The signal shown here is a pretty typical California traffic signal assembly, using curved/upsweep mastarms and two signals on the arm and one on the pole itself. The left signal head usually has arrow lights for protected left turns. Traffic signal and streetlight combinations are also very common in California, as you can see the streetlight above the signal.
