A long time ago, when Hotaru was young, her father, Professor Tomoe allowed her to come to his lab and watch him work for a day.
"Don't lean over." cautioned Professor Tomoe, "It's dangerous, Hotaru" The Professor began explaining his machine to the other researchers. "Wow, what's that daddy?"
	Unfortunately, there was a accident and the explosion killed everyone, including his only daughter, Hotaru. Sou ichi (Professor Tomoe) was the only one left.
"Hotaru? Hotaru! Answer me! Hotaru!" He was so upset, pleading for his daughter's life.   Suddenly, a strange black star hovered in front of Professor Tomoe. "Do you want to save your life and your daughter's life?" It was then, an evil Daimon, offered to bring Hotaru back to life, but with something for return. "I'll do anything to save Hotaru," begged Tomoe, "I don't care about myself!" Professor Tomoe offered anything to save her.
	"I see," cackled the voice,"then I'll take you both!" The daimon, in return for Hotaru's life, would control Professor Tomoe's body; secretly within, Hotaru was too.

The black star went into Tomoe's right eye. Tomoe was transformed. "I'll achieve our goal!" screamed the professor.

  Her father was possessed by the master Daimon from the Death Buster,who used them to release Pharaoh 90; but their ordinary lives had changed forever.Not knowing Hotaru was Sailor Saturn, she was secretly possessed by Mistress 9, the Dark Messiah.
Kaori, Professor Tomoe's assistant often treat Hotaru badly when she was very little.

Hotaru's life was dark until one day, she met a girl with pink hair...
