Murry Rozansky

I spent my freshman year at Rutgers, NB breaking up with Marilyn Greenfeder. My Weequahic education was so good I did not need to develop work habits, and was quickly caught up with new friends, the Nutly Nuts, motorcycles, and '60's college life. (screenplay?) "Sex, Drugs, and Rock&Roll" well not exactly.

In and out of school a few times. Rutgers finally built a new school for me; Livingston College where I was involved in the planning stages, and was an undergraduate TA in photography. I also did work-study at Rutgers Instructional TV where I worked with the former director of the "Howdy Doody Show".

At one point my father said, " I've figured out what you are up to. You are retired now and are going to work the rest of your life." Dad hit it on the head. In the early 70's we noticed that the kids were real serious and did not seem to have much fun. One of my friends said, "I guess we used the good times up."

I did some student design projects on transportation systems and got a patent on a steam engine I invented. I got my BA in '73.

Maybe more importantly I had gotten my pilots license (power) and glider rating at a great little airport that deserves a novel or screenplay done about it. (someday).

In 1975 I fell into, through photography, the most interesting job I'll ever have ( another screenplay?). Assistant Dolphin Trainer at Great Adventure. I got to work and swim with, photograph, feed and get to know personally, ten Atlantic Bottle Nose Dolphins

A real job followed and a move to Hopewell, NJ. In 1978 that job ended and I spent the summer in Europe riding the rails (Passes) and visiting sailplane factories, engine companies, and other places of interest. On return I finally found a Douglass girl that would have me, Louise Miller and bought (with Dad's help) the motorcycle you see in the picture.

One of my goals, at the time was to be riding it in the next Century. I also started what was to be a 25 year career in the semiconductor laser/fiberoptics field, first in NJ and in 1985 in CA.

In 1986 Louise and I were married in the chapel at Rutgers, loaded the rental truck with all our stuff and her cat and drove off to CA with a week at the Experimental Aircraft Association Convention in Oshkosh, WI for our honeymoon in a tent. (I've only missed two since 1971.)

I started to do some freelance writing for the sport aviation magazines which I am doing again. We live in the NW corner of the San Fernando Valley on the North side of the Chatsworth Reservoir (EMPTY), a wildlife area. We have two kids, Sarah, on the bike, will be a teenager in Dec. Joseph, taking the picture is nine. They are good kids (so far).

I was down sized last year and have taken the opportunity to start my own business to develop my own designs instead of helping make other people rich. I have been working on a design for a high efficiency three-wheel motorcycle for over 20 years. It is a version of a roadable aircraft design that I had done back then. I just finished a proposal to NASA for funding to work on the flying version. We have just incorporated as, MIRCo, Ltd. and will have a web site up next year. See you soon, e-mail me at mirco@jps.net
