thank God our liberty and freedom no one will ever unbind.
