| +Background/history+ | She is the daughter of Gast (a Professor) and Ifalna, the last pure Ancient on the planet. So she is of two different races. Human and Cetra. But she never really came to know her father well, since she was only an infant when a Professor Hojo and a group of his followers invaded their home with the intent of doing away of Gast and kidnapping Aerith and Ifalna for the benefit of his experiments. When her mother was able to escape their captivity for a few years, she was in the verge of death. They got as far up to a station where she gave young Aerith away to a widow name Elmyra, to take care of. Elmyra had been often coming to the train station to wait for her husband who never came, took Aerith and raised her as her own. As the years progressed, her foster mother finds out the differences of child and her unique connection to the planet. Aerith claimed she could talk with the planet. She possessed unusual abilities as well. Elmyra just came to let her be. ||*In her early teens, Aerith found an abandoned church where she only was able to grow and sell flowers in the slums. Somewhere along these lines, she met a 1st-Class SOLDIER, Zack. They were very compatible and dated for a long time. They grew close, fell into love. But 2 years later, Zack disappeared and she never saw him again. She was heart-broken and devastated, believing the very attractive man had deserted her for another women*|| 3 years past and Aerith never forgot about Zack, through her bitter feelings for him. And when a young SOLDIER 1st-class, just like Zack, literally falls into her life, she is taken back by the resemblance of her first love, and becomes attracted to him. She optimistically decides to move on from there, from Zack's bitter memory. Then she joins him and the team in their travels...for many reasons. |
As time passed on, Aerith was beginning to fall over in love again with the man who was almost identical to that of Zack. Although she has later came to figures Cloud was not really "Cloud" deep inside. Things were different, the times had changed. She has believed Cloud would pay attention to her and only her, since (traditionally) she should be his type. She thought she could get Cloud based on this, and thought they would like each other. This was true, however Cloud would later find out who he really was and regain all his memories with the help of the girl Tifa, his first love and crush and they would later and eventually get together again, left off from their past from 5 years ago. Deep down Aerith knew Cloud wasn't really her first love, and had seen glimpses of him, in the love triangle and relationship between the girl and him. She knew Cloud also had feelings for the other girl, and sometimes grew jealous, not being able to help herself. I trully believe, deep in her heart, Aerith wanted and wished for Zack. She had found out that he hadn't left her but has just been missing for along time. She worried about his parents and thought about him. She missed him and thought he'd find another girl. In Aerith's end, she would reunite with Zack again, in her Promised Land.
