Okay, what should you read to learn more about your magickal self...
Do you live near a library? Yes? Okay, start with the A's and stop when you get to the Z's. Toss in all the books starting with numbers, and you have got it! To confine your readings to only people like Starhawk or the Farrars is to be just as confining as Christian's who only read the Bible and Biblical readings. Why would you do that? Have you read the Torah yet? Can you name 20 elements on the Periodic Table? What is the capital of South Carolina? Just how many bugs are there in the world and is oil exploration in the Alaskan wilderness really that bad?
Do you stay political? How about the news? Do you read it? I really like Time, Newsweek, The Economist, CNN and The Daily News. I know who Madeline Albright (kick ass! Too bad she is not American Born or she could be President) is, Who Alan Greenspan is (Go Alan!Go Alan!) and I think Colin Powell is vastly unprepared for the Secretary of State position. And how do I know this? I read.
Oxygen, Nitrogen, Gold, Silver, Sodium, Helium.... Which came first, T-Rex or the Saber Tooth tiger. What is the significance of Elizabeth Canton or Gloria Steinam ( I NEVER spell the last name right)? What are your personal perogatives and beliefs. Do you know what Satanism really stands for? (gasp!!) What are some basic tenets of being a Muslim woman (as stated in the Qu'uran not modern views)? How come you don't know?
Someone once stated: "I don't know, therefore I am wise" (or something to that effect). Brilliant stuff. I don't know everything either, so I read to learn more. And so we have our suggested reading list for Witchcraft. EVERYTHING!!
