THE CATEGORIES
You can compete in as many categories as you want,
but you must send in separate envelope and $25 for each category.
The different categories
are:
v Best poem- send in up to three poems every month.
The winners are announced on the 1st of the month.
v Best poetry
manuscript-
send in your manuscript with a title page (name, address, telephone number,
e-mail, and title). There is a minimum
of 80 pages for this category. Deadline: August
30, 2002.
v Best haiku- this category is held every month.
Winners announced on the 1st of the month.
v Best poetry CD or
tape- if
you have recorded your poetry, we want to hear it. Deadline: August 30, 2002.
v Best lyrics- for this category you may
send just the lyrics. Deadline: August 30, 2002.
v Best song- if you have turned your
poem/lyrics into a song send it in and enter the hardest category. Deadline: August 30, 2002.
v Most creative- whatever you created with
your poetry (a greeting card, some object with your poetry on it, a painting, a
photograph about your poetry, or anything else). If you wish to sell this product we will help you. Deadline: August
30, 2002
v Narrative poetry- doesn’t look like a poem,
but it sure sound like one. Deadline: August
30, 2002
v Short story/prose- this could be fiction or nonfiction on any topic. We judge for good writing skills, great attention getter, and your work must have a cause, meaning, and purpose. Deadline: August
