October 28, 2001 @ the Chiller Theatre Sci-fi/Horror Conn.
It took me two and a half years, of dreaming, wishing and hoping...but after all that waiting I finally met RAY PARK! My Hero since Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Mortal Kombat Annihilation. As most of my friends and family know, Ray has been my favorite topic of conversation for the longest. My room is wall to wall Darth Maul, Toad, everything and ANYTHING. But it wasn't until I attended the Chiller Theatre Oct-2001 convention in Rutherford NJ, when I actually got to meet Ray.
Okay so here's my story....I've been a huge fan of Ray's since Episode one back in 99. So one day this past September, I was browsing around his Official Website (Raypark.com) and I noticed he had some US appearances coming up. Little did I know that he was going to be right under my nose at a Sci-fi Convention in New Jersey one month later! So finally the big day arrived and I was trying my best not to make a complete fool out of myself. I got to the convention with my Mom and Uncle, I was on a mission. I weaved my way through the crowd, and before I knew it I was at Ray's table. (You guessed it, the clouds parted, a single beam of light fell on him, angels singing blah blah, the whole ordeal :) Finally it was my turn to see Ray, and at least I gathered enough sense to say my name before my face burned and my knees went rubber. Even though I had tried to be all calm and cool when I got to talk to him. I was a complete nervous wreck! My hands starts shaking and I forgot most of everything that I wanted to say to him.(Real smooth Steph) Before I knew it Ray, (being the nice guy that he is) noticed my spaz attack, and gave me a huge hug! (So picture me, Nervous wreck little fan girl a puddle in her idols arms) After that I floated back down to reality and started speaking English again. So after a nice little 10 minutes of chatting, autographs, photos and hugs, My eventful day was over. He was everything I'd hoped he be times ten! Very sweet, polite, and truly the best experience of my life. I just wanted to say a thank you to Ray for being so wonderful. Enjoy the pics!**** He was everything I'd hoped he be times ten! My Story continues.......
So After I got home from the NJ Convention, I decided to e-mail my pictures of me and Ray to his Official website. Less than five minutes later I get an e-mail from the Webmaster Dave Evans, telling me that my pictures won a contest! And that I'd recieve two-three day passes to see Ray again at another convention in New York! Just when I thought my simple little life couldn't get any better. So I graciously accepted and took a friend to go meet Ray yet again. Only this time things were better, because now he was expecting me :) Besides getting to hang out with Ray and his manager Larry, I got to meet lots of other awesome famous people! Such as David Prowse, George Lowe, Peter Mayhew, and Lou Ferrigno!
