Spirit Animals

Let's face it. The wolf rules supreme on the web followed by other "powerful" animals like the eagle and tiger. Do you have any idea how long it took to do addtional research on these "cute" little animals that guide me?? Maybe I will have better luck with the Bear and Ram...atropo

RABBIT
Who would think that fuzzy creature that loves to invade your garden and eat your daisys would have such profound spiritual impact. Over the years, I can see more and more of Rabbit influencing my life and decisions. When I finally set out to look for my spirit guide...I never saw so many rabbits in one place before. I guess Rabbit decided to stop being subtle!

What Rabbit has taught me:
1. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. If the fox is coming and you cannot defend yourself, it is okay to leave the situation until a better time.

2. Don't ever corner a rabbit. They may look soft and cute, but if necessary they can fend off the biggest preditor with their teeth and claws.

3. As a female, the biggest reason for the Rabbit is the rabbits uncanny ability to reaborb her unborn if the time is not right to have babies, such as a shortage of food or overcrowding.

4. It's okay to be soft and fuzzy so long as you are willing to defend yourself, house and family.

5. Sometimes you have to eat the roses and move on.

6. Not everything is as it seems.

7. Think on your feet, and trust your instincts. If it doesn't smell safe, it probably is not.

8. Face your fear, and move ON!

9. Look for the messages underneath the leaves.

BLUE JAY

My favorite wild bird is the blue jay. It is the meanest, toughest bird I know. My fascination goes back to childhood when a jay built a nest on my grandmother's porch. Because the mother divebombed anybody who climbed to the porch, we ended up always using the back door. Long live the Jay!

What Jay has taught me:

1. It's okay to fly away, but sometimes you have to divebomb the cat.

2. Always defend your family.

3. You may chatter bunches, but make sure it has meaning.

4. Catch the wind, and fly with style.

5. Courage is not judged by size.

SQUIRREL
Few things will cheer me up faster than a squirrel. I love the bush tail and the quick darting movements as they search for food. They are smart, intelligent (not the same as smart), funny and industrious. Only a squirrel can figure out how not to get hit by a car (dive for the underbelly and sit there patiently until the car moves forward. If the driver has a heart-attack...all the better). I once watched a crow and a squirrel duke it out, but didn't get a chance to see the end of the fight. These little guys may be small, but they sure pack a whallop!

What Squirrel has taught me:

1. Always plan for the future.

2. Plan ahead, gather and store energy for when you really need it.

3. Love yourself enough to stash something back just for you

4. Gathering is nothing but randomness without planning and a place to put what you find.
