1 cup - brandy
1 cup - sugar
2 - cinnamon sticks
5 - whole cloves
2 - thinly sliced lemons

Fruit Fizzes
This non-alcoholic drink is fun and festive for any occasion. A favorite with children and adults, you might need to make multiple batches of this party favorite. It is perfect served in sugar rimmed champagne flutes, or other tall glasses that will highlight the fizziness of the drink once it is poured. You can use any fruit in the fizzes for decoration, frozen grapes, strawberries, raspberries, tangerine slices, kumquats, or currants all make great floaters in the glasses.
Preparation Time : 5 minutes
Cooking Time : None
Chilling Time : at least 2 hours
Total Time : 2 hours 5 minutes
Serves 8
- freshly squeezed juice from 2 lemons
- freshly squeezed juice from 2 limes
48 ounces - sparkling apple juice
1 cup - club soda
8 - sugar cubes
1 - thinly sliced lime
1 - thinly sliced lemon
1 - peeled and thinly sliced kiwi fruit
1 - thinly sliced star fruit
- mint sprigs
- maraschino cherries
Chill all of the juices and club soda thoroughly. Place a sugar cube in the bottom of each glass. Mix together the juices and club soda and fill each glass. Add a slice or two of each fruit to the glasses. Garnish with the mint sprigs and cherries.
While the drinks cannot be mixed ahead of time or else they loose their fizz, you can squeeze the juices the morning before you make the fizzes. Set out the glasses and dip them in water then sugar for a festive touch the morning before. Then add the sugar cubes so they are all set to have the drink added when it is mixed.
Quicker : You can make this drink with any clear sparkling juice and just omit the lemon and lime juices. A tart juice works best as the sugar adds sweetness as well as fizz. Using whole fruit like grapes and currants also cuts your prep time.
