I am returning this otherwise good typing paper to you because someone has printed gibberish all over it and put your name at the top.

WOW!! That was some list, huh? I think I named just about every gemstone there is. When I first started practicing, one thing I always found on the web were gemstone listings, but they were very fragmented. So...I decided to put up a COMPLETE listing, whether or not the stones were used for magickal purposes. What the heck...maybe you'll find that variations of stones will give different variations of success....
I also found that many people list what the magickal properties of stones are, and that will be my next listing. That will take a while, since a lot of sites conflict with each other, and I have my own uses for stones as well. I follow a sort of...**feelly** approach to stones. I judge their color, texture and temperment. When my cirle is cast, I hold the stone in my Right hand (which is my God hand), then my Left(which is my Goddess) and let it "tell/talk" to me of what it wants to be used for. Maybe this is wrong wrong wrong...but My spells are seeming to work Anyway. So...what I have so far...
QUARTZ (WHITE): This is my energizing stone. When I hold it...it seems to hum with energy. I have a wonderful piece that I use to charge items, and another larger piece that will be going onto my wand. I find this stone is great at making my other stones a little bit more "energetic".
PERIDOT: I only have little bits, and I use them for earth magick. My plants seem to thrive with them, and I use them with my pets. I also use them with small healing magick.
GARNET: I use this for **ahem** sex magick. I hold it and it seems to scream power. I use it for stamina and strength.
MOONSTONE: Dream magick. I use this to encourage good dreams, and soothe upset minds.
RUBY: Fire magick. I use it to store the power of personality. For creation and artistic ideas.
ROSE QUARTZ: I use this for gentle magick, full of hopes and dreams. Soothing in nature, it is wonderful to calm nerves and anxieties.
I just thought of something. For all you new witches out there...Here is one of your major questions. What the heck do you do with stones??? It took using them a couple of times to come up with some uses. (Be creative) I use them to:
1. Charge items, including the pentacle. Quartz is wonderful as the all around charging stone. Some of the others are good for specific charging...like emerald for healing..., but quartz seems to work on everything (at least for me!!)
2. Storing of energy for future use. Protect these stones if they will not be used later in the same circle!! Don't need extra energy being accidentlly released about your humble abode!! I like using smoky quartz for storing negative emotions which will be cleansed later.
3. Transferance. Have yourself or another focus an emotion into the appropriate stone. Now, place the stone on an object that will be charged with that mental energy. Like making a lucky object.
Okay. Now we know how they can be used, but what do you do with them after you are done? Stones can be purified using different methods.
1. Bury the stone in the ground for a couple of days. If you do not live on your own property, use a clay pot filled with fresh earth.
2. Place the stones in the sun for a few days. Be careful, some stones will actually lose their coloring and fade. Research your stones before you do this. Also. Birds love shiny things, and your stones may "leave". Do not despair. When stones need to move on, they do so with whatever means necessary. Stones are never "lost" or "misplaced", they just needed to be somewhere else.
3. Place the stones under the full moon. Stones generally don't fade under Her gentle light, but they are harder to see, so watch where you put them and don't knock them over or off the edge.
4. Soak them in salt water. I prefer sea-salt, but regular salt can do just fine. I prefer not to use a plastic container, but it depends on what you "feel" is right.
5. You can cast a circle, and purify it using your pentacle. I don't usually do this, but if you need purification in a hurry, this is a fine option.
These are only a few of the things I have learned dealing with gemstones. As I learn and grow, I am sure I will come up with other ideas. Blessings upon you and your house.
