Game Review Hesperia Christian jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in beating Norte Vista 52-35 in pool play in the Hesperia Scorpion Rotary Tournament. Senior Zach Howard led the Patriots with 15 points and four steals.Junior Mike Maerzluft was right behind Howard with 14 points and 10 rebounds, his first double double of the season and the Patriots' third. HCS most importantly had their lowest number of turnovers of the season, ten which was one less than their number of assists. The HCS bench contributed 11 points this evening, almost the differential between HCS and Norte Vista.

The Patriots dominated the boards in this game with 38, their highest number of the season. The Patriots accomplished two things tonight. First, they won on a night that senior Mike Petersen was having an off night. Secondly, they did what good teams do and that is win despite not playing particularly well.

Hesperia Christian is now 4-2 and will take on Hesperia on Friday night at 7 pm.

Game Preview Hesperia Christian continues pool play in the Hesperia Scorpion Rotary Tournament at 4pm against Norte Vista. Norte Vista is presently at least 0-7 having just lost to Hesperia Scorpions in the first pool game, 89-46. This is the second ever meeting between these two teams. HCS lost to Norte Vista in the final minute of their game last year, 61-58.
