+Background/history+	Zack was a young man who grew up in Gongaga Village with his close and tightly knit family. But he was soon grew tired of the regular country life at his hometown. He was ambitious and very active, and the time came soon, when he'd tell his parents he'd want to leave and try to join SOLDIER in the capitol, Midgar. They were reluctant to let him go, but understood that Zack was a talented and overactive boy growing up, at a goal to pursue his dream. When the time came when recruits were being chosen, he more than qualified to SOLDIER. He was very talented and a great swordsman, he quickly rose in the rankings to the top-First Class-and became good friends with the young, world-renowned general, Sephiroth. During this time, must have been where he found a young sweetheart in Midgar, Aerith. =) One day, a gorgeous young lady caught his eye. She had long, chestnut brown hair tied back in a pink bow and brilliant emerald eyes. Just his type. He took a risk by talking to her - she was in the building escorted by Tseng, the leader of the Turks. However, he could only get off a quick introduction and "hello" before he was forced to go back to work. Her name was Aerith. Although he only saw her for a few minutes, she had imprinted herself in his mind. He couldn't stop thinking about her. While off-duty one day, he decided to visit her at her home in the slums. They had previously become close fast. When he got to her house, he was an absolute gentleman, charming not only Aerith, but even her mother. They hit it off instantly, talking nonstop for hours. It turned out they were quite compatible with each other. After that day, his visits became frequent. She'd show him her church in the slums where she grew a garden. He'd talk to her about his life at SOLDIER in Midgar and how he was on top of the ranks. She was captured by his attractiveness and bright, crystal blue eyes. Sometimes when they'd go out, taking her walking atop the plate and slums, she'd grow jealous when she'd spot a young women staring at Zack and grabbing his attention. But Zack always told her he was playing and it meant nothing to what they had. It was love for them both, like a good couple.

Soon after he became second in command, he and General Sephiroth were sent on a mission to Nibelheim, to investigate on reported 'monster' sightings near the reactor in that town. He would go along with Sephiroth and a guard from the company. Then he left to say goodbye to Aerith, his girlfriend. His final goodbye, although he didn't know it at the time. They had become acquainted by writing letters to each other when he was away. When he got back, it was time to go. The truck was already loaded, so he hopped in. It was his first mission as second in command, so he was excited. He spent most of the time in the truck doing squats, and talking to Sephiroth. He spotted the guard, named Cloud, and tried to help him keep Cloud's mind off his motion sickness. The truck reached Nibelheim, after a stop on the route when a monster was spotted, and they unpacked the truck and all went into the townof Nibelheim. The rest is some history...But, Zack's "legacy" didn't end there. His memory and self would be left in the young guard and friend, named Cloud, and in Aerith's memories in the insueing adventure.
